I know people really like this place, but I can’t stand Pei Wei chains. I understand the concept of it and I know it’s associated with PF Chang’s(which I like) but I just do not like the food options at all! There are some Chinese restaurants that offer better tasting food at a better price just without the«Pei Wei Atmosphere» I’ve tried it twice, both locations and I just can’t get on board with the simple basic menu. I just don’t feel the value. But they do have great customer service and phone etiquette so I’m giving an extra star

If you like Chef Boyardee’s…this is the place for you! The restaurant’s ambiance was nice, the staff was polite and helpful, but the food was mediocre. My meal tasted like it was heated from frozen pre-packaged bags. Not exactly tasty, but if this is fine with you then everything else was great!

I’ve been a pretty loyal customer to this Pei Wei location for years now and probably get take out from here on a weekly or biweekly basis. I place my to-go order over the phone and the wait time is never bad, typically 10 – 20 minutes depending on the day of the week. The staff is always friendly so I have no complaints logistically speaking. Over my past half a dozen visits or so I’ve started noticing an inconsistency in the food quality. I’ve had my share of the signature dishes but 90% of the time I go with the Spicy Chicken or Spicy with steak which comes with fried rice. On some nights the amount of chile vinegar sauce is either way too much where the bottom of everything becomes soup-like or barely any at all where the meat, rice and vegetables are bone dry. I’ve also come across instances where the chicken’s flavor and texture can be pretty bad, like it was cooked earlier in the day I’d assume. I love Pei Wei’s menu and prices, but as of late it feels like when I order from there I’m gambling on whether my meal will taste great, which ultimately makes me want to stop by less. I’ve been to PF Changs in Marlton a handful of times and their food is consistently good. Even though Pei Wei is more casual than its owning company, they should still strive to achieve similar standards.

I just got take-out from this place and it was very disappointing. The food was just ordinary, moreover, for an original size entrée, the bowl was ¾ full of rice and very little protein and veggies. Not something I would go back for unless I have no other Chinese option around.

I don’t order here all THAT often, but I swear every time I decide I want Chicken Pad Thai, inevitably my order is wrong. The last three times I have ordered take-out, they have forgotten a topping, or disregarded something. But this last time was the tip of the iceberg. First they forgot both my sauces for the main dish and the spring rolls, then I found a long piece of wavy hair in my food. I think that’s the last time I will order from there. I kept wanting to give them a chance but I’m always disappointed. No more.

Saltiest food I’ve ever eaten, staff fighting in the background added a little atmosphere. Avoid.

We really like PF Chang but the local outlet always has a long line. Throw in that we’re always bringing in three under 14 years old munchkins and Pei Wei starts to look really good. For anyone not familiar with this restaurant, here us the deal: You go in(if there is a line) and wait looking at a menu. Smart! Then you walk to a counter where you place your order, get your drinks and get a round plastic numbered disk to identify your table. After a brief wait, a staff member will bring out your food and the rest is up to you. That means you go fill your drinks from a tap in the back, pick up sauces and gather a few fortune cookies. The food is similar to the more common dishes at PF Chang but the atmosphere and prices are much less elegant. The quality over many visits has been good. Lots of free parking and outdoor dining in warm weather. Worth a visit if you like PF Chang…

This place is amazing, i been coming for years, food is always perfect. I don’t know how anybody can not have a 5 star experience. People are nice, and check on you. Pork rolls and lettuce wraps are great starters.

I have to echo the poor service reviews. Orders wrong, the past two times. Long wait times when there’s no customers! If you’re getting take-out, inspect your purchase before you leave. I travel the extra mile to the Moorestown location because I still enjoy the food.

