We have been here several times on the weekend and the food and service keep going downhill. This past Sunday, I ordered the hikers Benedict and the temperature of the food was barely warm. We were finished with our meal for 10 min with all our dirty dishes in front of us and the waitress was no where to be found. After many subpar breakfasts here, I’m not going back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This place was absolutely horrible. service and food! Meals were cooked different from what the menu stated and two plates of food had the cheese paper cooked in it. or at least thats what they told us it was from. our waitress had no clue what she was doing… will never go back nor will i recommend this place! Would rather eat at Dennys!

I ate there mid-morning on a weekday and service was great. Not crowded. Food was fast. The seasonal lemon berry ricotta pancakes are TODIEFOR. I’d definitely recommend this place if you like home style breakfast. They have a good variety of options on the menu.

Have been here many times… The service has become worse each time. In my latest experience our food was 45 minutes late. In addition to that the orders were all wrong. When the food finally did get to us, it was cold! Not coming back…

Had a wonderful whole wheat pancake, two soft poached eggs and bacon. Service was excellent. Just a short wait to be seated. Tony is an exceptionally good server.

Delicious, fresh food. Quick & friendly service. Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked, the«build your own omelet» ingredients choices were plentiful. Coffee a was smooth, orange juice is fresh squeezed.

For me, three stars mean, «I would go back, but only if I were really hungry and it was right there.» The food is okay, better than a diner, and better than a Denny’s or IHOP for sure. Still, I can see what one reviewer meant by saying«It’s a Denny’s». It does have a «chain feel». The food isn’t special or above average, just good enough to make you feel like you weren’t cheated. The service… It’s funny: I was starting to feel weird about it as I was waiting for a table(by myself, late on a Saturday morning). The place was pretty full. It wasn’t the waiting that bothered me. It was the way the employees interacted with customers. They seemed avoidant. They’d give you the bare minimum of eye contact and conversation needed for them to check you off their list and move on to the next thing. The way they talked to each other seemed stressed – not the normal kind of «this place is busy» stress, but the«this is not a good place to work» stress. When I got to my table, it did take over 5 minutes for a waitress to show up. She said, «I hope you haven’t been sitting here too long», but her voice and face suggested she didn’t really care. After I ordered, I looked up the restaurant on Unilocal, and sure enough, other people have noticed service problems, too. Still, I don’t think it’s the individual servers that are the problem. From what I saw – particularly the ways they interacted with customers and with each other – the problem is management, and probably the«organizational culture» that management is creating in the place. I suspect the employees are subject to too many rules for them to be able to relax and be themselves at work, and that management has designed a workflow that makes it impossible for servers to give good service to customers – which shows in their interactions. It’s a shame, both for them and for customers. I write all this out in the hopes that management will take note.

Slowest service ever. From the time we walked in to the time we actually got our food was over an our and the wait for the table was 10 minutes. Kitchen got our omelette wrong as well. Had a great waffle but not great enough to return unfortunately just because of the speed.

Had low expectations as I stopped into this small chain breakfast place for a meeting. I was greeted friendly and accommodated when I asked for a table near an outlet. I ordered OJ and a «Create your own» omelette. The OJ was fresh and just the perfect amount of pulp for me — which is almost none. I ordered an omelette with bacon, sausage, spinach, tomatoes and cheese. It did seem to take a bit long, but arrived perfect temperature, and was simply outstanding. I mean, it was so good, it’s what compelled me to write this Unilocal review. One of the best omelettes I’ve ever had, and absolutely the very best I’ve had from any chain. The amount of ingredients were perfectly balanced, the meats were full of flavor, and the spinach and tomatoes fresh and brightly colored. The pepper jack cheese had just the right amount of spice. I sound like I’m overstating, but again, it was simply one of the best I’ve ever eaten from anywhere. The place is clean and bright, and has free wi-fi that’s easy to connect to. 5 stars from me. I highly recommend giving this Egg And I location a shot.

