Service was slow, and the food was unimpressive. The burger had good flavor and was cooked to order, but the waitress declared that«we don’t serve anything with sauce or spreads» making the burger disappointingly dry. After requesting ketchup for the french fries(which were cold and limp on arrival), I waited over 30 minutes. Others in my group complained of cold food, and uninteresting sandwiches(ex: sandwich bread with cold turkey and a slice of swiss cheese). The waiter was friendly, and prices are reasonable, but Kelly’s could do much better!

I used to frequent this place quite a bit. The burgers are fantastic but that is about it. There is a female bartender there with a bunch of tattoos… I don’t think Ive ever been treated or spoken too that poorly in my life. She was not only rude but confrontational with the customers including myself. As far as the service goes I waited time and time again to accommodate her excessive texting. Do yourself a favor and drive a few extra miles to the Kelly’s on Kempsville. They offer a much more friendly staff and great service.

Worst dining experience I’ve had in a while! It took 20 minutes just to place our order(2 appetizers, 2 burgers, and a special, nothing fancy). It took another 30 minutes to receive any of our food. When the food did come, it was cold and the shepards pie was undercooked. We requested 2 small things(sour cream and a box). Both items were forgotten/ignored, meaning we had to walk into the bar area to get help. There were only 4 other tables with customers. The waitor then charged the wrong order to my card. He called the manager, and, while she fixed the transaction, she offered little concern for our complaint. Although we have been frequent visitors to several of the kellys locations, we will not be returning.

I’ve been going to Kelly’s on Laskin since I was 21… Never set foot in this Kelly’s until tonight. I walked back to the bar. On entry the only place to sit was the stool that had chicken tenders and napkins on the floor in front of it. This whole side of the bar needs a wipe down. Perhaps the bar back is on a smoke break. I ordered a shocktop because there was no blue moon. Glass completely water logged my bar napkin. I’m waiting to see if the bartender is going to notice and offer to replace it with a dry one. I won’t hold my breath. The atmosphere is friendly and the pool tables are naturally full on a Saturday night. I’m simply here to stall for time. Otherwise, if I were here on a date, I would be more displeased.

This place needs more space… Bartender is awesome. Kelly’s is a great pub! Just needs a remodel.

Complete disappointment. Two separate areas for eating and smoking with the bar, very isolated. Smokey air and decent tasting food. Fish tacos had no flavor. Seemed like a frozen party chopped up and thrown in a tortilla with tar tar sauce. Burgers looked alright. Also got a tall jack and coke, but came in a milk shake bottle. Beer was flat also. No recommendations for the is place at all.

It is what it is and it is good at it. What it is, is an Irish style tavern/pub, a working man’s bar. A bit smokey but that is normal for a bar out here. The service was prompt, the beer was cold with a decent selections of draft and bottles, and the prices were very affordable. I had the Reuben with fries. It was tasty and fresh. Although not a family place it is a great easy going bar with colorful clientele.

This Kelly’s at Greengrier is not what it used to be… the worst fish tacos ever, and the potatoe salad that was served to us was probably a week to a month old, the taste of fermentation on the salad, just taste old if not spoiled. Will never go back again.

This place caught our eye because the place we wanted to go to was packed. The bar and restaurant are completely isolated… as in another room. Place kind of smells like a cigarette though. The food is really good though, I had the Reuben which the size portion was well above average. I’ll come here again, but only to go.

Was in the area on vacation and wanted to do something that we typically wouldn’t eat where my friend and I are from. Of course, late at night, it’s mostly fast food and bars open with little chance for decent food. That’s where Kelly’s comes in. The food and drinks were so cheap. Literally almost dirt cheap – it felt like a crime. But we started with the cheese and bacon fries. So good – not cheese sauce, actual cheese and lots of juicy, greasy bacon pieces. My friend got a kamikaze to drink, a little heavy on the vodka, but good none the less. He got the Reuben. He says it was«Good! Very good!» I opted for the chicken Caesar wrap. Also tasty. The chicken was warm, plenty of dressing. It was a warm wrap which was a really pleasant surprise. Both of us had sides of French fries, which they definitely didn’t skimp on the portions, but they did skimp on the salt. They did taste a little bland, but I dumped salt on it. After that all good! Our waitress was super sweet and very attentive. The only reason I gave them four stars was the dated décor. It almost reminded me of the old Ruby Tuesday/Cheers knockoff look. I’ve seen«tavern décor» but this just looks super dated. And the smoke wasn’t that bad the night that we went(they have a smoking area), but it did smell a bit stale. So food – yes! Décor – no!

I ordered a whiskey sour. What i expected was a drink in a whiskey glass or high ball glass. I got a large juice or some type of parfait glass filled with sour mix and ice. I assume my bourbon was in there somewhere. I was told all drinks come in the weird glass per mgt. I am at a loss that in ordering a standard classic drink, Kellys can not produce anything close to what is in every bartender’s book. Oh and they were adamant that I would have to pay for it.

Cheap beer at happy hour, you can smoke at the bar, I enjoy the food but get it to go, too smoky at the bar. Very friendly crowd, pool tables and dart boards. I love the quesadia’s and steak bites.

