I love the Cowboy Palace! The new owners have done so much to improve this club, and the staff are always great. Come here for great country music, drinks and dancing! Edit: now with beers on tap, including Golden Road Brewery.

CP is one of the few live music venues that offers a variety of talent. The place is very friendly and they have some excellent musicians that grace the stage. The one-star reviewers… you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. CP is a historic piece of Chatsworth and the faithful and true lovers of live music will always be there to support what is a real gem in the No. West SFV.

I feel I have to counter Mike Z.‘s review. I know Mike Z.; he’d been coming here for years and he never had any complaints when Billy and Margery owned The Palace. My feeling is he simply doesn’t like the new owner, Chris J. The Palace is a friendly place where you’re treated like family. Chris J. has been implementing improvements to the bar(such as new, ADA-compliant restrooms, as the previous owners were grandfathered in and never had to make improvements). The staff member Mike Z. referenced has always treated me and mine with respect and courtesy. There have NEVER been entry-and-exit points on the dance floor. There aren’t any at other country-western joints, either. The Cowboy Palace Saloon is THE place to make the country scene in L.A.

This is a good place now that I hear it’s under new ownership. I have been a few times now and I have seen some great bands but my favorite is The Hollywood Hillbillies! They are just great! I’m not sure if true or not, but I heard that one of the band members is the new owner of the Cowboy Palace. In any case, this place is a lot of fun and a great place to meet some new friends. I’m going to bring some friends with me the next time I see that the Hollywood Hillbillies are going to play there again!

I’ve been a customer off and on for many years, and thought there would be an improvement in the place with the new owners. NOT, unfortunately. The place is run down and dirty. The dirt is no longer charming, it’s just dirty. Everything has gone downhill. The look hasn’t changed one bit, but the service has gone down, the band quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. My last visit(and probably really my last), the dilapidated toilets are still there, now with lovely duct tape holding the tank together. That’s the ladies room, be thankful to have it though… the men’s room is closed and the guys are lined up outside at the Andy Gump in the parking lot. Really! Too bad, it looks like one of the places to go to dance is on its way out. I remove my hat in silence. RIP Cowboy Palace.

I concur with all previous one star reviews. Fact: The county health department showed up in April to investigate unsafe food serving conditions on Sunday’s. Fact: The lessee has a disrespectful attitude towards Military & Firemen, I know, I’m one of them!!! Fact: The dance floor is very tiny. It does not have specific entrance and exit points making it very hazardous with people walking across the floor and the potential for mass injuries. Opinion: Non-dancers(squatters) that come in to simply take up space, don’t have the right to comment about the dance floor they never touch down on. Fact: The European bartender is very rude with sneering looks and a condescending voice when you order(this is after she has ignored you for a period of time) and she does not say thank you when receiving payment for drinks. Fact: Below is what you get from the lessee Chris J. when you write a less than favorable review. — [ ] Chris J: «Hey I just talked to Maggie and told her you are 86 I can live with out selling you one Texas T every other Sunday thanks again for the review.»

I am not really into country music– insert awe and disgust from country fans here– but this place was awesome. The dance instructor was okay but I loved the woman running the place that day with the red car(I forgot her name). She treated my large party(8 rowdy girls) with kindness! The other customers pulled us up to dance and we had a lot of fun learning some of the line dancing We were the youngest people there but everyone was young at heart. Will definitely come back. BBQ outside is a bit overpriced but that is not cowboy palace’s fault.

Love this place! It really doesn’t have a bad bar vibe to it and that is what I love. I can learn country dancing while making friends. Everyone there is friendly, inviting and helpful. I always learn some new dance move from Kathy and Gary. Not too fond of Mike(new dance instructor) yet… but giving it a try. Too bad the dance floor is a little too small & parking is very limited. Also, I really don’t think food should be served due to the lack of space. A few bar snacks is all that is needed. Nothing better than country music and a live band. Love this place!

Had a great time on Taco Tuesday! Josh is a Great DJ!!. Plays lots of line dances,(takes requests). He played two step dances, West Coast whatever got the crowd on the floor. Chrystal did a great job of teaching several line dances, made it really fun. There have been a few changes since the new owner took over. Hope you’ll stop in and check it out.

so many bad reviews only because this is the the Valley, LA. people aren’t use to various different types of characters at bars… as far as the European Bartender… yeah she is kinda rude but I love it… she has been there for a long time and I hope she stays. Its just how she is. The place wouldn’t be the same without her. I think she is awesome. The whole place is so awesome. Its the last great Honky Tonk in the LA area folks… lets keep it alive. Its an interesting mix of folks. Some nights its young people. Some nights is the older folks and most nights its a mix of both. Keep Honky Tonkin a live and go to This place.

I love this bar, the people, the atmosphere, the cheap drinks, the friendly family feel. I come there a lot. Friday nights it gets packed but is still a fun time. During the week you have your regulars. I’m sure it’s due to the wonderful bartender Irene. She’s the best, super friendly and knows how to work that bar! The Cowboy Palace is one of the valley’s best kept secrets. Nothing better than LIVEMUSIC too! Pick up a calendar, they are everywhere. You never know who will stop by Ive seen a lot of stars randomly show up. There’s even horse parking in the back so there’s no excuse why you cant make it here! :D I highly recommend this place for those of us country folk who get home sick. I’m originally from Texas so trust me when I say this.

The bar is so cute and the dance teacher is awesome, you can get free lessons before the line dancing. The thing that got this place a two star is service. Bar tenders were so rude. I didn’t appreciate the attitude and having to pay for water and the way they told us after making is wait was terrible. I hope they improve. Would make this a four star.

New Cowboy Palace! Same old b.s. I can’t believe the new owner kept that same awful bartender. You know, the lady with the European accent and the nasty attitude who gives you hard looks and makes bad drinks. I can’t speak for everyone else, but when I get an over priced weak drink from a rude person, I don’t feel much like dancing after. So I’ll go hang out down the street at Los Toros instead. Sorry, the new Cow Pal is a No Go for me.

This is an old school, California country bar. Line dancing, old men asking to dance with ladies, baskets of popcorn and cowboys shooting pool. If you’re looking for bro-country and polished Nashville style, you’ll be disappointed. This place is always a blast when we go(it’s a little pricey for such a down-home décor, but business is business). We saw a band called Eli Locke when we were there both times and they did some boot scootin’ good tunes. If you love to line dance and couples dance, this is one of the only locales outside of Orange County. Help keep this olé’ gem alive!!!

If you read all the negative reviews on this one, you’ll notice a common theme. We only went here because a friend of ours wanted to go country dancing for her birthday. Well, it was quite the experience. I guess there is a reason they have that confederate flag up there. They were not only discriminating against us because of the various races in our group, but because of our age too. The entire place was packed with people who were 60+ years old. The bartenders here are the worst. They’re grumpy old women who seem like they really dislike working there. The whole experience here just left a really bad taste in our mouths. And who goes to Chatsworth for a bar?! Lol that was my first and last time ever going to that area…

No cover charge! Yay for that. I don’t know how many times I randomly stumbled in here after coming out of Los Toros. Years ago I found a good deal on some cowboy boots and I swore to myself that I would use them for a night out at Cowboy Palace. I watched countless times as the crowd line danced and enjoyed the night while I kicked it by the bar. I swear this time around I’m dusting off these boots and going to hit the Palace. Oh ya! Cheap liquor too!
