Solid food, good sides and good service. Soondubu and LA kalbi and kalbitang entrees were all pretty good compared to general nj standards… can’t go wrong with usual korean fare here.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! If I could give a thousand stars I would. I have been craving to go back here ever since I visited last week. First of all the service was just phenomenal! Very attentive and super friendly. I had the soy garlic wing appetizer and may I say these are easily the best wings I have ever had I wish that I had gotten more than 4! For my entrée I had the spicy pork box and it was AMAZING it came with rice, and amazingly tasty salad and Japanese noodles. THENOODLES… I was practically licking the plate! So overall this is just perfection in a restaurant! Do yourself a favor and go! Don’t wait as long as I did to visit!

One of the best Korean places in the Philly/South Jersey area. They have great lunch specials that combine your favorite dishes. Highly recommend the LA kalbi, and soondubu, although you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Staff are fluent English speakers and very nice. As with most Korean places, you get complimentary bonchon(small side dishes) as appetizers and a yogurt drink at the end of your meal.

THISISBASEDSOLEYONTAKEOUT ~~~ WHAT a Friday!!! — a beautiful June pay day and our office was treated by a drug rep to Dolsot House for lunch. I had the ‘salmon box.’ The food was soo good — a really nice & perfectly cooked piece of salmon w a side of a light delish ‘mystery’ sauce. It came w/a salad w/the most tasty dressing I ever had. Again — a mystery as to what the heck was in it? Noodles rounded out my dish — they were thin and almost clear. Other co workers had spicy chicken and beef. All raved about the chicken wings. The sticky rice was yummy too. I’d really like to check this one out right in the restaurant! I’d give a 5 if it weren’t for my headache, suspiciously about ½ hour after I indulged. This usually happens to me when. .. MSG! Hope it’s just a coincidence!(My co-workers were parched a few hours later — thinking high sodium).

We ordered pick up for a night. We got the honey fried chicken, spicy fried chicken, kimchi fried rice and the bulgogi. Overall price of all that was around $ 50. Everything tasted good and my favorite was the honey fried chicken. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The reason I gave it a four stars was because the bulgogi seemed to have more fatty pieces than the actual meat(although the marinade was pretty good). Also the kimchi fried rice was a bit greasy, but, yet again, had a good taste.

This place is awesome! The wait staff is friendly and brought out an extra a couple extra of the same pan chan for my son who refused to eat pretty much everything else. The kalbi was perfection and yuk gae Jang is just the right amount of spice and delicious! Warms you right up. Loved the cold noodle’s multiple textures. It has thin and chewy noodles and crunchy cucumber, Korean apple pears, thin slices of turnips and the soft texture of hard boiled eggs that’s soaked in the savory ice chilled soup that was sour and slightly sweet. Then the best part was the personalized flavoring of this wasabi like yellow mustard and vinegar. I like mine extra spicy and sour. The kiddos especially loved the yakult desert drinks at the end, especially the tiny baby straws that it came with. All in all 2 thumbs up!

This restaurant lives up to its name and serves some awesome dolsot. We tried the spicy pork dolsot bi bim bap which is rice in a hot stone pot with an assortment of cooked veggies, spicy pork and a runny egg on top. The stone pot comes out sizzling hot. We also tried a kim chee pancake which was well executed and a salmon box which was good as well. I’m really impressed with this little restaurant particularly the dolsot. The service was fantastic and exceptionally nice. This just became our new go to spot for Korean food.

Back again, and I still love this place. I had the Korean wings again. They’re awesome. Ate some in the restaurant, and brought the rest home for later. I ended up having them for lunch the next day, and they were still just as crispy and delicious as they were in the restaurant. That says a lot! Usually, leftover wings tend to get soggy and kind of unappetizing. Not these! They were just as good the next day! I also tried the spicy pork bulgogi this time around. Spicy at about a level 3, which is good. Not so spicy that you can’t taste anything but heat, but not too mild, either. Delicious. It was basically a home run, as is everything that I’ve had here. The appetizers that they put out are delicious, too. The kimchi in this place is so good that we bought a half-pint container to take home with us. I don’t know if I mentioned it before, but the staff in this place is great. Friendly, attentive, and patient. Dolsot House is a hidden gem. Try it, trust me!