We have liked Pei Wei’s food in the past, but recently have had several consecutive bad experiences with yesterday’s being the most recent. First of all, while the food is generally flavorful, the service is bad — one star at best. I cannot count the times we have been given takeout food only to get it home and find out things have been left out or incorrect. Yesterday when we were there around 2pm to pick up some food to go, the place was empty. We were the only customers being helped at the time, yet the person waiting on us paid no attention whatsoever to what we ordered. When we got home, all of our food was missing the sauces it should have, and the salad was dry with no dressing provided. BTW Pei Wei — without the dressing, it’s just lettuce and veggies which could come straight from the store. The protein(shrimp in this case) was also unseasoned, and in a separate container. In addition, I think Pei Wei’s streamlining of the menu has made it much more generic and even more prone to staff goofing up because they have to pay more attention to the customer(which they don’t). I can’t understand why 3 of the 4 dishes we ordered were 100% without flavor, seasoning or sauce. This is already much more expensive than other chinese takeout — and for no flavor it is not worth it. Further, there is nothing worse than getting home with your food and realizing your order was completely messed up(esp. when you live 20 minutes away).

Went for lunch today and we were extremely disappointed. My food was burnt and my husband’s food was flavorless and overcooked. Both meals came with cold, clumpy rice. We previously visited this location about once a month. After missing a few months were were shocked to find the prices increased, while the quality of the food and service decreased substantially. With so many other local options with better food and service to pick from, we’ll never go back to Pei Wei.

Pei Wei is the fast food version of P.F. Changs, with a stripped down menu that still manages to offer a creative blend of traditional Asian plates. The cost is low, the service is simple, and the experience is «bing, bang, boom.» I come to this location all of the time and they have always gotten my order right. What I Like: — The menu changes every couple of months, but only 10% of it. Your favorites typically remain, and new options surprise. — The vegetables and fruits used in the dishes are always incredibly crisp and fresh. — They have this new Transformer-like soda machine that allows you to make, like, a billion different soda flavor combinations. I call it Optimus-Sodium, and I love it. — They started a «Rewards Club» type of program offering coupons and free entrees for those who sign up. If you go often, give it a whack. What I Don’t Like: — The service is weak in terms of cleaning dirty tables, and setting them up for the next customer(s). I’m often choosing a table with no napkins and sticky-elbow-syndrome. — I don’t know if I should tip. This is so weird. Pei Wei is in the middle of fast food and the traditional«server» model. This confuses me. I order the food, make my own drink, seat myself. They deliver my food, and anything else I ask for. But I never see guests leaving tips, and I do so inconsistently. I’m not sure if I’m screwing someone or not. In the meantime I’ll find a way to live with the ambiguity, but I’ve caught a few semi-servers(that’s my new name for this role) rolling their eyes once they see a cashless mess awaiting their cleaning. — Fortune cookie limitations? They used to have buckets of fortunes awaiting my desperate and hungry hands. The last time I went, these buckets were MIA. Throughout the years I’ve seen people dig into these baskets as if fortune cookies were their primary life source(#Hedonism). It seems customer greed has led to the restriction of liberal fortune cookie consumption. It’s a dark day in Towson, Maryland. In order to improve their rating, they would need to clamp down on preparing the table for proper turnover, restore the public supply of fortune cookies, and somehow communicate the preference in gratuity(not sure how you do this, but I wonder if others suffer from the same confusion). In conclusion, it’s fast food. While good service and fast food are tough to pull off, the most important benefit of visiting Pei Wei is that the food is fresh and good. Enjoy!

Gone are the days when Pei Wei used to the best go to place for great chinese /thai food. I’ve been going to this place ever since it opened, regular lunch customer with my former colleagues. After getting a job in the city I wasn’t able to come here anymore until my last visit. I really miss the Kung Pao chicken, so that’s what I ordered. The chicken is so dry and looks like there is no sauce on it. I got my meal cold… Why? The two employees are just talking, my food was just sitting there waiting to be picked up and delivered to me. it took almost 15 minutes. I was about to get it myself… but when I was about to stand up, looks like one of the servers saw me and gave my food… I didn’t really complain anymore, because who knows what they might do. I’m not coming back anymore… those days are gone.

