I ordered a drink. here’s how it went down —- bartender to gentleman sitting next to me at the bar, drinking: «the drink is $ 8, right?» dude: «yea» *dude looks over at me* dude: nah, $ 11.75 whatever… I won’t be back

This place was ok… it is cramped! Got to get there early to get a seat. Very awkward layout. Entertainment was great! Live band was great very free spirited. The singers were great! Wings were good. Drinks were ok. Overall ambience was flowetic and free spirited, but the place is small.

Love this spot! I went on a Friday.. live band, great drinks, happy people, drama free. I enjoyed it mostly because the fun begin around 8 so you don’t have to hang out all nite to enjoy your nite. I don’t like they charge $ 5.00 when it’s so early in evening. HIGHLYRECOMMEND!!!

Nice Music, VERYSMALL, no dance floor, Good Drinks. If it wasn’t for the fact that it’s a good place to catch up with old friends I haven’t seen in a long time it would be a 2.5 stars. I didn’t try the food, but the drinks had me N.I.C.E

I went in this place tonight with a lady friend of mine for a few drinks after dinner. Sat there at a table that hadn’t been cleaned off for 10min. Then the waitress came over and didn’t even acknowledge us, yet took the time to grab her ticket/receipt off of the table and left everything on it. She came back and waited on the 2 tables around us, but didn’t say a thing to us. I went back to the bouncer who charged us $ 5/head for cover and asked for our cover back because of the lack of service and he said that was the fee just to get in and was non-refundable. I know what a cover is, but when you charge a cover and don’t serve your customers it’s bullshit. I see why they only have black patrons in there now. They’re rude and don’t even acknowledge the only white people that walk in the door. I’d been there before for comedy night when Bo was hosting it back in the day and never had this problem. Obviously it’s gone WAY downhill.

Best place to get Martinis, a ton of combos. They also have a full bar and beer on tap. Good food and great staff. Get there early to get a good seat and great drink specials. They sometimes have a jazzy type band. Check out groupon they usually have a special.

Showed up at a Friday at 9:30 when the place was still pretty empty and they wanna charge $ 5 a head to get in?! Ladies didn’t even get in free… didn’t even bother walking in. Acting like they’re a fancy lounge, c’mon!

Went in Friday night with a friend and was pleased that there was a live ban with an excellent singer. Friendly staff, hip but relaxing atmosphere and nicely mixed drinks. Specializing in Martinis but serving a good selection of mixed drinks and wine. Only negative was that it became too crowded by 10:30 and was no longer comfortable.

I think this place tried to rip me off. I might as well just put it out there. There are signs behind the bar that state: «All tabs left open are subject to a 20% gratuity.» This to me implies that you will be charged 20% if you forget your card and do not close out your tab. However, this is not what they mean. I opened up a tab, and at the end of the night, when I closed it, the bartender presented me with one receipt that had the total price, a tip line, and a signature line. I thought the amount was high for what I ordered, although I had to «guesstimate» the total price because this place does not even put its drink prices on the menu. Well, I filled in a 20% tip, but then I just did not feel right about it, so I asked the bartender for an itemized receipt, which by the way they should be providing to me anyways. Well, when she gave it to me, I noticed there was already a 20% gratuity even though I was only with two other people. And this is how I found out what they think this sign means! My friends told me they would have just tipped and signed the receipt; I am so glad I didn’t. I am sure that some people who come in for a bit too many martinis probably add an additional tip and then sign without noticing.(Way to take advantage of the inebriated!) Being an attorney, I find this business practice unsettling. If I were not on vacation, I would even try to look up the legality of not providing an itemized receipt and also the legality of putting such a gratuity on a check that is not for a large party. The sign is misleading and ambiguous, and I am sure if someone was to challenge it, that person would win. The sign should instead say, «if you open a tab, you will get charged a 20% gratuity.» Of course, that would just look bad. If you ever come here – which I do not recommend that you do unless you are supporting an artist – make sure you get an itemized receipt! The surfer martini and crab dip are not bad either.

