Lemongrass hasn’t been my favorite in the past because their curry dishes have been mediocre. However, their fried rice and pad see eaw is very large and worth it. Now I always get their pas see eaw with tofu and it’s the best I’ve had in Charlottesville so far.

Really gone downhill in the last few years. Food is mesiocre. Service is poor. I would not recommend this place to a friend.

First of all our server did not know anything; he didn’t even know what each dish was called. Besides him, this is definitely somewhere I wouldn’t go again. Maybe it’s not fair because I’m used to the food in NoVa but I was really disappointed when I got their curry. I thought you couldn’t really go wrong with curry but I guess I was wrong. To me, this tasted nothing like curry to me. It was bland and filled more with spice than flavor. I got a 7 which, btw, is pretty spicy! And I’m used to eating Bonchon spicy. So if your spice tolerance isn’t that high I’d recommend getting something lower(:

I feel like this place’s names were off. By that, it’s as if the same type of noodle dishes I get at other thai places are consistent but they weren’t here. Overall, it wasn’t terrible food– but it wasn’t that great either. The plus side they made their tofu just like they would their chicken, so the flavor was great for orange tofu ‘chicken’. Spring rolls were very typical and so were the curries. Good portion sizes.

my caveat– im not the biggest fan of thai food i got this as take out what i usually get at thai places: papaya salad-not a fan, dry, did not seem fresh green curry– i got the spicy level 7. big mistake! it was scorched earth on my face, to the point i couldnt really enjoy it, im a big fan of spicy but this didnt have any flavor except heat, which i dont care for at all price: 15 bucks overall: given the lack of options, i would say just avoid thai in this area and stick to some of the local fav’s

Underwhelming. We are in town for a doctors appointment and made a point to grab some Thai food here since the reviews were pretty good. It was definitely fast service, but the Panang curry my husband got lacked flavor and was mostly just spicy. I got the chicken noodle bowl. It was definitely better, but the flavors were still kind of muted.

This place definitely had my favorite pad thai in Charlottesville, but maybe my favorite pad thai everywhere. I’m not sure if it’s authentic or not, but it’s really saucy and flavorful and always comes out piping hot. Pad see ew is also really good! I also really like getting the phở here on the weekends. Not that there’s a lot of competition here, but so far I think it’s the best phở in the city.

This has always one of my favorite restaurants in CVille! My go-to is the Pad Thai, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. This place does get packed from time-to-time, but you can always order on the phone and take-out. You can customize the spiciness level of any dish, 1 – 10. This can be a bit misleading because some dishes are spicier to begin with, so each case will vary. If you love spicy food(like I do), a 10 will not be super spicy – but, you can always ask them to give you extra spices on the side. Highly recommend LG for anyone’s visit to CVille!

Wow! Loved this place! Ordered the red curry– so good! It had almost a teriyaki grilled flavor. It was really tasty! Also ordered #47 Spicy Lemongrass Chicken — Sweet and just a touch spicy both were $ 11 each. The only thing I wish there were more veggies. There was some peppers in the lemongrass chicken but just a few bites. Overall we really enjoyed the food. Will be back!

I was a little disappointed at first because I thought it was more of a Vietnamese joint, but as far as Thai food goes, this place is great! The atmosphere is very modern & clean, yet warm. The wait staff was very prompt with seating, drink orders, & the food arrived quickly. Everything tastes very fresh & authentic. Their menu is unpretentious & simple. I would go again!

Pretty decent Viet-Thai restaurant closest to UVA students. It is a bit pricier than other thai places though. They also tend to skimp on the white rice for the entrée dishes and you have to pay extra for more. But the rice and noodle dishes comes with a good amount. Seating is small and tight inside but it’s cozy and service is great. Forgive me for being a phở snob but I’m Vietnamese so I can be: the phở isn’t as authentic as a legitimate Viet restaurant. The broth has too much oil and fat, it’s murky and brown when it’s supposed to be clear, and they only give you what seems like little strips of beef you use for stir-fry and that’s it. Not my fave, but it semi gets the job done when the craving arises.

