I’m a foodie, but I have to say service always is worth two stars of five. I’ve have been to 5 or 6 other Ruth Chris in the last and the service as always really impressed me more than the actual food. This experience was the exact opposite. I guess I should have expected to have been treated like 3rd class because of our attire. We were on our way to sixflags for Father’s Day when my wife and son decided to check into Ruth for a quick brunch before heading out. Of course for sixflags we were dressed in t-shirts and shorts. We called and surprisingly no wait so we said ok let’s try the local Ruth Chris. We ask for bellinis, the waiter brought mimosas, after we told him he just said well I put them in for bellinis and left. Our food came, we are and it was wonderful but our waiter never showed agin until we were almost done. We asked for two cokes when he came back, he decided to wait on two other tables and disappear for another 25. By the time he brings out drinks we are done and I hand him the credit card. He sits the drinks down and says” I guess you don’t want these”. I was really shocked coming from such a so called customer service based establishment. I tipped him 10.00 on a 89.99 tab and I almost felt bad about that but I wanted to make sure he didn’t think I just forgot the tip. Crabstack was great and the lobster mac was probably the best I’ve ever had but still not worth disrespect from a waiter.

I have dined at several Ruth’s Chris Restaurants in other cities around the country and remember them as an over-the-top dining experience. Thinking my wife would enjoy this, I took her to celebrate our anniversary. The service was ragged, and the food was nothing special. When her small filet arrived medium well instead of medium rare as ordered, I looked for Michael, our waiter, to complain, he was no where to be found. After ten minutes, I got up and asked two other waiters to get Michael. The second asked the problem, and responded that«these hot plates will overcook the little steaks», but she did get another one prepared. Of course, my steak was long gone by the time my wife’s second one arrived. The side dishes were mediocre except the mashed potatoes which tasted exactly like instant potatoes. The only thing over-the-top was the bill, which I expected. I cannot imagine why we would ever go back to Ruth’s Chris, when there are better steakhouses in town at much lower prices.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here this weekend, and it was worth every penny. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful, we got our drinks for free because it was our anniversary and they sprinkled happy anniversary confetti on our table. Overall experience was even better than I expected!

Bartenders are amazing. Nick, Laura, and Nathan went above and beyond recommending drinks and making sure we were taken great care of. Service can’t be topped. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Chattanooga.

I was contacted by Andrew via phone about our previous experience. After speaking with him for several minutes, he asked that I give them another try and mailed out a gift certificate for me to use. I took my fiancé on Saturday evening and made a couple of changes to our last visit… they made all the difference. I ordered the 6OZ filet and lobster. My fiancé ordered the stuffed chicken breast. Mashed potatoes and asparagus for sides. This time I requested no hot plate and no butter. Service was excellent as last time. Food was EXCELLENT. Steak came out cooked too perfection, the lobster was the best I’ve had since arriving in Chattanooga(they also keep the butter for the lobster heated using a candle type holder-I don’t like butter on most things but for lobster, it’s a must). Fiancé was very happy with her meal even though she couldn’t quite place what the stuffing in the chicken breast was. Experience was a completely different one from the first. I can’t stress it enough, if you don’t like butter, avoid it because it can ruin a otherwise excellent meal. Thank you to Andrew and the rest of the staff, will be seeing you again in the future!

We have been here numerous times. While the entrees, steaks are great, everything else seems to have slipped. Salads are just so so. Lettuce in our salad was sort of white not green. Sides, mashed potatoes and spinach were definitely not up to par. Am not sure why they now serve the steaks on ceramic plates, since they use to be on lodge type cast iron servers, this has been since our last two times. Also they offer two soups, lobster bisque which is probably good(having grown up in Maine would probably past here in Chattanooga), and a sausage type of soup. My God how about French onion or a great mushroom bisque. These are probably small points but…

Really disappointed, went for anniversary tonight and ordered the Sea Bass, it wasn’t very good. My husband ordered the filet and said it was amazing, I don’t eat steak!

So I’ve decided to try out this steakhouse as I’m an avid foodie from Texas to Tennessee. I ordered the 12 oz filet medium well. When it came out it was medium RARE. Had it sent back only to receive the next one butterflied and WELLDONE! So I had to eat a well done steak dipped in A1 sauce with my cold sides. I’m not a complainer so I paid the 160 $ bill and left 18% tip but overall very unhappy with my steak. I’ve had a more flavorful one at Outback Steakhouse. Now my wife’s was medium and made to order also her lobster was great! The bread pudding is awesome! Hope this review helps. The up side was TIMMY the valet guy was super friendly and had our vehicle fast! I’d rate him a 5STARS for valet! Thanks Timmy!!! UPDATE!!! I went back on a gift card I was given from my first visit. The steak was amazing! I couldn’t ask for anything better. Thanks again!

