So, I really enjoyed this family owned eatery that has made me already want to come back again! They welcome you with a friendly inviting smile, and seemed to be relaxed and quick to serve and accommodate. We started off with the tempura app which was cooked to perfection, consisted of two shrimps, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. It was very flavorful and light… not so fried and heavy laden with oil like most fried apps can be. We had the hot plum sake, and really enjoyed the flavor… my first experience with hot sake, and I thought it was wonderful! My husband had sushi, and was VERY pleased. I had the chicken and shrimp fried rice that had a great garlic slash grilled sort of flavors popping in my mouth amongst all the veggies they threw in… and have decided that this birthday dinner out was a success, I was very very pleased! The nice ending to my meal was their fried ice-​cream, which was basically some sort of donut layer outside, ice-​cream layer inside sort of concoction with whip cream and a little drizzle of chocolate sauce… you can never go wrong with a drizzle or two of chocolate… unless you wanted to make it even better with some slivers of dark chocolate for good measure… now that would have been a nice welcome addition to the dessert :). Just a suggestion… not a must :)

The «Super Duper Roll» was out of this world.
The wait staff are super attentive without being suffocating.
If you want something from heaven, the fried cheesecake is out of this world.

Super slow service, our sushi sat on the counter for almost twenty minutes before the waiter brought it to us. For the money, I probably wouldn’t come here again.

We eat here a lot since we live right around the corner. Prices are good, they almost always have a groupon going, and the service is very efficient. Great for takeout too. I like the Great Bridge Roll, it is real yummy.

Decent sushi – actually pretty good sushi for Hampton Roads. Surprisingly pleasant atmosphere for a restaurant of its size – relaxing. We went for dinner and used a Groupon, so it was a good deal. We ordered a plate for two both left full.

I tried this place for the first time and did take-​out. I had the Kiss Fire roll which is my new favorite roll. It is absolutely amazing and I will absolutely be back. The spicy tuna was ok. I am more than happy with my meal. Definitely a new customer

Not a bad AYCE Sushi place to go during lunch. Most recently, I waited a very long time for my food to come out, but I understand that Sushi takes time, especially during the lunch rush. The staff is very attentive and on top of everything. Definitely try the shrimp tempura roll and the spicy tuna. Both are very good.

AYCE sushi… Hmmm. I have always been a fan for sure. Sometimes places fall a little flat, whether it be portion, time of service, construction of the sushi, or most importantly, taste. Yumi doesn’t have any of those. Service was quick, portions were reasonable and allowed me the chance to try a lot of their offerings and flavors were spot on. Honestly, the only reason I wouldn’t jump to five stars is our waiter. While not rude at all, he was robotic at best. He delivered our food correctly, but absolutely zero personality. A smile, a thank you, even just a more friendly posture would’ve brought you a feeling that you were welcome there as opposed to what sometimes seemed like he was put off by me and my lunch companions being there. At one point, a young lady server came just to check our drinks and it was a real break in the black cloud over our primary servers head. Close to work, and reasonable prices yummy foods, I know I’ll be back!

It is difficult to review this business. I have dined there now on 4 occasions. Twice for lunch and twice for dinner. I am ranking them 3 stars but if they could work on just a few things, they could become a 5 star restaurant.
Food is good. The prices are fair. Ambience is quiet and nice without being pretentious. It is not a large place.
Frequently they have lunch or dinner specials that change. Occasionally, you can find a Groupon with a good value.
Yesterday at dinner we tried the Party Roll for Two. Included Soup, Salad and 4 different Sushi Rolls. Again, food was great.
The thing lacking from this restaurant is consistent good service. Sometimes the wait staff is friendly and accommodating, other times waitstaff has treated guests as after-​thoughts.
If they can improve service they will jump up quickly on the list.

I’ve eaten here a couple times since this location first opened. Love the Godzilla roll and the gyoza (always hot and slightly crispy mmmm). The clear soup isn’t overly salty most times.
I always come for the AYCE lunch. Their menu is smaller than the plethora of other AYCE sushi joints popping up in the area. For me, this place is quality over quantity. Each roll has a distinct flavor signature. The rice is properly made. The fish is generous. Just wish the menu was a tiny bit more diverse.

Another excellent find out in the heart of Chesapeake. We came here with a Groupon however that’s only for the dinner meals… Believe me you don’t need it for lunch as they have a bottomless all you can lunch special that includes many of their Sushi offerings.
I on the other hand am not a raw fish eater, and while my co-​worker enjoyed his volcano sushi I opted for a Chicken & Shrimp dish from the grill.
The service was excellent, prices fair and the portions plentiful. I’ll definitely be back here for lunch again soon.

Never a bad experience. Food is always prompt and decently priced. I come here often and order a new dish every time and have never been disappointed!
If you are in the area and looking for a place to grab a bite this is a good place to do so.

With all of these all you can eat made to order sushi joints popping up, how do you pick the right one?
I usually go to Yu-​Mi for the all you can eat lunch because in my opinion they have the best sushi! The Godzilla Roll is my favorite thing on the menu easily. The menu may not be as big as most of the other all you can eat places, but the sushi is waaaay better in my opinion. Their kitchen options are alright. They’ve got gyoza, shumai, shrimp tempura, chicken teriyaki and a few more.
The service can be slow at times, so I usually plan ahead of time and order everything I can at once, and ask for my check early. They can fit parties of 8+ if you’ve got a crow coming, too! Overall, this is my go-​to all you can eat spot for lunch!

Love the all you can eat lunch special! Can’t beat the price, the service or the speed.
Edamame, miso soup, seaweed and cucumber salads were fresh and delicious. The nigiri options are limited, but were very fresh. They have plenty of options for rolls to make up for it!
Fellow diners enjoyed gyoza, shumai, tempura, spicy tuna roll, sweet potato roll, and volcano roll.
I only wish they had a sashimi on the all you can eat lunch — hate wasting the rice from the nigiri. Overall, loved it. I’ll be back!

My friends and I came here last night after our reservations at a different restaurant fell through. I was able to call them and ask them if they could take 18 people in 5 minutes and they said Yes!
I walked in, not knowing what I was getting myself into, but the place was very nice and decorative. I ordered a blue margarita which I’d never had before and it was ok. But the best part was definitely the presentation of everyone’s food. It was almost too pretty to eat! (I posted pictures of the food on the business page) But I’m glad I ate it anyway because it was delicious! I had the teriyaki steak and chicken and it was perfect.
I will definitely come back again :)