Be prepared to wait a couple of hours to eat breakfast. when checked with waiter he was rude and answered that’s how it is here they take long to cook breakfast. This is my third time to this restaurant and they don’t show any signs of improvement in terms of wait time.

Food is excellent, and the service is even better. Food always comes out super fast, and today I came in 5 minutes after they were closing and they still seated me and fed me happily. Not many places would’ve done that!

Wish I could leave negative stars. When you order 2 omelets and an order of poached eggs it should not take 18 minutes(yes I timed it, because it to 15 minutes just to get 4 glasses of water). The omelets were perfectly warm but the poached eggs were cold along with the English Muffin. Chrissy was enjoying the music playing singing and dancing throughout the restaurant rather than watching her tables(she only had 3 and the restaurant was empty). Either she needs to get her act together or needs to be retrained. Or get her out of your restaurant.

I’m not sure if this place has changed cooks recently but the quality of the food is a bit inferior now compared to a year ago. I ordered a pancake for my two year old and it was charred, not sure how a breakfast place cannot cook a pancake but hey everyone messes up… So I thought maybe they will get my blueberry pancake right, wrong — it was so undercooked it could have been a milkshake.

Food is good but service is terrible and so are the managers. We had 45 minutes for breakfast. We waited 5 minutes for a server to show up(who told us she was busy dealing with another table that had service issues). We explained we only had now 40 minutes to eat and the server told us the ticket time in the kitchen was running 18 minutes and she would watch it closely. 35 minutes later she brought out our food which was cold with unmelted cheese on eggs. We immediately asked for to go containers and the bill. The manager came out to say she heard we had issues. When we explained she blamed it on the holiday weekend and took nothing off the bill. When leaving a couple sitting at a table at the restaurant next door told us they had overheard the conversation and had similar experiences and no longer went to Egg and I. Get new managers cooks and wait staff… then maybe we will be back.

First place I have had real fresh corned beef hash. Not canned, not too salty. Perfect! Friendly staff as well. Thanks Melissa for starting my day off well even with the rain!

My wife and I came on a Sunday, Fathers Day, no less, so we expected a little wait. They told us 45 min, but it was closer to 25. Caleb, our server, was super friendly and wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. My wife ordered an Iced Mocha which we got while our meals were being prepared. When he came back a few minutes later to check on the drinks(I just got coffee which was good and served in my own carafe), she hesitated for just a moment. Caleb insisted that she should love Mocha. She admitted that is was not quite as sweet as she preferred. He instantly whisked it away and had a new and sweeter Mocha for her within 2 minutes. We is a smile and an honest apology. The food was delicious. I ordered the Patriot Waffle, Belgium waffle with blueberries and raspberries with eggs and bacon on the side, and a side of biscuits and gravy. The waffle… yum, yum, yum, the bacon and eggs were standard and the biscuits and gravy were good but seemed a little«canned». It did take a little time to get our food, but we were not in a hurry(we often bring books to read and ipads to write and call it creative time). Caleb high fived us for being readers and shared that he like to read and write, which endeared him to us. All in all, it was a good experience as long as we are not in a hurry.

Nice and quaint little breakfast/brunch location. I usually grab my coffee from the Starbucks right next door before I go in(sorry if i have a choice in my coffee I go for the Bucks over house brew any day). Anywho, the apple cinnamon pancake is deliish and comes with an amazing whipped cinnamon butter. No need for syrup this baby is large and in charge.

I haven’t even had the food yet and I’m already upset with the service. We have been waiting 45MINUTES for our food and its not even full in here. I asked the waitress and she said the kitchen is really«backed up». That’s no excuse. You take care of your customers regardless. No one should ever wait 45 minutes for their food. This is absurd. I don’t even want my pancake anymore… it’s already lunch time.

Completely TRASH!!! Visited this place on a 4−25−15. Wasn’t busy at all. Waited 25 minutes to be seated. Ordered the most simple meal on the menu and still sat for an HOUR plus before my food was served. Place is clean… However service was completely trash! I’m from Chicago, so I’m used to waiting a few minutes for something. However, this is unacceptable. Manager wasn’t even present to handle the situation. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy on his best day.