I really like this cozy little spot. 4 stars just because food was ok, would like to see more varied gourmet tapas, not so much bar food in small portions. Staff is super friendly and on spot. What is varied is the activities almost each night of the week. Live music, DJs. The music the night we went was awesome. Happy hour Almost every night of the week, even Saturday’s! Diverse crowd. We will pop in again!

If you enjoy Jazz… This is the place to be on Thursdays prior to(I believe) 8pm. Great Chef Specials that are never the same. I go under duress… my cousin LOVES this spot. In the same respect, I always look forward to trying something new on the menu!

I have tried to use a puchased groupon at this location on 2 spearate occasions now but both times I have tried the place has the doors locke and nobody answers their phone. Both times have been inside of their scheduled operating hours per their website, sign on the door and phone voicemail greeting. I have also left messages with no returned calls. Great way to do business. Will contact groupon today to just get a refund.

I’ve been here twice. The first time was for drinks only. When we told the waitress about my husband’s severe nut allergy, she talked to the chef. Since their special of the night contained walnuts, he couldn’t guarantee the food safety. He felt bad, but suggested we not order food. We really appreciated the honesty. We had dinner elsewhere and came back for drinks. I came back another night with a friend for dinner and drinks. Both nights were great experiences. The drink menu is ample. The tapas menu is an interesting change from other area choices. I’ll be back.

A club in Chesapeake? What’s going on? Yes it’s true, Chesapeake has its one and only martini bar/club scene going on. We had actually walked in once before but walked right out because there was some weird impromptu mic night going on and we weren’t in the mood. So we decided to give it another shot on a random Thursday night. This is definitley an «urban» night club with an extensive martini and cocktail list. They had my espresso and french martinis, so I was happy and the music was… interesting. Overall, the drinks are strong and lighting is dim so I would possibly come back late night for some drinks but we had to scream over the music and the atmosphere isn’t really our vibe so probably not.

I tried this place on a Groupon and I was not disappointed. As other reviewers have stated, the décor lends a little bit of an upscale feel and the service is good. The only thing that seemed a little out of joint to me was that there are TV screens up all over the place playing random programs on TMZ; it seemed like something you’d see in a sports bar, not a high-end martini lounge. Also, the bartender didn’t know what a Gibson is — that’s really the only reason I can’t give this place 5 stars. Aside from the Gibson snafu, the food was great — nice portions and great flavors. The crab cake is all meat, no filler!

The 45 Degree Martini Lounge is a nifty little spot in the shopping center on Kempsville Road in Chesapeake. The décor is simple and while it has an air of upscale, it’s actually pretty laid back, which is exactly what you want out of a lounge. The only thing I’ve eaten there is the cheese dish which is an assortment of cheeses served with crackers and grapes. It’s light and easy. They have two-dollar shooters throughout the week that are pretty decent and they make an okay Martini. The best part of the lounge though is that every Wednesday is a comedy night. The entertainment ranges from open mic, to showcases, to story-telling night, to improve night. This is definitely entertaining and worth checking out.

This lounge is a really nice place. It attempts to be a bit upscale but the prices are still competitive with any location’s best happy hour. This makes it a fun place to hang out. All the good times of being at a pricey place but with a much better price. The menu is nothing to brag about but still decent and affordable. I think possibly the coolest thing about the location is the fact that they do open mic stand-up comedy every other Wednesday. This is a cool feature for a place to have and the response in the community has been very positive. Additionally there are drink specials on their Martinis and $ 2 shooters all night.

The 45° Martini Lounge is a little hole in the wall in the Orchard Square Shopping Center on the corner of Kempsville Road & Volvo Parkway. When I first walked in, my initial thought was«damn, this place is small»! But after hanging out for a few, it kind of grew on me. This is a very nice spot to come in and hang out for a little while. The drinks are reasonably priced, about the same as any other bar. There is a good mixture of music and people, and is not overly crowded. The staff was very friendly and checked on you from time to time to see if you needed anything, which was pretty good with the number of people walking in an out. The best of all is there is NOCOVER! This is a non-smoking establishment, but for those that need that nic fix, you can step outside and get your smoke on. They provide you a place to put your butts out, then you can get back in and shake yours. I can get used to this!