If I can do zero star, I’d love to do. I’m very disappointed with its foods and service. I ordered Korean style dumpling soup and a Korean style Chinese black noodle called JJajangmyeon. The soup was full with MSG, and the basic source for the noodle was not made by them, but from a Korean market. The taste was awful. The dumpling soup was blend, and the soup was ¾ of the served dish, not to mention being overpriced. They never replaced side dishes, nor filled up my water. Guys, if you want to go to a good Korean restaurant, this should be the least place to go. I’d never go back again.

Had a love/hate experience here last night… I love that I finally ate their wings, but hate that it took me this long to finally go here… No need for a long review, I only had their wings(ordered 10, half were soy garlic other half were spicy) but it’s safe to say that in my 37 years of life, these may be the best wings I’ve ever eaten… Place was real chill, dude who took my take out order was nice and helpful when I was ordering, and price was right($ 11.99 for 10 wings)… I cannot wait to go back and eat more stuff off of their menu, but my lord these wings… unreal

Soon Dubu stew with beef and kim chi Bulgolgi dolsot Let’s start with the sides. Plentiful but missing my favs. You can taste the vinegrette but not as spicy as I like. I know that restaurants have to cater to the majority, but kim chi has to be spicy. There are other sides you can eat that aren’t spicy. I expect anything looking red has to have a medium spice to it. Soon Dubu is good and hearty. I order beef and kim chi spicy level 3. You crack the egg into the bowl as soon as it gets to the table. The white cooked well and then you break open the yolk after a min. You can’t go wrong with this soup anywhere. Bulgolgi dolsot is ok. The bulgolgi is lacking flavor. When the main entrée lacks flavor, the sides make up for it. I need spicy level 5 Kim chi. No help here either. So the only reason I came here was to pick up chicken wings because they are the rate highly. I thought they were Korean wings, the ones that stay crispy for a whole day. When I opened the 40pieces of soggy wings, the sticky sauce melted to the bottom of the foam box. I have to go back to try the wings in house next time.

I am very familiar with Korean food and I make a lot of traditional Korean dishes including dakgangjeong(Korean Spicy Fried Chicken) and Dolsot House’s version of Korean fried chicken is pretty good. I had the spicy one and it is not ‘Korean spicy’ by any means so the spice level has been adjusted for the Western palate I think. As another reviewer stated, it is the reason to return to this restaurant. I will definitely try the Diablo level spice next time. They also have honey sesame and soy-garlic versions of the wings. Other dishes we had were the kimchi jayeuk bokkeum, spicy pork dolsot, seafood dolsot and the kalbi ribs. All the dishes were good and I would definitely order my spicy pork dolsot again. Oddly enough, the meal ended with every diner getting a complimentary bottle(100g or about 3 oz) bottle of a Japanese yogurt orange drink called Bikkle(also called Yakult) which is popular in Japan and Korea. They are also known for their ‘koagie’ a Korean version of a hoagie that I will try on a return trip. For more ‘authentic’ spiced Korean food, I’d go elsewhere.

