Excellent location, beautiful view, professional and courteous staff, amazing food and wonderful cocktails. Make sure to get the braised short ribs which are to die for! They also have an awesome happy hour with buy 1 get 1 free.

An exceptional experience this past Monday night! We started off with the AMAZING Pork Belly appetizer, which I’m pretty sure was a graciously generous double portion due to our later dining time and our request to share it. A great bottle of Alabarino shared, and the Pork Paillard and the Sesame Salmon made for a memorable(and ROMANTIC!) meal. We were later arrivals but not rushed out. And even without sunset views, a very pretty, perfectly-lit space. I will be back!

Over Fourth of July weekend we ate dinner here. The service was good. Our waiter was friendly and nice. We shared the fritters and the mac n cheese to start, and then for dinner we had the sea bass special, scallops special, pappardelle with shrimp, and the pork chop. The food was good but nothing special, really. And it was overpriced. There are not too many options in the area, so they can probably get away with doing whatever they want and charging a lot. I wonder how things might change if there was more competition. I bet they’d reduce their prices and maybe try to up their game food-wise. Though that’s total supposition…

Hmmm. I was so looking forward to dinner here but last night’s experience was less than phenomenal. We visited for the day and went to dinner with island residents who eat here often. The appy and salad were delightful, but one steak was sent back because it tasted«sour» and the other steak was tough and grisly. The first girl got sick, the other just«uncomfortable.» The other two girls thoroughly enjoyed their seafood dinner. I will say you can’t beat the location for the sunset, and I will probably give them another shot at some point, but as for last night, not impressed.

Starting off with a truffled Mac and cheese … delicious. Perfect amount of truffle and cheese main course is a grilled pork chop. Sitting at the bar is the only way to fully experience this fabulous night time jazz bistro in Cherry Grove. The locals and characters are entertaining. And the owner Ron King not only amazing look at but is as authentic as is his delectable food. Don’t walk runt to Top of the Bay Perfection.

Went to top of the bay this afternoon. Been coming to Cherry Grove for 10 years and I haven’t had a meal like this before the service was very good and the food was unbelievable and another thing the food was well portioned. I highly recommend this restaurant when u come over.

The only«true» restaurant in the The Pines and Cherry Grove area. The location in Cherry Grove is along the dock on the 2nd floor and offers a great view of the bay and dock. The decoration are very simple and the focus is more towards the large windows and the views. The food was very well prepared both in taste and on the plate. Drinks ordered were strong and service was very attentive. The price is on the high side. To those who find a $ 20 burger«too» expensive, go to the place down the road for $ 5 full meals. Highly recommend this place to anyone who runs out of food they bring to the island.

Didn’t seem that much pricier than other sit-down Cherry Grove dinner establishments($ 2 – 3 more per plate?), but the food and ambiance were heaps better than anywhere else we’ve ever eaten here. The chef knows what he’s doing!

By far my favorite place for dinner on the Island. Great food, outstanding service and a bartender who knows how to make a great cocktail. It’s a civilized little oasis at the beach.

Food is generally amazing, ambiance nice and casual… the occasional loud, drunk patron or ditzy server, but i’ve been dinning there for many summers and rarely leave disappointed! So if you want to watch a wonderful sunset, have generally delicious food and do some people watching, come on in, it is fun!!!

Location is really very nice — it was the only place I saw in the Pines or Cherry Grove where one can sit in a nice restaurant setting. Real cocktails in real glasses, decent plating on decent dishes, etc. Food was good, not amazing. It is overpriced, of course, because it is food on Fire Island, but the price is comparable to getting a sit-down meal anywhere else on the Island. Based on my limited experience, this is probably the right place to go if you find yourself on Fire Island thinking«I wish I could eat a meal without hearing pounding dance music or seeing someone in a speedo.» Of course, if you’re thinking that on Fire Island, you may be in the wrong place.

Very overpriced($ 22 for a hamburger?!?) and not very good. Our Chicken Cacciatore was dry, overcooked, and buried in this heavy tomato sauce that had little, to no flavor. Very disappointing and depressing when we thought of how we paid for that crap.

Love this place. Upscale, ambient, beautiful views of the bay and sunset and cozy bar. Professional waitstaff, good food. Definitely the place to go in Cherry Grove for a nice evening.