Delicious food! Watch out, it gets crowded at lunchtime. Also, they need a better system for spiciness level. They asked me how spicy I wanted my meal, and I said«mild». Then they asked my dad for his, and he asked what exactly they meant, and they said«how about from 1−10», and I think he said something like«7». When our dishes came, mine was almost inedibly spicy, and his was only a little spicy. Since when does«mild» mean extremely spicy?

Came here for dinner with some friends and ordered the lemongrass chicken. The sauce on it is a blend of curry, which is pretty good with brown or white rice. I’ve been here several times and have also tried the pad thai and drunken noodles, both are delicious as well. You really can’t go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Be careful with your choice of spicy intensity. It ranges from 1 – 10. I’m a big fan of spicy foods but usually get a 4 and sometimes a 5 if I’m adventurous enough. Anything above that I probably would have a hard time eating the dish, but it’s all up to personal preference. Excellent service and highly recommended!

I’ve been here multiple times. Great location as it’s one of the few walkable STABLE restaurants near the Grounds. A lot of restaurants on the Corner had gone through major changes during 5 years I’ve been at UVA but Lemongrass wasn’t one of them. It’s because it has reasonable price for good food and nice iterior. I usually get pad tai but today I tried curry. The server asked me how spicy I want in scale of 1 to 10 and I thought 6 wouldn’t be too spicy. I’m not gonna lie, it was spicy. I had to sip the milk tea with every bite of the curry dish, but it was still delicious. The brown rice was cooked very well and had purple rice mixed in to give pretty color to the rice. The chicken appetizer that we got was a little dry but the sweet and sour sauce accompanied the chicken very well. I would come here again but I recommend you not to underestimate the spiciness scale.

Your average thai restaurant, but probably the best in the area. Their service is quick and you might have to wait a few minutes during dinner hours — it gets crowded! For most of the dishes you are able to select the spicy level from the scale of 1−10… which is great because you can adjust the level according to your taste, but I also think this allows your food to become overly salty(since I think they just add more sauce when you request it to be more spicy) — I’ve tried spicy level 7 and thought it was a plenty of heat. We ordered the spicy fried rice and the drunken noodle and thought they were pretty good — they don’t skimp on your protein and give you a plenty, it’s a big bonus in my book!

This was the first Thai place, nay, the first RESTAURANT I had tried in Charlottesville when I first arrived. My family and I ate there and we met the owner! A very nice woman who told us a little about her history and the place, and we ordered food. Overall, the food is pretty good. The servers ask you how hot you want the food to be on a scale of 1 to 10, but to be honest, I never really found the food to be that spicy even when I got a 10-level dish. Even so, I’ve tried a good amount of the dishes and all of them have tasted pretty good and I never disliked a dish. The décor of the restaurant is very pleasing and a nice place for group meals or a one-on-one meal(if you want to take anyone somewhere ;)) They also sell Phở here on weekends from 12 – 5 which tastes okay. It doesn’t live up to NoVA phở standards, but it gets the job done. Well-priced with a pleasant staff, I have always found Lemongrass to be a good place to eat!

This is one of the few Thai places near UVA, and currently the only one to my knowledge that serves Thai on the Corner. I’ve been here several times and I’ve tried every single one of the appetizers, Tom Yum soup, chicken and tofu Pad See Ew, chicken Pad Thai, yellow curry, orange chicken dish, and so forth. One of the menu items I love the most is actually a side: their signature jasmine rice with coconut undertone. It’s unusual in a good way. I find that it gives their spicy dishes a nice counter flavor I haven’t had often. A few times now I’ve simply ordered an extra of it because it’s made for a nice left over! I like this place because it’s convenient and offers affordable lunch dishes that range from $ 8 and up. I wish they would make their portion sizes slightly larger, add a few more traditional Thai soups, and offer broader appetizer options. I am rooting for them and hope they maintain their presence on the Corner.

For Thai food, this place is decent for being in C-ville. The food is good enough to satisfy a Thai food craving but by far nothing spectacular. I haven’t tried the phở here yet but it seems questionable as this is Charlottesville and it’s a fusion restaurant. If you’re not picky with your phở and could care less if it’s authentic I’m sure it’d be good. But again, this is coming from someone who hasn’t tried the phở here yet. I find their scaling of spiciness a bit amusing in that even if I give a relatively low number like a 3 out of 10 I got a spiciness level of a 6. My suggestion is to give a number and then clearly specify what you want.
