i do a lot of shopping online from local establishments. I purchased a vanity for my business that would take 5 days to come in, and it was shipped to the store. I’m the meantime I was shopping and found one in stock at another store. I never picked up my vanity and went there today to get my money back. First the«manager» wanted to know if I purchased my other vanity from Menards… hmm. She then told me I would have to pay a 25% restocking fee for my special order online item I bought. I had no idea that that was their return policy and I didn’t special order anything. I just ordered as I would from lowes or homedepot or SAMs. Then the other manager I spoke with acted like the vanity didn’t come from their warehouse but Canada, a third party. I said I was under the impression I bought from Menards and how did this vanity come through customs so fast. He changed his mind so many times on where this vanity came from. I was in a bad mood after dealing with these people. shopping should never put a women in a bad mood. I went there when they first opened and they had nothing I stick so I never went back. I thought maybe I should give them another chance. I HATEMENARDS

I’m a Marine and served in Vietnam, 01,1969 and was a medical-evacuation 08, 1969 to Great Lakes Naval Hospital. So when I shop at Lowes or Home Depot I have always received a VETERAN10% discount on my purchases. When I purchased products at Menards and asked for a military veteran discount I was told they don’t honor any veteran discounts such as Lowes or Home Depot does. Any veteran that has severed in the our great UNITEDSTATES military and placed their life on the line for the freedom of us ALL and is not honored such as Lowes and Home Depot does; let me say this, before I get too carried away, I don’t think Menards is going to get very much business from me and anyone who will listen to me. Saturday was my 1st visit to Menards. Once inside, I found the store to be huge, with plenty of items to choose from. I made my selection and took it to the cashier for checkout. When I asked about a military discount, I was told it was not available. While I mulled over this information, the cashier started in on a hard sell for an extended warranty, something I rarely buy anyway. I told her I could purchase the same item at the base and would probably do so. I left without buying anything. It was only a couple hundred bucks, but I won’t be back. This location is the closest big box hardware store to our local military base, yet there is no military discount offered. Lowes and Home Depot stores in the area will get my business whenever the base exchange can’t provide what I want.

Who doesn’t love menards?! They have such GREAT prices! We go there for everything now. We do not bother with Home Depot or lowes anymore. The place is always clean(including bathrooms) and staff has always been friendly if we needed something.

We went for the first time and purchased about 6 items. The check out girl missed one of my items. I went to the customer service counter after I checked out and asked to pay for the item. The manager told me I had to go wait back in the long line. I was short on time and had to leave the item behind. The manager barley said thank you for my efforts. It was the check out girls fault. I would think the manager could have at least took my money since I was honest and went back in to pay for the item. Very poor business practices.

You will not find a better selection of lighting anywhere. I guarantee it. Well, unless you go to one of those specialty lighting places. But we’re not talking about that right now. They have aisles and aisles of chandeliers, flush mount, inside, outside, porch, patio lights.. you name it, it’s here. No issues with returns. Employees are all very friendly. I still can’t get used to their odd checkout system(I feel strange watching someone else empty the cart on to the conveyor belt.) but all in all it’s a great place.

Good prices but they REALLY need to work on keeping items in stock. Also if you order anything online and need to return it, there is a 25% restocking fee.

My new go to place for home improvement. Tons of stuff to choose from bigger selection than home depot or Lowe’s great selection of tile as well and has just about everything you need in one place.

This place is fairly new and Pepper kept asking me about going in and when she finally gave up asking I decided to stop in. Is this another Home Depot or Lowes? No. Kind of. For some reason this place is laid out by the master Ninja of product placement. Looking around it seems like I’ve never seen anything like it but on close inspection many of the things here are similar or the same as Home Depot or Lowe’s. In Menards, the lumber doesn’t take up space in the store but uses a pickup in the back, that leaves room for nice displays of all the things you can add to your house. The one thing that I was really impressed with was the service and helpfulness of the employees. They actually seemed happy too. Is that because this place is privately owned? Maybe. Is it because they just opened? Maybe. If you only get one thing here though you need to get the little can of snack mix called«Travel Snacks. Spicy Mix»

With a new home and many projects this spring, I have been to Menard’s much more than the average person. Thankfully Menard’s is there — it is brand new. The prices are competitive to other big box hardware stores. If not just slightly better. The thing is, you really have to know the prices at other stores to make sure you get the best deal, some of its prices are better while others are much worse. If you choose to do a special order, prepare to wait. They promised me 20 days on 5 boxes of laminate flooring. They arrived in the store 30 days later. I received an email telling me they were in the store and someone would call when they were ready. Never received a phone call. Not a big deal to me but it is good to be prepared. Last week, we were shopping for gutter drainage pipes. They had a 10 foot long pipe but no cutting services. We ended up buying the pipes from Lowes because they would cut them down for us. To sum it up, Menard’s is worth the look. There’s a large selection.

found everything i was looking for and even got a few ideas for future projects while walking around. Menards has more of a homeowner feel to it unlike Home Depot or Lowes which are fine too but are more suited for the contractors in the overall layout of store. Every employee that i spoke with was very helpful and if they didnt know the answer to my question they didnt hesitate to ask another employee for it, unlike my experience at HD where they told me to go ask the guy over there im busy. i heard they are building a new Menards in Warren at 14 mile and Van Dyke, i hope so since it will be closer to me i could spend every weekend here without a problem
