Absolutely my favorite restaurant in town! Awesome assortment of vegan/vegetarian foods. The vegan BLTA, BBQ sandwich, and Pub sandwich are some of my favorite fake meat dishes. All waffles can be made with their vegan batter, and are delicious! I know there’s a tofu egg scramble that sounds great, but I have yet to try it. The side dishes differ depending on the days, but the vegan Mac Salad and regular salad are my top favorites. When checking out, there’s a little bakery that has a good mix of vegan/non vegan desserts! Cupcakes, cakes, ice cream, and other chocolates are available at a decent price. The Tiger Lily Café has such nice, caring staff that make an effort to make your experience a good one. The chefs take their time preparing a meal that tastes and looks great. If you choose to sit inside or outside, the atmosphere is calm and very pleasing. This little café really is a hidden gem. Overall, the Tiger Lily Café is a must-try for anyone who loves friendly staff, good ambiance and amazing food!

I love the bakery part of this café, where they also serve coffee, espresso, latte, cappuccino, hot coco & tea. Many choices of vegan pastries and cakes that do taste good. The lady in that counter is always friendly, helpful, and chatty. I like that. keep up the good job!

This experience was a first. We actually used Unilocal to find a good place for breakfast that wasn’t necessarily a chain restaurant. We found this place. Walked in and asked if the 4 topper was ok as we were a party of 2. We were told it was. When I came back from the bathroom, we had been asked to move for a large party. No one ever sat at the table. We had to ask for menus and silverware. When we ordered, it was two waffles and a coffee. Did you know that to refill coffee, the waitress takes it back to the kitchen? Neither did I. I would like to offset the ridiculous and incompetent service with a statement that the food was good but I can’t. We waited literally 45 minutes for our food. ITNEVERCAME. FOURTYFIVEMINUTESFORWAFFLES!!! MANAGEMENT: if you want to only do catering, CLOSETHERESTAURANT. Your staff is incapable of waiting on customers and serving food. Read your Unilocal reviews because we are telling you the problem. The pastries looked great. The other patrons’ food looked good. Your staff was horrible. We left. Never got our food and no I didn’t pay for the coffee. That was your payment for wasting 45 minutes of my trip waiting.

Awesome and diverse menu! Meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans… My sister-in-law was in town from Germany and she was pleased with the vegan friendly options on the menu along with the friendly staff. I even tried a vegan option… The Pub sandwich… OMG…so good and full of flavor! Thanks

We wanted so much more for this place, but execution just didn’t live up to the marketing. The menu looked great– which is what drew us in. Unfortunately, we were informed they don’t serve any of the waffles, crepes, or breakfast items after 11am(this was a Saturday!). We thought we’d opt for dessert instead, but they had no ice cream, so that half of the menu was also unavailable. We ultimately settled on a few sandwiches because we felt bad leaving at that point. We should have left. We waited over 20 minutes for our sandwiches. We had lots of time to observe. We watched another table being served 1 – 2 meals at a time, with as much as a 5-min wait between food coming out for others at the table — some were finished eating when others were receiving food at the same table. We watched several other bored patrons also waiting for food. We watched servers not refill our waters. We watched a server bringing food to a table wearing plastic kitchen gloves. By the time our food arrived we were very hungry. Unfortunately, the food also disappointed. The BLT-Avocado was served on wheat bread that was thin, soft and slipped right off the sandwich upon lifting it up. The avocado was in cubes for some reason(why not slices or spread out?) so that made the sandwich fall apart even worse. The other entrée was a «tacodilla» — basically beef/cheese/jalapenos inside a quesadilla. It was fine for what it was, nothing gourmet. It came with chips and salsa but the chips were stale. Overall clearly we had a rough experience here. I hope it was an off-day, because the marketing and overall atmosphere of the place have so much potential. Unfortunately they need to train the staff and improve overall professionalism if they are going to draw repeat business. And please consider serving breakfast all day– at least during weekend brunch hours!

The food was really good. They also have really nice desserts to pick from! Service was a little slow. You have to pay at the counter and if their are people picki g out desserts it takes a really long time to check out. Overall I would go again. Great place for lunch with friends.

