Best place I’ve eaten in Chattanooga. Best mashed potatoes I’ve eaten in my life and the brisket is amazing.

Are here for the first time and I will be back. I had the hot hot fish sandwich and it was awesome. Our service was very good and the menu offers a wide variety. Other friends have eaten here and recommended it and they were spot on. My coworkers all got different items and each were highly complimentary of their choices. Clyde’s On Main — awesome job

Nachos are amazing. Atmosphere is very fun. The rest of the food is good but I haven’t found a great meal I would go back for often. Good spot for meals or early evening drinks but it’s not worth the line(or sometimes cover when there’s a band) late on weekend nights in my opinion.

Excellent food with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend most everything on the menu. From the smoked wings to brisket nachos to start are very good. Smoked chicken chili is always a good soup for start. Torta Mamacita is my favorite sammich along with the fried shrimp po boy. Choo Choo Hot fish is also good which had me sweating like a gypsy with a mortgage. For entrees the pork and brisket never disappoint. I would not only go back for the food but there is also ping pong to keep you entertained. I said ping pong people… Anyways do yourself a favor and go. Bye

Love Clyde’s. It has become a go to place. Casual atmosphere(it is loud though). We always have great service. Good enough beer selection and full bar. The food is quite good. Try the wings! Ping pong and shuffle board. Lots of paid parking close by. But you can find street parking within a couple of blocks. It is 21 and up after around 8 pm.

Layout is kinda weird… they have tables but also couches. Also there is a table tennis«cage» in the coener of the room. So it’s a bit odd to be eating but have ppl around lounging and drinking like a club. It seems to be having an identity crisis. There are VERYFEW options for vegetarian or vegan. Basically you can order salad with no meat or they have a veggie sandwich. Since we were with a large group event the majority(carnivores) choose the location. The service was fast and really friendly though. Very nice and accommodating to our large group.

The food was fine here, however when I received by credit card bill, I noticed the server took an additional 12 dollar tip for herself as if my 20% cash tip wasn’t enough. Very disappointing! Watch your credit card here.

My new favorite bar when we come to Chattanooga. Last June we stumbled past this place and liked it so much we came back on that same trip. The drinks are pored with an even hand(not cheap on the booze), beer selection is varied, all staff we have spoken with are just great, food is delicious and who can beat the awesome Irish bowling(aka shuffleboard)? We were back in town this week and had one night to go out for a few drinks and we both wanted Clydes to be the venue. We just love when we have a glowing opinion of a place and come back and it’s just as great!

Converted window glass shop into a sports bar restaurant. Very near décor and plenty of games and TV. It is a loud environment. However, there is outside seating. The menu is huge mainly offering bbq dishes. We had pulled pork and chicken sandwich plate. It was just ok.

The food is good and the atmosphere is fine as well. There is a wide variety of drink offerings and a decent food menu although it’s mostly focused on BBQ or sandwich type of food. I really liked the KFC sandwich(korean-fried chicken) and the price is reasonable. It can get a bit loud but for the most part it’s what you’d expect from a bar type of place.

Awesome place to enjoy a ice cold beer and American comfort food. The double cheeseburger is outstanding. The atmosphere is light and comfortable with a friendly staff.

What do you get when you cross Taco Mamacita and American Horror Story: Freakshow??? Clyde’s On Main! This place gets 5 stars for drinks, atmosphere and staff, but the food only gets them 4 stars. It taste microwaved/dry/overcooked, but the upside the hunch punch helped me forget all that. If it were my place, I would make a NOKIDS rule. Kids were running around like a playground while mommy got sloshed on the fun drinks. Fun for the moms, maybe. Fun for me, not at all.

