Stay away. I went to Heidi’s to have a shirt tailored and dress pants hemmed. When I picked them up 7 days later, both had strings hanging, pulls in the fabric, and they did not fit well. The thread color did not match my pants either. Now, I need to get it fixed at another tailor. I get the feeling that Heidi is a good seamstress, but her apprentices are doing all of the work now. The hours of the shop and the turnaround time are inconvenient too. Don’t waste your time.

Turn around was somewhat quick, however i had to go back several times(4 including the day i picked up). One of the alterations i requested was never done(boning needed fixing). I would have left it again to be fixed, but i didn’t have any more time(need the dress for a wedding). I was supposed to receive a call about it Tuesday or Wednesday but didn’t, so i ended up walking in Thursday to pick up(i leave for a wedding tomorrow, friday morning). It was let out slightly, so it can zip up all the way now, but i feel like the fit isn’t «perfect» in the bodice/bust area. They did a good job on the hem. To get a hem, fix a strap, and let it out i paid $ 90. Not sure how that price compares to other places…

My daughter needed her wedding dress altered. Many promises were made. We went in for three fittings after the initial meeting. NOTHING was done on the dress. No one bothered to let us know it was pointless to come to the shop. The last time in, the seamstress lied to my daughter, trying to show her that something had been altered when it hadn’t. When called on it, she admitted they had been«too busy» to work on it and that there was still plenty of time until the wedding. Well, they now have one less dress to work on. Maybe it means someone else will have their dress finished.

I had a few things that needed to be altered, A friend of mine recommended Heidi. Their service is so neat and quick. I found the storekeeper so sweet and helpful, she is so attentive and tries her best to accommodate all your needs. There are also two parking spots in front of the store and they also validate your parking ticket for the public parking right across their shop which make it very convenient for me. I am happy that I found this alteration place in C’ville.

I first learned of Heidi’s Perfect Fit because I was looking for a display case for my business, and found they were selling one on Craigslist. I found her price to be fair and she was so sweet in allowing me to leave the case there for months(!!) before I was able to move it into my retail shop. After working with her on that transaction I went to Heidi to alter two dresses. They were done quickly, at reasonable cost, and I was pleased with the results. Every time I am in her shop, Heidi is attentive and there are other customers in there, which I take as a good sign. As the other reviewer said, there are parking spots available in front of the shop, which is helpful. Unfortunately they are no longer open on Saturdays, except by appointment. Regardless, I would not hesitate to use Heidi for alterations again.

I’ve gotten a few things altered here and the service is quick and efficient which is most important to me. The pricing is negotiable! Each time I say how much I want to spend and Heidi is very good at working with my budget. I have only used Heidi to shorten a dress and turn jeans into shorts. I am not sure if I would use her for more complicated processes as I’ve seen some shaky reviews of her shop on other sites. However, it’s a good value. Plus, there is a parking spot right in front of the building reserved for her customers, and it’s been free every time I’ve gone. They are open on Saturdays until 4 pm which is very convenient and the turn around time is usually just a day or two — at least it has been on my small orders.

The storekeep is alright in her manner, but not the friendliest bug. I haven’t been terribly pleased with the fit counsel on my shirts(and thus have had to get a few re-altered), but admittedly the trends of fit for men change with time. You should be fine if you know exactly what you want, but look elsewhere if you are a newbie in need of some guard rails. The prices have been fair-ish.