I’d been a regular at a different, «The Egg & I» but after a really questionable experience(check my review for more about how I got injured, etc.) I mostly avoided going. However, this location was just stellar! The food is delicious as always, and the employees at this location were attentive, nice, and otherwise wonderful. In the future this is the«Egg & I» I plan on going to a lot!

My wife is more of a fan of this place than I am. It’s not a bad spot but something seems slightly synthetic about the eggs here, I never get the feeling my eggs just came in from the truck that day. Ironic given the name of the place, they should excel at their eggs. I do like their pumpkin coffee though although I hardly need an entire carafe!

I came in around 11 on a Saturday and was seated quickly. I ordered the egg deluxe sandwich and did not wait long at all. The sandwich was perfect for a hangover — the perfect amount of greasiness with bacon, cheese, and sourdough bread. Te ranch potatoes are a great side as well. I highly recommend this place!!!

I met my college chum for lunch. We decided to go at 11 a.m. in case it was busy. She was there when I arrived, so we had a large-sized booth with plenty of elbow room. It’s very fresh and clean inside. There are patio tables with umbrellas outside. The restroom is pristine. Our server was delightful. I got a Diet Coke, and it comes with its own little carafe. How fabulous! As it turned out, we both got a breakfast meal. The menu is HUGE: 7 types of benedict biscuits and gravy fruit muffins and other breakfast breads breakfast meats 7 offerings in the«Smarter Choices» section 13 offerings of pancakes, waffles and French toast eggs, omelettes, skillets, frittatas galore 10 sandwiches 6 entrée salads soup and salad combos It took a while to decide. She got the Apple Cinnamon Granola Pancake — Granola and apple slices baked into a whole wheat pancake, sprinkled with cinnamon and served with cinnamon butter. It was huge, and took up MORE than the plate. I got Huevos Rancheros — Flour tortilla layered with refried beans, melted cheese and two eggs any style. Topped with salsa or pork green chili, sour cream and green onions. I got my eggs sunny-side up and selected the green chili. It came with ranch potatoes, which were very well seasoned and had some really crunchy pieces. YUM! The Huevos Rancheros were served in a skillet, thus separate from the potatoes. That was good for me. I don’t like my food mixed up too much. The eggs were cooked perfectly. There weren’t too many refried beans, another plus, but they were very creamy. The green chili added wonderful flavor. Service was spectacular and attentive throughout. We both had a hefty to-go vessel for another meal. And we both chipped in $ 13 that covered the whole shebang.

First of all, this review will say nothing whatsoever about the taste, quality or preparation of their food because we didn’t actually eat anything. They may have the most amazing eggs benedict in St. Louis County but I will never know… Here’s the story: my wife and I showed up and told the host that we were a party of two for breakfast. He asked us if a table would be alright. Generally, when asked that question it seems to imply that there are no booths available. How strange it was that he proceeded to walk us past 3 open booths and into the back room where he attempted to seat us at what may be the worst table in the house and immediately next to what appeared to be the only baby in the restaurant. Seriously?!? We told him that we would prefer a booth instead and he offered us our choice. We took a seat and waited a full ten minutes before someone who appeared to be in charge of the place stopped by to ask if we had been helped yet. Why no, we had actually been thoroughly ignored. She tried to get away with simply taking a drink order but after 10 minutes of waiting I was eager to get the show on the road. I asked her for a kid’s menu for my wife because she has a very small appetite when it comes to breakfast and generally orders off the kid or senior menu. We were told that they had a kids menu but that they wouldn’t serve anything off it to customers over 10 years of age. How about a senior menu??? Nope! When asked about smaller items the best she could suggest was half of one of their benedicts(the wife hates everything benedict) or one of their not-quite-as-huge-as-the-huge-patrons-were-eating big dishes. Again, not what she wanted… and the manager/owner/whatever lady refused to let her order a smaller dish off the kid’s menu. Seriously?!? We left.
