Service very good. Food average. Broccoli soaked in butter and cajun buffalo chicken sandwich super salty that I couldn’t even finish. Second time here. Ribs ok first visit.

They can’t even get their hours correct so what makes you think they can get your food right. Showed up at 8:43 signage stated open until 11 pm but this place was locked up like they were guarding the arc of the covenant inside. Never again. Make your hours. Know your hours and stick to them.

I swore I would NEVER go back. I had so many people tell me to give it another shot. So, I finally did. Went for happy hour and was able to try some awesome dishes at great prices. Our server was fantastic– he was helpful with the menu, even told us items to steer clear of. I appreciate the honesty! He always kept our drinks filled and checked on us– awesome! We will definitely go back. However, I wasn’t a huge fan of the mac n cheese everyone raves about. It was ehhh. I’ve had better, and I’ve certainly had worse ;)

Came in at 5:45 pm on a Saturday night and was seated right away. My wife had the mushroom bisque soup along with the house salad and said it was very good. I had the Grouper sandwich, fries, and a side of Mac n Cheese. The fish was good and hot. The bun was a little too much for a fish sandwich. The fries were cold and I should have sent back. The Mac And Cheese was good, but not great. The service was really good.

Lollipop pork chops are amazing! Best parmesan crusted whitefish in town. Twisted onion soup is a must try — won’t find anything like it. A bit on the pricey side — average meal is $ 15 and soup or salad is a $ 5 up charge. The portions are not that big but everything is delicious!

Reading through the reviews I see that Manager Tom Brady reached out to at least one unhappy customer… what? The rest of us unhappy customers are chopped liver? Thats ok Mr Tom Brady… I wouldn’t go back to your restaurant if you served me good food on time for free!

I’ve eaten here twice and both times it was delicious! Their Lobster Mac n Cheese is killer and the Diablo Burger rocks as well. The fried pickles and jalapeño cheese dips are both great as well. I love their«Commit to the Mitt» slogan and am a fan of their having Faygo on the menu ;) The atmosphere is nice and comfortable, similar to Fridays(WAY better food than Fridays) or most other bar/casual dining restaurants. Anyways, this would be a 5-star except I want to go a few more times and try a few more items before I commit to a 5-star rating. I’d definitely check it out though!

Fun place with a lot of menu items to choose from. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious! The side of mac and cheese that I ordered was so yummy too! Our waitress was very pleasant which made for an overall enjoyable experience. You get a lot of food for your money and many of the menu items support Michigan business/products. I’ll definitely return to this place!

Came here for late night happy hour between 9pm and close on a weekday for their $ 4 appetizers. The portions were pretty decent so this was an incredible deal. We got the waffle fries, bbq quesadillas, and calamari. All were pretty good but afterwards I was so thirsty! Everything definitely had a ton of salt in it but I didn’t notice until afterwards.

Enjoyed the beer and food. I added photos of the menus for your voyeur pleasure. No one cares about seeing what I ate.

Great concept, Michigan products served in a Michigan restaurant! Really good food, welcoming décor and friendly service. Worth the trip no matter how close or how far. Lobster Mac n Cheese is good, Reuben is good, French dip is choice and Calamari is fresh and thick with no little rings or tenticles just good thick meat slices. Desert… Forget about it, it’s a no brainer, everything is good.

Used to love this place but the service is terrible! Took us 10 minutes to be seated on a Wednesday afternoon… then the waitress disappeared. She came back ten minutes later and we were ready to order but she took our drink order and left. Took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. She had a bad attitude problem and our food took wayyyyy too long to get out. Which is sad because the food is real good, but theres no management on the floor. All young girls who don’t give a fuck about their jobs.

Good food locally sourced and made well with great service. Didn’t have to wait long for anything and wait staff and management were very attentive. Was going to try the Doritos crusted bacon, but was steered away from it due to few people liking it. Probably for the better because I had high hopes for it going in and probably would have been let down. Ordered the French dip with fries and an extra side of mac and cheese. The mac was good and disappeared quickly. Based on the basic mac as a side I can imagine their mac entrees would be pretty good. Fries were seasoned well with salt and pepper. The French dip was fantastic. The meat was already dipped in the au jus, but I prefer to dip my sandwich as I go so I had to ask for some on the side as well. Much better that way, but it was good even without the extra au jus kicker. Great deal for the price.

This was a new place for me. Service was ok… but a little slow. Was clean. Noticed that pretty much all menu items including bar menu where altered everyday items. Ordered a margarita and they did have a simple margarita… some alteration of one… wasn’t that good. A a Reuben sandwich that was altered with provolone and sauerkraut/coleslaw come on it’s a sandwich and has been around forever to the test of time and why mess with it. The specialty. .mac&cheese I sent it back, not sure how you can screw that up. Both house and Caesar salads were both made with romaine lettuce didn’t have any options for iceberg lettuce. I should have given it three and a half stars but that’s just the way it is I can’t knock them for trying create there own versions of what’s worked for years. I guess I’d go back if someone else was paying.

This is my second time here and I am impressed with how friendly and prompt the staff is. My server Courtney was wonderful. I started out with the southwest nachos which were absolutely amazing. The flavor combinations melted in your mouth and made u want to slow down and savor every bite. The plate looked so good full of color and life and was delicious to the last bite. For the main meal I had the Roo burger which was the special of the day. From first bite to last your taste buds where delighted. The taste of fresh off the grill was delightful. I was extremely satisfied with this scrumptious meal.

I dunno. 2.5, 3 stars is appropriate, I suppose. This place reminded me of a step above an Applebee’s. I liked the concept, and some of the food was pretty good, but there were also some real misses and the service was lackluster.

I arrived in town for work and needed somewhere to eat. The Twisted Rooster was right on the same road adjacent to the hotel. The staff was friendly and Jenny was attentive enough. I started out with a nice cocktail and because it was happy hour there was discount on appetizers. I enjoyed the Fire Roasted Jalapeño Cheese Dip which came with nachos. My entrée was Salmon burger which was good but the accompanying waffle fries was super salty. The chef will tailor your meal to your specifications. I actually fond that putting the dip from my appetizer on my salmon burger enhanced the flavor. This may be a new menu item that the Twisted Rooster can offer. The atmosphere was casual with music playing and the crowd was steady but not over crowded. I was there early evening so I was able to watch the place fill up. As a visitor to the area I’m inclined to try different restaurants and would definitely re-visit due to the close proximity to my hotel. Their drinks are real drinks in my opinion and I can easily drink and walk without effort to my hotel. I’ve sampled a couple other establishment and this is so far the best.

The ‘Roo is my spot for a good dinner. This place is all about supporting Michigan by only serving food with local produce. If it’s from Michigan, the ‘Roo will serve it. This includes Valentine Vodka! Menu has a perfect selection of appetizers, salads, entrees & sandwiches. They do have a happy hour; call the restaurant to inquire. My favorite dishes: Jalapeño cheddar dip — spicy & cheesy Kobe beef entrée — comes with matatoes & asparagus for only $ 13.99! Amazing deal Lobster mac & cheese — not a fan of mac & cheese but they bake it with lobster & a parmesan crust on top My only issue with the ‘Roo is the consistently slow service. Been here five times, but never had a good server. EACH server I’ve had is slow to take drink orders, always forgetful(if I ask for more napkins, etc) & rarely cleans up my table. Obviously the food here is amazing, which is why I keep coming back.
