Great little place in Chesterfield/​Chester. Everything was so fresh and the chimichangas were so delicious I would be there every day if I could be. The waitstaff was very nice and friendly. Definitely going to come back the next time I’m in the area.

Came back again on a Thursday night and had another nice time here. Service is excellent and food delicious. Had a couple of $ 1 beef and chicken enchiladas and the tacos al pastor. Great place for a Margarita texana as well.

Decent Mexican Food. We go here whenever we get a taste for Mexican food bcuz it’s close. The food is ok, not bad but nothing extraordinary. Service is not bad but once again, nothing spectacular. It meets our need for texmex.

Food here is excellent. You can’t go wrong with any item. The $ 1 taco night is great. And the $ 8 bowls put Chipotle to shame. I highly recommend this place. Service has improved with every visit.

Tried this place out tonight, really good Mexican food, large portions, friendly staff. had been to el patron a few times which used to be at this location but we like el caporal much better, if you like a little spice the burrito Chipotle is great and is huge. Also very reasonably priced. My wife and I stuffed ourselves for under 30.

One of the friendliest restaurants around. The waitstaff was great!
Food was good. Fajita burrito was yummy.
Ambience was standard inside with a nice patio.
I was intrigued by the Taco Tuesday Contest. Looks like the record is 31 tacos in an hour… Crazy!

I have to agree with many of the previous post. This restaurant has not let my family and I down yet. Consistently the food is delicious. The staff are not only friendly but they remember us and our usual orders every time we come in or just call!.. Pretty impressive! Dining in is a great experience with great service and ordering take out is just a pleasing. The portions are very large especially for the price! The food is always fresh, hot and prompt. The guacamole is freshly prepared and tasty. I even love the blanco (white) salsa! You can’t go wrong!

We were in an unfamiliar area,
so pulled up the Unilocal app for a local recommendation. This was close by and was highest rated. As soon as we were seated in this quaint establishment, the
fresh and warm tortilla chips were delivered. Yum! The staff was friendly
and quick. We ordered the fajita salad with grilled chicken. It was quite tasty,
although the portion seemed more like
a lunch size. The tostada shell was
even homemade. Additionally, there
was a small bar full of Latin spirits.
Would plan to return and check out
the daily specials.

Delicious food and great staff. Had the lunch carnitas and it was a huge portion of tender, lean, very tasty pork served with beans rice and tortillas. Very friendly and attentive staff took great care of me with a very busy crowd. I’ll be back for sure.

Ate here Friday night. Had amazing service again, sat on the awesome patio, and had a wonderful sangria on special. My spinach quesadilla was your basic quesadilla. I definitely suggest the sangria with tons of fresh fruit and our wonderful server.

Chesterfield Court House, VA
We were always big fans of El Patron, which is what use to be in this spot before moving to their new building, and still are. But El Caporal is quickly becoming our favorite Mexican restaurant. We’ve eaten here 3 times in the last month or so, and the food has been very consistent and very good. Burritos are excellent and the quesdillas are awesome. Good beer selection and they make great sangria. The service is also very good. We’ll be back.

Great new choice for Mexican food! In the same location as the old El Patron. Tried the Burrito Macho and it was great! Labeled as hot and while it had a good kick, it wasn’t too much. My wife also had the Fajita Quesadilla and she said it was the best she’s ever had!
