Neroli Spa & Apothecary

I love the calm atmosphere of this place. It is soooo much nicer than the the typical nail factory. The service is never rushed. They pay attention to the details, and are just very nice. Excellent work. Candice is a gem. She does exquisite manicures & pedicures and facials.

This place is a complete rip off! I got a gift card for a facial & pedicure. The facial was nice & relaxing but I would never have paid $ 175 for it. Pedicures are $ 55 (expensive enough) then they catch you off guard & ask if you would like a mineral powder boost something another packet. I thought sure, why not, they don’t bother to tell you it’s $ 12 extra. Partly my fault for assuming it was included. (they acted like it was!) Then at check out they gave me a «complimentary» make-​up session & ask me a million questions about my beauty routine. (Collecting info. so they can sell to me.) Then all of a sudden there are all of the products lined up on the counter that they used in my facial for me to buy b/​c the last thing I want to do is look like I’m aging, right? When I said no they immediately said I could get 20% off. I felt like 3 ladies were pushing this stuff on me & I couldn’t say no enough. So idiot me walked out after spending over $ 400 on stuff I’ve seen on other web sites for soooo much cheaper. Don’t bother w/​this place… complete waste of time & MONEY!!!

Worst Spa in Charlottesville. I went to order my Becca mineral powder. The lady at the front desk (owner, I think) sold me the wrong shade. I tried to exchange the powder for my shade the same day, however, the lady wasn’t happy about it. She said, it wasn’t her fault if I wanted a shade that is lighter than my skin color. She also refused to order my shade which I was able to locate from Becca’s website. She said she wouldn’t credit my money and would give me a store credit. Are you kidding me? I would never step into this salon again after this horrible incident. I ordered my Becca powder from Sephora which is $ 6 dollars cheaper than Neroli. Do yourself a favor and avoid this spa.

Checked in for a manicure on a random occasion. So happy I did. The front desk girl was extremely nice and helpful. Got in right away. Filled out short questionnaire and then was offered snacks, coffee, etc. the place was relaxing and welcoming on all accounts.
So the main reason I’m writing this review is because of the nail technician that did my nails, Marcia. WONDERFUL PERSON! She was very personable and just a relaxing person to talk to-​felt like I knew her for years when talking to her. Overall, I gave this place a 4÷5… the missing star is due to the fact that my nail polish literally starting peeling away 2 days after (a lot earlier then a typical $ 12 manicure I’ve paid for in the past elsewhere). I know manicures don’t last long (maybe a week tops) but this was a little too quick after paying $ 30 for a spa manicure. My nails look beautiful and shiny underneath, so I’m wondering if its just the base coat they use. Besides that complaint, which I’ll make sure to let them know the next time I’m there, I’d go back for other services… especially to Marcia, she was great!

Beautiful spa with friendly and very competent staff. I’ve looked for a place like this for a long time. Glad to be a customer!

Called 3+ wks ahead for Thursday appt for Facial. Was using a $ 125 gift certificate give to me as a gift. Was told I couldn’t have my requested time of 530p so I took 5p and left work early. Woman making appointment was snippy… reminded me of some of those spas in NYC who are known for that attitude. Upon arrival — 15 min early as requested– spa appeared empty. To get the anti-​aging facial I chipped in $ 25 more plus tip. No bathrobe, no tea, no friendly relaxed greeting. Just a matter of fact facial that didn’t do the same thing on both sides of my face (skipped a step on half my face). I was finished in 50 minutes and left without seeing or hearing any other clients. Mediocre facial for outrageous price. So out of sync I almost went back to complain but didn’t have the time or energy. There are other choices in town that give you far better service at lower price. I may not have had a typical experience but I won’t waste my time trying it again.
