I have stayed here before, it’s a decent hotel, sort of decent cable TV(24 channels, but didn’t have Hallmark…). And I was especially thrilled and tickled when I had a problem with the Wi-Fi and the desk clerk actually came to my room to help me get on the Wi-Fi and didn’t hide behind the«it’s probably your computer settings» excuse… FIVESTARSFORTHAT! Ok, my three stars is based on room to park an RV. I came to Chehalis to have some work done on my RV that will take a week. I had to park my RV for one night at this hotel. The hotel seems to cater to long haul truckers as there were three 18 wheeler trucks parted on the gravel area between the shrub hedge bordering the paved parking lot and the street. This is where you… COULD… park an RV. However, caveat. That parking area is full of ruts and deep and wide pothole/puddles. It’s very tricky to navigate around those deep and wide pothole/puddles. In fact, I think the 18 wheeler trucks created those deep potholes that end up being wide puddles. I say this because one of the 18 wheeler trucks was a truck carrying a lot of cars, and their back end got lodged in one of the deep puddles. You can navigate around those puddles, but it’s treacherous. Or, if you can get under their 12′ 6″ overhang, you could still park next to the shrub hedge on pavement across all the parking areas. There are two parking areas on this pavement, one is along the hedge, and across from it is the parking area close to the hotel rooms. However, if that side of the hotel is full of guests, you might have trouble turning the RV around on that side of the shrub hedge.(If you have a toad, FORGETIT!) Lasty, you could park where I finally did, on the side of the hotel along a stone wall. You park across a bunch of parking slots. And then you pray nobody hems you in. Well, the outside gravel area is for the big rigs, but really treacherous trying to park there. But for other amenities… Morning breakfast seems to consist of only muffins, waffles, coffee, and juice. Nothing more. There is laundry room, 1 washer 1 dryer. Washing is $ 1.25, drying is $ 1.50. First time I have seen drying cost more than washing.

I have backpacked and stayed in hostels all over the world so I’m pretty easy going when it comes to where I stay. We stayed here on our way to Portland during the STP bike ride. We got a hotel as some in our group did not want to camp. We all regretted that decision… Without making this review a novel I will just cover the worst parts– when we checked in the woman asked us if we would like a smoking room or one w pet odor.(Why were those two things even an option?!) I am sensitive to smoke so chose pet odor. What they should have said was«cat piss» because that’s what it was. Along with a nice mildew smell anytime I wasn’t smelling cat piss. Along with the smell, the room was dirty, the windows were so old and cheap they barely closed, and there was a rolled up ball of pubic hair in the bathroom. Yes, you read that correctly. My dad pulled the curtains closed and then went to go wash his hands. We had just bike 109 miles and continuing on to Portland through the night seemed like a better option when I saw and smelled our room for the night. I will say, on the phone prior to arriving the staff was very friendly and helpful. They were anything but in person. To cap it off, we paid $ 180 for the night, which was probably jacked up because of the bike ride got g through town but it was exorbitant for the quality. I will definitely never stay here again.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel this past weekend while being in town for a funeral. I am assuming this was one of the more affordable hotels in the area as my dad booked and paid for it for us and he can be a little cheap. I am realistic and understand that you get what you pay for but I don’t think that should be an excuse to pretty much give up on being a decent hotel. There were definitely things very wrong with this hotel(listed below) and if we ever come back we will never stay here again. 1. We checked in over an hour after the allowed time and our room wasn’t clean yet. It took almost 30 minutes after we checked in before we could actually enter our room which was frustrating. 2. The bed was hard as a rock. I mean honestly, a slab of concrete would be more comfortable. I’m actually looking forward to get on the plane so I can sleep more comfortably. 3. The free breakfast was a joke. It was free English muffins and coffee. That’s about it. 4. It advertised as having free wifi when you drive up but when you get into your room there was no information on it anywhere. 5. My husband had an iron and ironing board delivered to the room and there was a disgusting brown stain on the cover of it. The only thing that this hotel has going for it is the staff was friendly and the room was clean. I don’t think those things should be a pro though as its expected when renting a hotel room that it’s going to be clean and the staff is going to smile at you. Sorry econolodge you don’t get credit for being average. If you come to chehalis i would pay the extra money and stay at the best western across the street. From the outside it looked like they had it more together.

I give this hotel 4 stars because I have 4 pros and they are: 1.The room that we stayed in was the best for the price that we paid. 2.The bath room was so neat and clean and I hope they renovated the bathroom because everything looked new to me. 3.The receptionist was so cordial and was so prompt that we had our check-in done in few mins. 4. The hotel has a private parking and the place is so secured and safe to stay for a family. The only cons that I have is breakfast. I would say the breakfast was moderate and hence had to give them a four star otherwise this hotel deserves a five star.