As far as franchise Asian food places go, Pei Wei is alright. The food is good, and the service was so-so. I had the Mango California Rolls and the Thai Chicken lettuce wraps. The sushi was good but not great. The rolls fell apart easily and could have used more rice. I waited almost 20 minutes for my lettuce wraps while the rest of the party I was with had their food delivered in a reasonable amount of time. After waiting about ten minutes I went up to the front to ask if they were ready yet and the server said she would figure it out. After another ten minutes of waiting, the server finally came around with the wraps and also gave me a card for free lettuce wraps the next time I came in due to the inconvenience. I was really impressed that she offered this to me so quickly and appreciated the gesture. The lettuce wraps were good– there was a little too much sauce but overall they were good. If you’re looking for this type of fare, take the extra time to make the trip to PF Changs. If you’re in a hurry just go here and it’ll suffice. I’ll probably come back to redeem my free lettuce wraps but if they take that long again I doubt I’ll return.

For a chain restaurant, this place is actually OK. The Mongolian beef is ace. They have fresh chopped salads now & even fresh sushi on their new seasonal menu. Worth a visit especially for this new«fresh» menu. :)

The food is awesome but the service isn’t that great. Food sits on the counter ready to be taken to the customers for far too long. It’d be easier to walk up and get it yourself. Usually the food is great but today they burnt my chicken :( Oh well, it’s quick and less expensive than going all the way to P. F changs !

A nice place if you are feeling like eating out, but you are in between not wanting to eat at a really nice sit down place and not wanting fast food. Pei Wei has really good food that they make literally right in front of you. Service is always good and the food is always great. Awesome prices for the quality and quanity. I always end up taking half home with me. They have one of those cool soda machines that’s a touch screen with like 957424690 choices of drinks — this is a plus, I think. They also have fortune cookies, take out containers, sauces, and more out for your use. Definitely give Pei Wei a try.

Upscale Chinese take out, from the owners of PF Changs this quick service restaurant offers better quality and healthier options than your typical Chinese take out. Prices are very reasonably for filling portions– brown rice option is great! You can also get your meat steamed or sautéed with chicken broth instead of oil to lower the calories. LOVE the coca cola machine with hundreds of your favorite sodas(coke, sprite, Dr. Pepper, root beer) in diet and regular with the option of added flavors(cherry, raspberry, lemon, lime). Orange slices and fortune cookies for after your meal– and sign up with your email to receive coupons and deals every few weeks!

Many of the items are over sauced/over sugared. Some of the items(especially the Pad Thai selections) contain as much sodium in one entrée that is equivalent to the daily recommended amount of salt for the entire day!(we are talking 2570, 2790 milligrams of sodium… good lord!). With that said, I am quite fond of the Thai Wonton Soup. I also like the Pork Egg Rolls. Both are good for a chain. In moderation my friend, moderation.

Honestly, I spent my entire college life eating Pei Wei and I’m SOGLAD that there is Pei Wei in NJ now. I travel to Cherry Hill for work sometimes and this is going to be the exclusive food stop for me! Pei Wei is a quick concept for P.F. Changs. It’s about $ 8-$ 9 for a dish, and you order at the counter they give you a number and have a seat, your food will be prepared and brought to you. Indoor/Outdoor seating so when it’s nice out you can eat with your sunglasses on :) Now I’ve really only had 2 things on the menu here because I love them so much I’m afraid to stray from my ordering habits. 1) Spicy Korean(w Chicken): Amazing. Listen people I am Korean, and I’m telling you this is good stuff. It’s not realllly a Korean dish, but it’s inspired by and loved by Koreans. Basically you can pick your protein or go veggie, they put sliced carrots onions and mushrooms with your protein of choice and stir fry it up with some red(gochu jang) korean spicy sauce. Just try it already! 2) Ginger Broccoli: same deal, you pick your meat and they’ll toss it up with brocc and ginger sauce. Very simple, but well executed and tastey. I can’t say much for anything else they have here, but I definitely think it’s a great quick lunch concept and I wish there was one closer to me. Food: 4.5 Atmosphere: 3.5 Service: 3.5 (out of fives)
