Best slice in cville. One slice can be a meal. Great sauce, great cheese, and excellent bread/dough/crust.

Heard great things about the pizza… most notably the size and quality. And they didn’t disappoint with their 28″ pizza and flavor. The restaurant décor… is rustic. :) we ordered pizza by the slice and it was quite good, fresh and hot. My only complaint… we were disappointed was with the quantity of meat on the pizza slice… or should I say lack of. I ordered the sausage and pepperoni and while they were good I wish there was simply more.

My one caveat is that the booth seating was pretty squishy and could probably be replaced with something a little nicer, but that doesn’t even warrant taking away a star. I don’t even like pizza that much to be honest, but it was excellent. I like the crunchiness, the crust tasted great, and the first bite with cheese and dough and Hawaiian flavor was on point. I got one slice of pizza for 5 dollars and a free cup of water. They offer one specialty slice, which happened to be Hawaiian that day. The guy at the counter was relaxed and friendly. I am going to take friends here and act like I am all high and mighty for finding the place.

$ 5 for a huge slice of pizza? Sure, why not?! I’ve been here a couple times and have always ordered whatever they have for the monthly special. This month there is Hawaiian. There were plenty of ham and pineapple chunks. The thin pizza is pretty good. It wasn’t hard like other pizzas that tend to be too crunchy. Also, the service is pretty fast so this is perfect for a quick lunch.

This place is renowned for their massive pizzas and for good reason. Very well priced with $ 5 for pepperoni slice and $ 4 for a cheese slice, and a whole pizza can barely be fit into an average-sized sedan. While the slices are huge, the pizza selection is naturally limited, given that they serve colossal-sized pizzas. You can either get cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. All things considered, however, I found the pizza to taste rather average. It certainly helped that the slice was monstrous and filled me up nicely because other than that, the pizza was honestly nothing special. Crust was thin and had a nice crunch, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything too spectacular other than the size of the slice. Watch out for parking here; I had to park in a nearby lot that might have towed me if I wasn’t quick. Good place to visit at least once for a massive slice of pizza, but don’t expect anything unique in terms of taste.

«Home of the big-ass slice». You get about a quater of a pizza for five bucks. The service was good and the pizza was good. The dacor was interesting, but has already started to come apart in places. The cushion in my booth seat was shot. But, what do you expect for five bucks, a quarter a pizza.

Walk to Christian’s Pizza. Just bought 4 slices for 19 bucks. That’s without drinks. It’s greasy which is strange how greasy it is since, mozzarella is a low fat cheese. The perks are it’s open til 2am on the weekends. So if I’m to drunk to make it to Cook– Out then maybe, just maybe but you best believe I’ll be on GrubHub for any other option first. I’m now going to go eat a salad because of the grease I feel leaking out of my pores.

Despite all the hype, I couldn’t bring myself to like it. Sure, the size is immense and it’s cheap, but that is about it. My slice was so thin it felt like eating a thin crust with just cheese on to and as if there was no sauce. There was nothing jaw-dropping about the taste of it. My mouth was so dry after eating half a slice I had to buy a drink. Parking is another issue… where are you supposed to park exactly?

MONSTROUS slices of pizza here — the pizza box barely fit in the back of my car! Avoid driving if you can though… the parking lot is as small as these slices are big. I ate 1.5 slices and did not move from the couch for a very long time that night.

Comparable to Christians pizza but not as oily, and the size of a slice is huge! A whole pizza is 28 inches! Perfect way to get a great pizza for a large family.

First of all… JUMBOSLICE! Great for stopping in for a lunch slice or getting a late night snack to soak up the suds. Secondly, it’s a great option for anyone who wants to serve a large crowd such as a party or business meeting. You get a lot of pizza in one box! Finally, owner is a great dude who is always making sure customers are happy!

It was everything I ever wanted at 2 in the morning walking home from the Virginian. Home of the original Virginia slice… I’m not certain what that means yet(unless Virginia’s known for XXXL pizza pies) but I’m damned sure I’ll find out on another occasion. The slice of cheese I tasted was better than Christian’s, in my opinion. But maybe the extra portion or the cheeky banter from the pizza makers swayed me. Either way, I’ll be back — same time, same place, same slice.

This is the best New York style pizza in Cville. The slices are HUGE! I hear they have a challenge for eating an entire pie, which is 28 inches. Good luck to whoever attempts that feet. Thanks for bringing great pizza to Cville Benny’s!

Cheapest pizza per person in CVille and way better than Christian’s. For $ 5(or $ 4 for just cheese) you get a pizza slice the size of your face — they call it the Virginia Slice(either because each is as big as Virginia or because it’s shaped like it… The first is more amusing). Also, most of their many canned sodas at just $ 1. Tax is included in everything already so, whether cash or credit, the math is easy. I’ve had the sausage, pepperoni, chicken bacon ranch, &BBQ chicken. All of em have been good. The level of grease varies but if you’re complaining about grease at a $ 5 pizza joint you’re missing the point :) Parking is the only issue here — some of the nearby business lots are okay if you want to chance it. The only delivery option is through GrubHub but the warm-up time is quick so you may as well head over and wait. ALSO they have a TV there to keep you entertained while waiting.

For the price, this is solid pizza. Lots of food, fun casual space, very tasty. This is the only true New York style pizza in town, so much appreciated.

Ordered pizza from here and it was ready when I got there, which was pretty quick. The slices are HUGE, you definitely only need one piece. The problem was the taste. I got a slice of pepperoni and it was disgusting. I don’t know if the pizza was from earlier in the day or what, but I suspect it was old. Maybe one day I’ll give them another chance, but it was so bad that I don’t think it will be any time soon.

God damn their slices are fat and totally worth every cent! My friend and I tried the roasted red pepper pizza, straight out of the oven, on our way back from bars one night and promptly spent the rest of our night in heavenly comas on the couch. Can’t wait to stop by again. The guys who work here are cute too!

I just stopped in here for a slice. Looks like an old school pizza place and the pizza was just that. Tremendous slice, think Penn Station NYC. Cheesy, well sauced, crispy and delicious. The perfect end to a night of nibbling around Charlottesville. I did ask for mine well done.

We stopped in because we had to know what the«Virginia slice» was. Well, it’s like a Texas slice, but wayyy bigger! The slices were at least 12 inches long! We ordered three pieces for two adults and a toddler and it was so much pizza! I think on a good day I could maybe finish one slice by myself. The toppings were delicious as well. We especially liked the Hawaiian special. Awesome pizza, great prices($ 5 a slice), and fast service. I think we’ll be back!