Went to Ruth Chris with a group of about 20 friends. it was a surprise for one of the ladies birthday — had to fight with management to get them to wave the 300 room fee — which in my opinion is ridiculous — then when some of us arrived early atv11:30 — so we could get there before our friend we were told by the hostess they were not open yet and we’re made to wait in the lobby until enough of us came to make a difference. Food was okay — I had the chicken bruscetta — but it was severed on such a small plate that it was hard to cut and eat it without it spilling onto the table. Not a good value in my opinion — service was good. This was not their fault !!

Service was outstanding. Food was below expectations. It’s almost as though these owners have no idea what a good steak looks like… I understand they own the Charlotte locations. My experiences in those two restaurants is similar to tonight’s…

Good, consistent steaks and seafood. Steaks have a little too much butter for my liking but I didn’t turn away :) the Onion rings are fantastic BtW!

Great place for happy hour! Awesome mixed drinks! Everything is fresh. No other place can beat it! The hot plates really add to the steaks. Ask for Whitney, she’s the best bartender!

Women, don’t come here, you’ll be ignored. Service is terrible. When you come to a nice steak house, the service is a big part of the experience. We waited forever and our waiter never checked back. I wanted another cocktail but we gave up. The table next to us was a group of guys and the waiter poured over them. They arrived after us… but their cocktails came up first and the waiter checked on them, but not us. We were women so I guess they wrote us off… big mistake as we were a group of women from out of town on expense account… oops…your bad guys.

Well. This is a tough one to review. The food was good ordered the 12oz filet with the crab and asparagus topping and ceasar salad. I had the drinks: the blueberry mojito, snd 2 moscow mules, both were good. so, let’s start from the beginning. I sat at one of the booths at the bar which was nice. The server promptly greeted me and asked me if I would like a drink.. So let’s stop here.. all of the other people around me ordered drinks from a tablet.. This wasn’t offered to me. No biggy however, I waited 10 minutes to get my first drink. The server brought drinks to other guests that ordered after me. at this point I knew my first experience at ruth chris was not going to be good. . I ordered my food and the Salad was brought promptly and was delicious. I had to wave my server down to order another drink.. I waited 10 more minutes for this drink after already waiting 10 minutes to get his attention. He didn’t Apologize just dropped my drink off. Now its been 40 minutes since I ordered.. The filet came looked great.. But iy was not medium rare.. At this point im just ready to eat and move on. I was never asked how my steak was or nothing.. Disappointing! My bill totalled $ 117 after taxes and I feel I was mistreated as a customer.. I still left 15% tip for whatever reason.. I am working in the area until the end of April.. I’m not. To sure I ll return. . I had a much better experience at the competitor by the mall. Minus 2 stars for poor service

Met a couple of friends here for Happy Hour in the bar. They have a pretty decent Happy Hour to try out some things if you can’t afford a meal at Ruth’s Chris… it’s rather an expensive steak house. I had the Ruby Red Greyhound drink and it was delish! Very refreshing. This wasn’t a Happy Hour drink but well worth the splurge. They do have a pretty good selection of drinks for $ 5 for Happy Hour. We tried some appetizers as well. The stuffed mushrooms were very good. Big mushrooms and the stuffing inside was very nice. We also tried some scallops and they were also great and huge! The BBQ Shrimp appetizer is very tasty as well. Has a great buttery sauce to mop up with some bread. I ordered the Osso Bucco ravioli and it was very nice. Rich sauce, not too much. A perfect bite. Hope to go back to try the steak. This is a nice addition to the ChattTown area.

3.5 to 4 stars. It just wasn’t as amazing as it has been before for me. Maybe becuase. I had a two yr old with me? Don’t take a two yr old to this place. The filet is still one of the best I have ever had. I love how it is served on the hot plate. It is a melt in your mouth steak, forealzzzz. We also got the crab cake appetizer. Huge pieces of crab inside. Very good flavor. But, nothing unique to it that really made it stand out for me. Finally, the brea pudding was dry. The wife and I both agreed that it was not one of the better bread puddings we have had. It needs some ice cream or something to get rid of the dryness.

This particular location has only been open a few weeks, so when friends suggested lunch, I accepted the invitation. We were welcomed warmly and seated immediately. Our server advised that we dined on the«first day of lunch»(07/15/2013). She kept our water and teas refilled promptly and was courteous. I ordered the Scallops with summer succotash. This dish was $ 16 and small in nature. There were four medium sized scallops served on a bed of succotash with a drizzle of a sauce that very flavorful. Not spicy. The dish was very pleasing and I used the bread to finish the remaining sauce. One of my lunch mates was celebrating a birthday, so there was a complimentary bread pudding. It was large enough for four ladies to have 4 – 5 bites each. With the dessert, I ordered coffee. The coffee was excellent. Someone ordered a cappuccino which came out cold, but when it was brought to the server’s attention, a new coffee was immediately prepared. Having read he previous reviews and considering those patrons were less than impressed, I paid close attention to what others ordered. From what I can tell, it appeared as though staff took those poor reviews into mind. I enjoyed my lunch and have no problems or concerns to report. Management(the guys in suits) stopped by to thank us for our patronage and then again to inquire as to our overall satisfaction. Keep doing that RC.
