I used 1 – 800 Pack Rat to move from Virginia to Seattle. I was quoted a set price so I agreed to go with them because it was as easy as loading and unloading. Everything went as planned except for when they went to bill me. I was told a quote for a certain price yet my credit card was charged $ 500 more than my quoted price. I called and spoke to customer service and they told me it was a charge for misc gas fees. Be careful using them because they never even told me about the additional fee and just charged my card. Other than that everything went smoothly.

We used 1−800-PACK-RAT for our move from Chesapeake, VA to Westminster, CO and we were very satisfied with the service we received. In our situation it was much more convenient and about the same price we would have paid to rent a moving truck and we didn’t have the hassle of having to drive it such a great distance. We also didn’t have an apartment when we arrived so we took advantage of the one month of storage. Once we found a place to live I was easily able to schedule the drop off. At our request they were able to drop off and pick up the container in the same day since our apartment complex didn’t want it there overnight. Overall we would recommend them for long distance moves or any move that will need to include storage.

Our long distance move could not have been any better. We loaded 2 containers in Virginia Beach to move to Bonita Springs florida. We had our containers in the climate controlled warehouse in Florida for 3 months before we found a house and went through the closing. The Virginia container delivery and and pick-up and the Florida container delivery and pick-up was outstanding. When we opened the containers at our new home in Florida everything was exactly as we packed it, nothing had moved. From start to finish our experience was outstanding.

Évaluation du lieu : 1 Norfolk, VA
I used 1−800-Pack Rat because the quote they gave me was less expensive than PODS. Last July, I moved from Northern Virginia to Norfolk. The Pack Rats were quick to provide me with a quote and drop off a storage unit. Once packed, they promptly picked it up and delivered it to the Norfolk storage facility. You must give notice to access your storage unit and when I went to check on mine I found that it was stored in an unheated/uncooled Quonset hut on the back lot of a local moving company’s property. It was not the«climate controlled» facility that was promised. It was also not just a temporary site where my unit was placed for access as it remained there over a period of months. I then received notice that my unit would now be stored in Chesapeake, not Norfolk. This added a layer of significant inconvenience in terms of being able to access storage. I had absolutely no say in this move and was given no way to contact the storage facility directly. I would not have chosen a portable storage company that did not have a facility in the city to which I was moving. When it was time to finalize my move, I was told that the«next available appointment» was two weeks away. So, the Pack Rat basically held my stuff hostage until they could drop it facing the wrong way at the wrong end of my driveway. When I called to tell them they could pick the empty unit up less than a week later, I was told that the next available appointment for pickup was a MONTH away. And, there is no way to contact the local facility directly(of course), but they will send an email to let the facility know… Yadda Yadda Yadda… The folks on the phone are pleasant enough to deal with but the service I received absolutely sucked. I would’ve been better off, and spent less money hiring two guys and a truck to load and unload my stuff into a regular self-storage unit. I will never use the Pack Rat-bastards again and seriously recommend that you do not either…
