Summary: new management has made it a great place with great drink at a great location. Come back if you haven’t in a while! Shenandoah has now acquired/partnered with Corner Cup and it’s awesome if small. They offer a smaller menu of drinks and such but it’s location makes up for it. Good prices for a good cuppa provides a good alternative to Starbucks and it’s infinitely better lit. They now have a buy 9 get 1 free drink with a punch card(better than even Starbucks’ gold card reward deal). Also most of the seating has access to a power plug which is hugely helpful. When it’s nice out you can take advantage of outdoor seating that’s similar to the Preston Ave branch of Shenandoah Joe. Indoor they also have a fake/electric fireplace to give some nice(if kitschy) warmth and glow. Also, they have a little elevated area(like a stage?) that maybe they do performances on but I’ve never been there for any of that. And of course, WiFi is free.

Great local place! I saw their sign from the sidewalk and went in. The the apricot iced tea was great, and the staff was very friendly too. Plus, free Wifi.

Great Coffee, Great Service, and Free Hugs! It doesn’t get any better than that! Everything I have consumed from The Corner Cup has been fabulous, from coffee to tea to apple cider. The owners are super nice and friendly. This is a great local shop that treats you like a person instead of a number.

This place is so great. I’m pretty picky about coffee(Starbucks just doesn’t do it for me), and I’m never disappointed here. Everyone who works there is great, the drinks are strong(unless you ask for them not-so-strong), and as the previous poster mentioned, the prices can’t be beat. Please stop in and support this(very deserving) fledgling local business!

I can’t believe I am the first to review this place, but the owner told me they’ve only been open 7 weeks. Anyway, I went to Charlottesville over the weekend to visit a friend. While walking through the old grounds at UVA we came across The Corner Cup. Their sign read, «come in for a tasty pumpkin latte,» which sounded great to me on a cold fall morning. It was great! Not too sweet and really delicious. I don’t often drink lattes, mainly because Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte is too sweet, and tastes too much like just pie spice alone, but I was really pleased with my latte at The Corner Cup, it was tasty, and my friend got a coffee for 1 $! 1 $! I live in DC and I can’t even make coffee at my own house for 1 $! And the coffee was tasty too! It is all locally sourced through a roaster somewhere outside of Charlottesville. The owner was there working behind the bar and was a really nice guy. He and his brother bought the place a few months ago and mange it together. Unfortunately, I don’t live in C-ville, but I definitely recommend this coffee shop to those who do!
