Fishbones

I ate here for my birthday on Sunday, everything was exceptional. I got the Ahi tuna with seaweed salad, and my parents got a fisherman’s platter and fried haddock. the interior is very well decorated and clean. Our server was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Great dining experience with excellent flavors, every special request we made was accommodated. We will be returning. Highly recommend.

Lobster is amazing. Steak cooked to perfection. Best grilled seafood medley that I’ve ever had. And the desserts were so delicious. If you are in northern Massachusetts or in New Hampshire, this place is with the drive. Absolutely amazing food and well worth the price. The crab cakes aren’t the best, but still really good. Ask about the Snicker-​tini if you want an amazing taste. No complaints.

Had a late lunch at Fishbvones last week wih a few friends and was completley surprised! I hadn’t been here in several years because of my mpression that our last visit had been mediocre at best. My seafood casserole was fresh and delicious and a couple of my companions had the seafood medeterranian which they also said was great. Add to this, a faboulos lemon drop martini and great service from our waitress, and lunch was an experience that bears repeating! I’ll be back soon!

My favorite seafood place in the area! Love going here on a Saturday night, sitting at the bar and enjoying the amazing food and atmosphere. Wait staff is amazing and personable. My favorite part is seeing what the specials are of the day on both the drink and food menu. They always have something different! Highly recommend their Tuna and blueberry cosmo.

Today I had the crab cake sandwich and my husband had the special, which was a buffalo shrimp Gorgonzola wrap. I got sweet potato fries instead of the regular and my husband asked for a sub of mashed potatoes. We came a little after noon on this Saturday and by the time we left it was getting busy. We didn’t dwindle because we had our little one with us. I can totally see why it wasn’t an empty restaurant! The food was really great! My crab cake was full of crab meat, hearty, not too crunchy or soft, with tomato and lettuce on a delicious brioche roll (or something.) We loved everything we ate! I want to make the drive again to try so many more things!

what to order: lobster risotto when on special. Holy shit is this good.
what not to order: crab cakes, not a good consistent recipe, tasted weird on both times we got them and just a ball of mush. and steak (got the surf and turf once). The steak is of very poor quality. Might be one of the worst steaks Ive had out.

This place is so wonderful each and every visit. I have never been disappointed with a meal or the service. I got takeout this weekend that included a lovely baked seafood plate. The seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection. I sat at the bar and had a drink while I waited. The wine selection is great, and the bartender was amazing. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it

Frankly, we’ve stopped going to Fishbones. The food is fabulous, that can’t be denied… but the seating is too «tight», and the noise level is HORRENDOUS. All you can hear is glasses clinking at the bar, and raised voices with everyone trying to talk to the people they’re with.

A fancy shmancy seafood joint that serves heavenly lobster rolls. My friend says they could have been better (warmer toast), but we did get it to-​go so who knows. The lobster was so flavorful and the texture was just perfect. I wanted to shrink into a miniature person, crawl into the lobster roll and just die there.
The clam chowder was wonderful. They were very generous with the clams and it had a pleasantly complex flavor.
The fisherman’s fry my husband got was amazing. The fried prawns in his platter was so amazing. Firm, large, and so fresh you could taste a hint of sweetness from the shrimp. This is what fresh and well-​done seafood tastes like? I could never go back to anything less.

The Seafood Mediterranean is by far the best seafood pasta I’ve ever had in my life. It’s true. coming from Denver. I am seafood deprived. so maybe I’m speaking too much from a newbie perspective. but still, it’s definitely something I would come back to eat again whenever I’m in town.
The scallops, jumbo shrimp, and lobster tasted so fresh and juicy. thinking about all the flavors is making my mouth water as I type this review. The pasta was perfectly cooked. and the sauce was perfectly savory and buttery.
There was about a 40 minute wait to get a table. but there was plenty of bar spaces where there was no wait. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The only fault is that they don’t have beer on tap. and it’s all bottles. :(NO BUENO.
It’s okay, I’ll still come back for that delicious seafood pasta. Mmmmmmm~

Very good, but after hearing this place talked up by everyone in Chelmsford, I can’t say that it really met the hype.
First of all, since it’s so popular, the wait is high even on a weekday. That’s fine, but when we called in, we were told we could get a table at 7:45, and then when we got there, we were told it was a 30-​minute wait. That’s not exactly how reservations work, but I’m not going to hold it too much against them. We waited at the bar and got a round of drinks. Bartender was a bit rude.
Food was very good, but nothing really spectacular. I did appreciate that their scallop appetizer was very generous — 10 medium-​sized scallops, which definitely feels more filling than places that only give you 3 or 4 larger ones. The broiled scallops came with a weird bread crumb that I kind of wish hadn’t been on it — if I came back, I would probably try grilled. But on the bright side, it also came with two sides. The mashed potatoes were delicious, so that made up for some disappointment on the scallops. Fried calamari appetizer was also very good.
Overall, this experience was good, but I’m not sure it measured up to everyone saying it’s the BEST in the area.

