Red Latern that was on Evesham Rd prior to this owner was great. Went to the new location, TERRIBLE. DIRTYANDEMPTY. There was no heat and kids playing video games with the owner. He stopped and made our food if you would call it that. Shrimp toast tasted like dirty spareribs oil. Place is totally disgusting. We should have thrown the 48.00 away. Save your money, it should be shut down by the board of health. Terrible place — terrible food

I am giving this place one star because I cant give it zero. Went there tonight to use a double take deal we purchased. We were greeted by a scruffy looking guy wearing dirty ripped jeans and a baseball hat. He told us to sit anywhere — the place was completely empty except for the dude and two young kids. One boy who sat playing video games the entire time we were there and another little girl who ran around the restaurant in circles. I could not tell whether or not the scruffy dude worked there but he did not do anything but apologize for the slow service and exclaim that it has been«so slow there lately» but was so «busy» tonight. We ordered soup and dumplings as appetizers. The dumplings were mostly dough and waaaaay too thick. No real flavor. And the dumpling sauce — which we usually love — tasted like it was just plain soy sauce. The soup was just okay. We also got the scallion pancake and it was dripping with grease and served with the same salty soy sauce. Our main dishes were just terrible. And then the bill came and it was $ 52! I had heard such great things about this place when it was in the other location. Something has definately changed because this was not even close to being mediocre. We had purchased a double take deal and for $ 20 — we got two vouchers for $ 20 but you can only use one at a time. We don’t even plan on using the other voucher. That is how bad tonights dinner was. Ugh. Never again.

Avoid. Back when it was on Evesham road, Red Lantern served decent food and great tea. Now, the food is tasteless, texturally unpleasing, and in some cases, well past its freshness date. Tasteless– the sauces are bland and in some cases(Hawaiian Chix) seems to be nothing but colored water. Even more disappointing, most of the sauces used on the beef dishes taste exactly the same, which is not a good thing. Texturally unpleasing– The WonTons in the soup are so mushy, so disgusting. The tofu in the Hot and Sour… again so mushy and overcooked. Sorry to be repetitive, but it seems like the soups sit there way to long. Freshness date– the free crispy noodles that you commonly eat as an appetizer with duck or mustard sauce taste disgusting. Old oil? Stale noodles? All the above. Very disappointing.