Not the MOST amazing Korean restaurant I’ve been to, but definitely has their flavors down for their soups especially! Also BIGBIGBIGTIP: Please make reservations before coming, ESPECIALLY on a holiday. They tend to get extremely packed and on a cold day you’re not going to want to stand at the door. They do however offer takeout. I’ve been to a good deal of Korean restaurants in my lifetime and what has impressed me is their famous Korean Fried Chicken. We tried their honey sesame fried chicken and it was absolutely delicious! Extremely crispy and crunchy just as it’s supposed to be, not overly seasoned(which is the downfall for most) and the chicken size is decent(meaning you’re not getting tiny and not so worth chicken wings/drumsticks). I was very impressed and this is actually one of the reasons why I would come back to this particular restaurant. The 1 main reason why I’m deducting 1 star is for the service… As nice as they were, they started neglecting the customers currently in the restaurant because they were so packed. I’m not saying this is a huge issue, but it’s definitely something they need to work on in order to stay in good business. We ran out of napkins and drinks VISIBLY and unless we wave them over they didn’t come on their own the whole night(we tested this of course). They were genuinely nice servers BUT it’s important not to neglect those dining currently. I know they want to get rid of the line waiting at the door and rush customers out, BUT as I said it’s the current customers that are also equally important. Other than that, they were nice and weren’t rude whatsoever and I do understand it’s hard to serve while extremely busy. Another thing I have to add, is their seafood pancake was a big bummer to me personally. The pancake was not crispy and seemed undercooked to me, not to worry the seafood itself was precooked, but the batter itself was not cooked properly and should’ve stayed on the stove longer. A bit of constructive criticism, but I suggest lower the flames and leave it on longer to avoid black burns on the pancake. I always order the seafood pancake at Korean restaurants and sadly this was the first and only place to have messed it up. Otherwise the taste was fine and we didn’t bother them to recook it just because it was busy. The entrees we had were excellent, we had their Bulgogi Hotpot Soup and their Spicy Bulgogi Pork. The Spicy Bulgogi Dish and now that I think about it the entire meat dishes were huge enough to share between 2 people. Unless you like to eat all that meat on your own, they are good dishes to share with rice and accompanied by something else as well. The soup was extremely well seasoned and I absolutely loved the flavors, so they definitely won points against their other competitor Beawon(I’ve reviewed them before) for this. The one thing that made them stand out to me was their complimentary yogurt drink at the end of your meal. Asians, in general, love to drink these yogurt drinks after a meal to help their stomach digest after a large meal. This is the first restaurant to have offered that at the end, which shows they care about their customers. Small gestures like this can make a huge difference against other competitors. Overall this place is definitely more for casual dates, friends hangout or catching up type atmosphere. And for the love of God please make a reservation if you want to set up some big event! I would recommend this place to friends, I feel like Dolsot House has a lot of potential to become something great.

Solid, especially among the Korean restaurants in Cherry Hill. Formerly known as Sammy Chon’s, Dolsot House offers a pretty extensive repertoire of Korean staple dishes, from soups to Korean barbecue, although you won’t have the grill in front of you. Located in a small strip mall, the outside is fairly unassuming, as is the inside, but the food is very good, so don’t let the austere vibe deter you. I’ve only ever come during lunch with my family, and I have to say the lunch specials are pretty bomb. You can get a bento box with your choice of meat, pickled vegetables, jap chae(potato noodles), rice, and salad, all for around $ 10. The creamy sesame dressing that comes with the salad is pretty great, and something I haven’t seen before. My go-to is the dweji bulgogi(spicy pork), and while it’s not scaldingly spicy, it does pack a bit of a punch, so beware if you can’t handle spicy food well. Another lunch special is a large bowl of soondubu(tofu stew) or nengmyun(cold noodles), with your choice of grilled meat(I typically go for the Kalbi) for around $ 15. The portion of grilled meat is usually pretty substantial, so you should only order it if you’re really hungry. As for other dishes, I highly recommend the haemul pajun(seafood pancake), since it’s absolutely enormous and only around $ 9. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a pancake that big with that much seafood for that price anywhere. For those of you who really like Korean fried chicken, their wings have been solid every time we’ve ordered them. I typically go for the soy garlic or honey sesame, since they’re the most flavorful in my opinion. Comparable to Bön Chon, and at a better price, I believe. Service is a little slower when it gets busy, but they’re very accommodating and friendly. I think it’s a function of not having enough people to cover the entire restaurant when it’s full. At the end of the meal, they give each person a mini bottle of Yakult, or Korean/Japanese yogurt drink. It’s kind of sour and sweet with a very unusual flavor, so it might not be your cup of tea, but I grew up drinking it, so I highly enjoy the fact that they give this away at the end of the meal. Prices are cheap for lunch, but I’m not entirely sure if I would come for dinner. Just can’t tear myself away from that bento box. I’ll definitely be back during lunch hours when I’m back in Cherry Hill.