While scoping out the location for a photo session on the Southside, we ended up right near Clyde’s on Main and decided to give it a try. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is that they have made excellent use of the space. At the front is a place for the band. Along the side is a row of booths, then in the center are large comfy sofa sections, then a row of tables next to the bar and then the bar. In the back, there is a small outdoor area, that I could see ping pong being played and I believe there is also shuffleboard, but I couldn’t see it from my view. We arrived on a Friday evening at about 5:30. We were seated immediately in a large booth table. By the time we left, it had completely filled up and there were people waiting for tables. Our waitress, Katie, came over immediately and asked us if we had ever been there before. When we said that we hadn’t, she explained the menu and gave suggestions. Very helpful. So many things sounded good, and it was a difficult decision, but my husband chose the Torta Mamacita and I chose the Badass Loaded BLT. The Badass BLT contains Clyde’s bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, melted white cheddar, Duke’s mayo and house pickles served on thick sliced multigrain bread. The bread was perfectly toasted and the cheese was nice and melty. The bacon and avocado kept it nice and decadent. My only complaint is that I would have liked more pickles and to skip the lettuce entirely. Hot wilted lettuce just really didn’t seem to add anything to the sandwich. The house made salt and vinegar chips were outstanding. I could have made a meal entirely out of them! I had a bite of my husband’s Torta Mamacita. According to the menu the Torta Mamacita is Smoked chicken, chorizo, pico de gallo, avocado, roasted jalapeño, pickled red onion chipotle crema, lettuce, fresh lime & cilantro on pressed bolillo bread. Served with a side of chile verde salsa. It was beyond amazing! Everything went together well. It was so fresh and flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. The bread was toasty on the outside, but nice and soft on the inside. Excellent! Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. I might try the Torta Mamacita for myself, or the pulled pork dinner.

Want to grab a drink, but not just sit at a bar staring at a TV? Go to Clyde’s on Main. I hosted a friend’s birthday party there a couple weeks ago and, despite it being my first trip to Clyde’s, I was not disappointed. There are many reasons I would. recommend this place: 1. Parking. They have it. Anyone who has ever gone out in downtown Chattanooga on a weekend knows a lack of parking can be a turn off. 2. Drinks. Good price. Great beer options, including a number of good ‘olé canned beers. The shots all mimic different candies. Sugar Daddy? Done. Sweet Tarts? Done. Green Skittle? Done. 3. Games. Because who wants to be bored at a bar? They have ping pong, shuffleboard, corn hole… It’s so much fun. Not only did everyone in my group have a good time, but we made some new friends around game tables at the same time. Great atmosphere for a good Saturday afternoon day drink. 4. Food. We got all appetizers to share, but let’s see: seasoned popcorn, nachos, cheese dip, hummus, French onion dip, Philly cheese steak egg rolls… Everything was delicious and perfect for a night when you’re having a few drinks, playing games, and just wanting some light sustenance. 5. Atmosphere. The service was excellent. Our waitress, Caitlin, was attentive and quick. She actually learned most of our names and drink. orders(and there were about 15 people in our group). The managers were out on the floor and stopped by to make sure we were having a good evening. Plus, the décor is just great. 80s movie posters, couches, and an open air feel to the place. All in all, the place has a great vibe and was just fun. I spent about 5 hours at Clyde’s and had a blast. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, casual, and decently priced night out on the town. I will definitely be going back for round 2, 3, 4…

I heard good things about this place and wanted to check it out for myself. I am so happy I did! The day we went there wasn’t much of a crowd and we were seated right away. I ordered the torta something or other and it was delicious. The chips were fantastic as well. The atmosphere is pretty cool and I can see hanging out here for a while if you were having drinks. The server hovered a little too much but his heart was in the right place and had a good attitude and was knowledge of the menu. There’s no doubt I’d visit again and I recommend anyone and everyone to check it out. There are so many goodies on the menu.

First time here and went with family about 630PM on a Sunday. Parking was not a problem and we did not have to wait for a table even though it was relatively busy. I was told it is packed on Friday and Saturday nights and I see why. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. It was a very unique set up with tables, high top tables, booths and even leather couches facing each other with a table between. There was also a pretty neat bar. The décor was very well thought out and cleverly done. The table we were at was made from the top of a pinball machine; very clever. The bar is large and the place had energy and a very welcoming atmosphere. They took an old Auto Glass building and cleverly kept the ambiance and made a great meeting place. It is a place that looks like younger people are hanging out at but families and all ages were there. They also had an area where people were playing ping pong. If you read my previous reviews you know I LOVE craft beer. .not a big selection, but a good selection. Sweetwater 420, Chattanooga Brewery and some standard domestic beers. also have a full bar. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which came with fries and it was very good. Since others ordered sandwiches with the different chips I had the opportunity to try the three types and sorry I don’t remember them but all were great. The service is important and the waitress was very good and we never had to hunt down someone for service, even though they were relatively busy. Prices for sandwiches about 10 dollars; so very reasonable. Quite honestly, I am looking forward to going back. I give it 5 stars for the type of restaurant; casual, friendly with great bar food and atmosphere. And I don’t give out 5’s very easily :-) OH I Forgot.update. re: Parking… it sucks. you have to pay to park if you can’t find a place to park in the street or one of the few parking places in back of the restaurant. :-)

