She’s been fixing my gear for years. Everything from ski straps to replacement zippers, to hemming pants for length and it all looks great. Always get’s an extra touch, great prices. I always go to Yady.

I took an expensive leather jacket here for a simple alteration, having the sleeves shortened. The woman told me it would look just like the original cuff, so I took my chance and left it with her. When I picked it up, I noticed that the stitching was wavy, and one of the cuffs has holes in the leather because she stitched it then pulled out the thread to do it again. None of these issues were mentioned when I picked it up. I decided against arguing about it because I knew it would go no where. This is likely a common experience for most alteration shops in Charlottesville. I have about 30 items that need to be altered. I will just look for a real tailor in Washington D.C. that understands quality work and has respect for people’s belongings.

I would not recommend wasting your money. I took my wedding dress here and not only did she do the complete opposite of what I asked, she argued with me when I tried to explain again to get it fixed. Now I am out the money spent on her and I have to get another seamstress to fix my dress. The shop does bad business.