Good service, simply awful food. The crab stuffed mushrooms arrived with our entrée over-cooked, dry, unappealing and tasteless. At $ 11.99, it costs more than a burger. Didn’t bother finishing it or trying to return it to the haggard server. The $ 15 chicken whatever with crab was a tiny portion of chicken, cooked alright, with tasteless«crab» on top that was dry and flaky. Green beans on side were cooked well, but tasteless. Potatoes were okay, but nothing special. The«hump punch» cocktail was tasty, but not worth $ 9.99. Never coming back to this location.

This is the worst Kelly’s we have been to. The place is in need of a make over. The first seat we were going to be sat at the smell was overwhelming, the host apologized and moved us. The smell of stale smoke was disgusting & our waitress had on to strong of perfume. AND we still ordered, but after finding mold in my water glass that was it. We cancelled our order & walked out.

Until recently, I had not been here in a long time, but oh my, how the mighty have fallen… This place is in desperate need of renovation(especially the restrooms). The entire place is saturated in the smell of tobacco smoke coming from the closed off bar area, so ventilation is clearly a problem here as well. Though not all that cold outside, it was freezing in the dining area. Our waiter was very nice, but the kitchen staff(I won’t dignify with the title of «chef» or «cook») was severely lacking, taking way too long to prepare/ruin very simple meals, and finding it acceptable to serve such ruined meals(specifically, chicken tenders burnt to a crisp, completely inedible). Also, they were out of Guinness. The ONLY reason I give this place more than one star is because our waiter was incredibly nice and did what he could to make the best of a bad situation.

The worst of all Kellys Tavern locations in Hampton Roads. They don’t make margeritas, the fries were burnt(I was told that’s how the cook makes them) and they understand the concept of medium well. They have drink and food specials that the waitress told me about but I was too distracted by the dirty tables, floors and overall bad appearance of this location. I will stick to the great bridge location if I want to get a burger.

Servers were friendly and prices were very reasonable. I had the club sandwich which was huge!!! I took ¾ home with me! Overall a decent place to eat offering bar type fare.

First time at this location. The bacon cheddar burger was juicy and came out the medium temp I ordered. My son was a big fan of the kid’s cheeseburger, which is saying something since he’s something of a burger fanatic. The fries were just average. I do appreciate a place that has malt vinegar, though. Unfortunately, the side salad was chock full of brown lettuce. Definitely a disappointment. We felt bad for the staff. Only one server and the bartender for the lunch rush on a holiday. They killed themselves trying to take care if everyone. I understand a server called out, but management should have planned ahead. Kudos to the server and bartender though. In the weeds, but great attitudes.

I didn’t want to have to do this, but with three check-ins it might look like I like this place. I ordered a cheeseburger medium. It came out well done. They tried again. And instead of giving me new fries, they just poured my old ones on a new plate with a new WELLDONE burger. The server apologized and asked me what I wanted to do. I wasn’t hungry anymore. My friend had long finished his meal. She took mine off the tab and asked me if I wanted to see a manager. I didn’t want to. «I’ll just write a Unilocal review.» A manager came along anyway. Visibly inebriated, fumbling over his words, and completely lackadaisical. He was rude to my friend. They literally argued over why the manager said he didn’t care that I hadn’t eaten. He COULDN’T care; he was drunk. He literally said«whatever» as a response a dozen times. Then he offered me a free meal on my next visit, by handwriting it on the back of a business card. The entire attempt at rectifying the situation was unprofessional. So unprofessional that the table behind us chimed in and thus began a «We Hate Kelly’s» club meeting.(I did not share their disdain at the moment.) So I came back a few days later. Alone. Redeemed my meal by trying a medium cheeseburger for the very last(and actually first) time. It was extremely medium well. I didn’t say a word. I ate it and skipped around on the fries that were okay to eat. And I vow to never return.

I’m a fan of this particular Kelly’s because they make the best crab dip. It’s miles beyond the other Kelly’s that serve the same dish. I’m also a fan of this Kelly’s because our waitress was on top of things. Attentive, knowledgable, funny, and talkative(but not the obnoxious talkative where you wish she would go away because you’re trying to eat talkative). I think her name was Megan. I ordered the french dip and it was a little salty, but that could have been the au jus. My fries were also a little soggy, I like them crispy. My boyfriend ordered the smoke house burger(YUM) with sweet potato fries. OHMYGOODNESS… they serve them with a side of special sauce that is a concoction of ranch and bbq sauce/spices and it was glorious with the sweet potato fries. I asked the waitress how long they had been serving this dip and she said about a year but she didn’t know if other places were serving it too. They must not be, because before the Kelly’s at Pembroke closed I was there are least every couple of weeks for lunch with an old co-worker and they didn’t have this sauce. Ohwell… I know the Kelly’s Greenbrier does and it’s worth the trip for me it’s that damn good! My only complaint, other than the soggy fries, was that this establishment is smoking and non-smoking. While the smoking section is blocked off, it is the bar section and when the door opens the smoke can be smelled within the non-smoking section. If you despise smoke, you may want to ask to sit far away from the smoking section.