I recently found myself in need of a quick bite while driving up from Philly to Newark. After a quick Unilocal search, I settled on Dolsot House. I’m so glad to have found this place — they have some of the best Korean food in the tri-state area. I’m personally a huge fan of the spicy pork dolsot(so spicy! so delicious), but the LA kalbi dolsot is outstanding as well. The portions are huge — easily 2(or more) meals in each sizzling stone bowl — and better yet, the meat portions are generous. Their meat(the beef in particular) is tender and well-marinated, with the perfect amount of char. The haemul pajun is pretty good; though not the crispiest I’ve ever had, it is filled with a quality assortment of seafood and is not overly greasy. The real attraction is the wings. They are impossibly crispy, yet the meat within remains moist and tender, and they are coated with the perfect amount of sauce. The one thing is we tried soy garlic and honey sesame and I’m not sure if they messed up our order or what, but the two tasted the same. Still, some of the best Korean fried chicken I’ve had on this side of the globe. The service is also friendly and prompt, and they give you a Yakult with your check — a thoughtful, sweet way to end the meal. I was impressed that despite all the barbecuing and frying going on, the space was so clean and the air free of smoke and grease. The weekends can get quite busy, but in my experience, table turnover is quite fast and the wait is definitely worth it.

Ever since Sammy Chon in Philly closed down, I felt like a lost child when my tastebud kicks in for some serious Korean Food. Got some recommendations from friends about this place called Dolsot House K-Town, apparently sister(or brother) store in Cherry Hill. Finally made my way to Chery Hill on a Saturday around 3pm~ish… The place was pretty pact despite 3pm is tyically not your average norm for dinning hour, but hey, it is Saturday! We were seated by a tall waiter. He was extremely friendly and helpful. I love the free tiny samplers they serve prior the meals, especially their Kimchi and the Spicy Cumcumber(yes, those are free refills, ask me how I know!) Next, we ordered the Combo Soondubu Stew with spice level 4. The spicy level was perfect but only thing is maybe they could’ve losen up on ther sodium a tap. I got pretty thirsty afterward but I guess it was well worth. We also ordered their BBQ Beef DolSot and KimchiPancake, both was very authentic and delicious. Last, but the best, we got their famous Chicken Wings. It was Daebak!!!(Korean way of saying«awesome», our waiter taught me that!) I am typically not a fan of spicy and sweet combo but I made an exception for their wings since it was on point… HmMmmmmm!!! What’s unique about this Korean place is their spice tasted differently from the other places that I’ve tried. I like it! Service was very friendly and food was fresh and delicious. Super happy that I am no longer a lost child, I think I just found my second home! I strongly encourage people and visitors that are in the area to give this place a try if your tastebud is sensing Korean ventures!

Food — Five Stars Service One Star The food here is really wonderful. Service, needs some polishing. I need to preface this review with the fact that Korean restaurants are rarely venues known for great service(am I right, or am I right?). That being said, Dolsot House wins the award for the most offensively impolite service I have ever received in any Korean restaurant.(More about that later). Service notwithstanding, the food at DH is very good The claim made by South Jersey Magazine(«voted best wings in S. Jersey») is well founded. We sampled both the soy garlic & honey sesame sauces, and both were delicious. The wings were fried in a gossamer-like tempura batter, that was very light, crispy, and served piping hot. The banchan(served along side every entrée) were nothing to write home about. The ubiquitous soy and mirin glazed potatoes, potato salad, eggplant w/sesame were all there. Kimchee was marginal. Bottom line, Ive had much better banchan from prepared food section at H-Mart! For mains, we ordered the L.A. Kalbi Dolsot(best I’ve ever tried), and the Bulgogi Hotpot. Portions were ample, meats were well marinated, and noodles, rice and/or broth were perfectly seasoned. Last, but not least, DH is a BYO, so bring your own beer & wine. DH lists closing time in Unilocal as closing at 10PM. At 9:40pm on a Monday night, we were one of two tables left in the restaurant. After serving our entrees, they immediately brought the check. With chopsticks still in our mouths, the server dropped the check on the table and asked us if we could pay«NOW». While that server did not have the best command of the English language, there is no excuse for giving us the«bum’s rush» While DH isn’t exactly what you would call a «fine dining» establishment, it’s down right rude to rush customers to pay the tab when they just received their food. This glitch in service may have been just that, a glitch. I’d come back to DH if I were ever in the area again, and would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Cherry Hill area.