Can I give this place no stars? Had a bad experience at the restaurant. The server was nice however didn’t know they didn’t have any specials available. The general manger could not get a hold of her she was out sick for from what her staff told me was weeks! I send out a letter no response. Called and talked to every one else but not her. Finally get a hold of her she is nice but told me she hates Unilocal we as Unilocalers can’t be trusted for a honest review

Fish bones is my go too place and I live 20 miles away! It meets my four criteria for any great restaurant.
1. Reasonable priced
2. High quality food
3. Great enthusiastic and helpful staff
4. Warm and inviting space that’s impeccably clean.
I have been here several times and have never been nothing but extremely satisfied and pleased with the quality of service and product. The owner has paid very close attention to all points of service.

Oh how i wish Fishbones lived up to its potential. I’ve been numerous times because its nearby and the alternates aren’t great.
Pro’s — bartenders are pretty good and pour a solid drink. One of the largest martini’s around. The décor is nice and has a beachy feel. There are the obligatory flat screens as well. Good selection of liquor and not the just the standards.
The apps can be good. The calamari, the tuna, and the fried clams were all tasty.
They make one of the best burgers around. I know, burger at a seafood place but Fishbones does it well. Very nicely seasoned, cooked perfectly, brioche roll, etc.
Con’s — Most of the seafood is just meh. Yeah i know it’s a seafood place and saying the seafood is meh is pretty broad but I’ve tried many dishes. Recent example this past week (30-​Jun-​2015) went to dinner with some friends from out of town. It was my buddies girlfriends first time to have steamed lobster. Yup… no steamed lobster. They were also out of 1 of the 2 app specials and 2 of the entrees. @ 6pm on a Tuesday night. Well a little disappointing but we press on.
I had the Mediterranean special (combo of shellfish & lobster over linguine w/​white wine & garlic) Shrimp & pasta overcooked. Scallops undercooked. Lobster was cooked right.
My wife had the special that was out of crab cake but the house was substituting snapper. Well that snapper was waaaaay fishy. Like a couple days past peak.
Service was spotty and waiter didn’t even inquire about my wife’s meal (two bites taken… one she had and the one she sneaked past me with a «hey taste this» to confirm it was overdone). Didn’t want to send food back so let it pass.
This is about par for Fishbones. Advice; Sit at the bar; have a couple drinks, some apps and catch part of a sox game.

My last review was five stars, as I had sat at the bar. But the last two times I’ve been in, I’ve sat on the patio, and the service is just really not up to par out there. I feel bad writing this but I think their management should know. We ordered oysters as an appetizer, and they arrived before our drinks and before our silverware. I had to go inside to ask for silverware and was told «oh we will bring you some.» They showed up eventually but still… Shouldn’t place settings be the first thing you get? Just a thought. I’d hate to see this place go down hill. Food wasn’t as good as I remembered, both the scallops and baked potato were dry :/​I’ll give the bar seating another try.

This was a great Sunday lunch experience. Our server, Sara, was training, she was awesome from start to finish .
The food was 5 star. We started with crab cakes and Ipswich fried clams, the best of both I have ever had! Then we both had the grilled Cesar salad, I add grilled jumbo shrimp and my husband added lobster salad. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Said YES to the DRESS celebration today!
We stopped in here after bridal dress shopping at Chantilly Place right across the street to celebrate… When we walked up they have great outdoor seating… Walked in and the place is so cute inside and big! Plenty of bar and dining seating!
We sat at the bar and the bartender was great!
I ordered the fresh berry margarita! It was fantastic! FRESH! JUICY!
Garnish was pretty and it came in a mason jar! My sister got a cosmo that was delicious too all fresh juice! He gave her a PERFECT pour, and even gave her the ice on the side!
Had the Cheese and Honey appetizer… it was AMAZING! Cheese was Gouda delicious… Honey and comb was so sweet! The bread was my favorite part… Sweet Earl Grey tea bread… the bartender even gave us extra! It was a great presentation as well! He even brought the check early when we asked him to so we could head out as soon as we finished. Everyone, the other customers there and the staff were so friendly!
I cannot WAIT to come back here and have dinner… I will update my review when we do!!!

This place was freakin amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere. Getting to the parking lot was tricky but well worth the experience.

If you are looking for great seafood, this is the place to be! Great ambiance! Great service! Great food! That makes five stars. This is my go to place when I visit and stay in
Chelmsford! The oysters are absolutely incredible! There is not one thing on their menu that I haven’t loved. From their deep Fried clams to their lobster roll to their mixed grilled
Seafood to their lobster, their salads to their soups… everything is great! This is my second trip to Chelmsford and I have eaten their at least once everyday I’ve been there. I have even eaten there couple of times a day. I highly recommend that place.

Had a great lunch here.
First off, I love the décor. It’s slivery blue inside, airy and calming. They do the ocean theme enough to make it pleasant, but they don’t overdo it. It’s spacious and well-​laid out, and I saw a smaller nook in the back that looked more private and intimate. At first my only complaint was that it was a little to cold inside, but the waitress was kind enough to notice I still had on my jacket and turn the air down (which it seemed other diners appreciated as well).
The menu was great– a lot of fresh seafood options. There were so many things I wanted to try, but I had been craving a good lobster roll and so ordered that. it came with a side salad and fries, both of which were good, but the generous portion of delicious, slightly sweet, tender lobster meat was the real star of the show. My friend ordered the mixed grill, and said it was great. We also tried the bacon-​wrapped scallops, which were really good.
Overall, a lovely lunch experience. If I’m back in the area, I’d love to stop by for dinner and some wine sometime, and see what the ambience and crowd look like in the evening.