I liked this restaurant so much I’m going back soon. They should call it Clyde’s Bar B Q. I sat at the bar next to a lawyer who already frequents this restaurant. He recommended anything bar b q. Also, Gary N. advised me that I should try their bar b q here. So. menu items ordered: bar b q pork sandwich, bar b q chips, a side coleslaw, and a side of pickles along with sweet tea. Anyway, I sample tasted all 6 sauces that they have here. The six bar b q sauces are; Alabama White bar b q, From here mustard, Clyde’s Original, Spicy, Mexican Coke, and Sweet Lily. My favorite was the Alabama White bar b q sauce, the lawyers favorite was the mustard sauce, and two bartenders I asked what their favorite is and they both said Alabama White bar b q sauce. The bar b q sandwich was delicious and filling. I tried all 6 sauces on small portions of it to find out my favorite. I can tell they smoke the pork like most bar b q restaurants in the south. The bar b q chips was a perfect choice of side for the sandwich I thought. They just«went together». The sweet tea was southern sweet tea just what I like. The sandwich also came with pickles, cole slaw and onion.

This place has a great feel when you walk in. Unlike some bar type restaurants it is very comfortable inside. Very laid back atmosphere. Shuffleboard tables on one side and ping pong on the other side. Large section with couches for casual drinks. Also, very impressed with the large bar and extended bar area next to deck area. The deck can have windows open or closed depending on the weather and temps Looking around the food looked great. I chose the BBQ chicken dinner with baked beans and slaw. Not a fan of the slaw but that is more my taste. I am sure it will be a hit for some people. The smoked chicken was very tender and comes with a lite dry rub. You add your sauce of choosing. For me the sweet BBQ. Not bad and I would say similar to Sticky Fingers as to the way it’s cooked. Service was spotty. Slow to take order, drinks went empty, etc. it was not very busy so no excuse other than being new. I give them A pass and will review this again after a few more trips. I will be back

Let me say I loved this place. Just opened last week on Main Street in the Southside. Great vibe, big open space. Decided to go for lunch on Saturday and it was full. Sat on the patio that has big windows that open to the outside. Would have loved to sit inside on one of the comfy couches with old video game tables. Maybe another time. It was a warm and muggy day so we looked over the drink menu and decided to get the Frozen White Russians. Grownup milkshakes are so yummy. It was just perfect for the weather and sitting outside. For an appetizer I ordered the Candied Bacon. Oh lordy, that is some good stuff. Thick cut slices of sugary, gooey bacon. Not too sweet, you can still taste the baconeyness. Yes, I just made up that word. Feel free to use it. Came with their house-made pickles and some wholegrain mustard. Here’s an idea, Clyde’s — make a BLT with that bacon. Holy cow that would be good. For our entrée’s I ordered the Bahn Mi(to go along with my LOVE of Vietnamese food). Came with house-made potato chips. Now of course, this wasn’t a traditional Bahn Mi and I knew that going in but I was still slightly disappointed, hence the 4 stars. It really needed to be a bit more Asiany flavored, in my opinion, and not pressed & grilled. My suggestion, make the pork BBQ’d, don’t grill the sandwich, more daikon and add the jalapenos. Just a thought. The BF ordered the Beef Brisket plate. He’s from Texas and has yet to find a place that does Brisket they way he thinks it should be. He is hard to please. That being said, he did say it was good. He loved the side, the mayo slaw and the baked beans. I tasted it and thought it was very good. Love that they have 6 different BBQ sauces to try. I’m a saucy kind of girl. One of my nicknames is the«Condiment Queen» so believe me when I say they had some good sauces. Very different. My fav was the Coke BBQ sauce. Can’t wait to go back and try some other things. Off to a great start, Clyde’s.