My first Korean meal and Dolsot House did not disappoint! Started with their honey sesame and spicy wings… Amazing! Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, and wonderful flavors! I like spicy so I would definitely go up one level and try the Diablo wings next time. Delicious wings! The restaurant offers an array of Korean tapas(on the house) as a starter. The garlic eggplant and cucumbers were delish! Some of the other offerings were not to my liking but then again this is my first time trying Korean. For our main courses, my girl friend and I tried the spicy chicken bulgogi… A cool rice dish served in a piping hot(clay?) bowl. Eat quickly if you don’t want your rice to be crispy because that bowl is HOT and will continue cooking the rice. We loooved it! The combination of crispy rice with Korean veggies, spicy chicken, and a fried egg was divine. I would definitely go up a spice level(ordered a 3) since I like spicy food. Also tried the LA Kalbi BBQ platter which is served with rice. Meat was delicious and tender and well flavored. I would definitely try this in a rice bowl(bulgogi) next time! What a great find in Cherry Hill… I will definitely be visiting again! Service and food was both excellent. Oh, and it’s BYOB!

I can not get over how good this place is. Seriously, I am looking for any excuse to come back and I’ve already messaged about 6 of my friends saying we need to come here. Never have I ever had Korean BBQ until I came to Dolsot House and I am so disappointed in myself for never trying it earlier. My girlfriend and I came here because we wanted to try something different. Not having any idea what to order or expect we asked our awesome server for advice. Here is the break down of what we got: 10 piece wings– 2 flavors, honey sesame and Diablo. Both so incredibly delicious and flavorful. wings were crispy yet juicy– it seemed as though it had a breading to them that was fried perfectly. Chicken Bulgogi Dolsot(chicken rice bowl) — we ordered the spicy chicken but you can order BBQ. Interestingly, it comes out in a clay bowl?!(no idea if its clay but its a cool looking bowl) and its super hot and it continues to cook once it comes out so be careful you don’t burn the rice– burnt rice is something I love so I let it get crispy. Loaded with veggies and flavor this was amazing!!! So good in so many ways. Full of flavor, meat, and veggies. Spice level 3 but I would go higher next time, maybe a 4 or even a 5. L.A Kalbi(beef short ribs) SOOOOOO good! Perfectly grilled, juicy, and flavorful but not dry or anything. Thin pieces and lots of them. I loved this dish. Over all– this was a great experience and exceeded any expectations I had for this place. I am beyond happy that we tried DH; I cant wait to come back. ENJOY! OH its BYOB too!

So I am a self admitted Korean food and kbbq virgin. But hey, they say once you pop the fun don’t stop. This place is fabulous. Dolsot house is located on route 70 and I’ve honestly driven past it dozens of times. The restaurant itself is pretty unassuming but clean and cute. The food was delicious! I have no idea how traditional or authentic it is but it was really yummy. The wings were crisp, spicy, and tangy and made my mouth really happy. I figured I couldn’t go wrong and ordered the chicken dolsot. I have no idea how they get the dolsot so hot(temperature not spice) but whoa. I enjoy spicy food and ordered my meal at 4⁄5 which was perfect. I would definitely come back here and plan on trying more Korean food.

Great service, yummy dolsot, and decent ambiance fill the Korean pang for anyone who chooses not to eat at Han Dynasty just a few doors down. They know how to heat their dolsot stones well. Generally my rice doesn’t crisp up at other places, but dolsot house knows how to do it. Also, you get those cool appetizers at the beginning of the meal, and then they finish you off with a probiotic Korean drinkable yogurt at the end. Much more recommended for a small sized group than a date. Why? To be able to try more items on the menu as entrée pack a small punch to your wallet.

«Best Wings in NJ» award on their menu does not lie. The wings pieces are huge. I ordered a 10 piece(half spicy and half honey sesame). I’m not sure what the wings are dipped in before frying them up but they are so crunchy and satisfying. the meat is still juicy inside and the flavor is not overpowering. I wasn’t sure at first but the host was nice and helped me choose which sauces to pick for my wings. I ordered 10 but I could only eat five because I was so full. I can’t wait to try the other sauces. definitely worth it!