We had to call the waitress over to order, after waiting for quite a while, only to find out we had two different menus. When I asked, she said one side was the vegan menu. Instead of having a fancy«v» at the top it would help if they had the word«Vegan» so we would know. My friend had a breakfast menu on one side… I never knew they had breakfast. If you have different menus, give them both to your customers. A wall sign said they had flatbread and crepes… not on either menu! And no info on the type of flatbread or crepes anywhere. We finally ordered. I was asked if I wanted fries, Cajun fries, or pasta salad… as if the side were included with the sandwich.(It is NOT and no where on the menu does it say that fries are extra). When I inquired why I was not told they were extra, or why they were not listed on the menu as extra, the owner pointed to a small special board that had a small handwritten price for«added fries». They forgot our order, so we waited and waited some more. My sandwich was just ok and not worth the price. I can overlook one problem, but when the total dining experience is lacking in so many areas, it seems like it is more than just a bad day. Sorry, I will not be back.

Unfortunately, this could be a GREAT restaurant, because some of the food is very good, even though what I had today was mushy and tasteless and others vegans at my table were less that wowed, I will not be back, nor will people in my party. On our first try on a Saturday over the summer and after driving 45 minutes, the restaurant was closed due to lack of staff. Then last month and yesterday, we waited over 40 minutes to be served, while others around us got their food. Last visit we were at least offered a discount. This visit, the owner made excuses and insulted me by only taking off the charge of my bacon, which was three dollars. They also waited 30 minutes to tell me that they were out of the crêpe batter, which tells me that they did not even BEGIN to work on our order until then. The owner was less than accommodating or sympathetic, just made some excuses about why they could not get out meals for a party of 7, and even said something about not wanting other tables to wait. She didnt seem to care that we were unhappy even when I mentioned we came out for my daughter’s birthday. She could have done many things differently to keep our business, especially acted apologetic, however, she is a very poor manager. Our bill was over $ 100 plus we had desserts, future revenue that owner could have, but won’t.I Poor, poor management. If you have several hours and don’t mind sitting and waiting for food that may or may not be good and maybe needing to change your mind because they run out of things, this is your place, otherwise, skip it.

Delicious! DELICIOUS! DELICIOUS! We saw the sign off the expressway that said Vegan and it had everything we could want. Even for myself the meat eater. Everything we had was great & that pub sauce should be bottled and sold. Wonderful service, great selection of baked goods and reasonably priced.

Not just vegan but delicious vegan! And protein!!! One of the challenges of a veggie diet is finding satisfying healthy protein. The beef seitan with black bean pesto and siracha was perfect. The cucumber salad was a good side choice and a little variety from the usual chips. The outdoor patio was perfect for the weather and the servers were very nice also. A fabulous lunch! And they do have choices for carnivores also.

Based on Unilocal reviews, we got off the interstate and searched this place out while traveling through the area. Food was good; Cobb salad and turkey BLT were both fresh tasted good. However, service was not very friendly. You know the feeling, like you’re an imposition. Ordered ice tea, didn’t specify nor was asked sweetened or unsweetened. Got sweetened, took a while to get changed. Didn’t have a chance to drink much by the time I got it so asked for a go cup. Dumped what I had left in a cup and didn’t offer to refill. Got 2 scoops of ice cream to go; looked like melon balls scoops for $ 4. Bottom line, good, fresh food, just didn’t feel welcome.

This place is amazing!!! I’m not a vegetarian or a vegan and I still loved it!!! They have plenty of standard menu choices like BLT with Avocado, chicken bacon ranch wraps, Italian beef, panini’s, etc… So don’t avoid this place based on the other«vegan» reviews. I almost did and am so glad I didn’t! I’m sitting here listening to the Beatles play as I eat the most delicious Tomato, Basil, Mozz panini with a vegan Mint Brownie on the side. I would never know there’s anything«special» about this brownie by the way it tastes. Really one of the best brownies I’ve eaten from a bakery. This place is incredible. I found my new Chesterton lunch spot!

In the area for a business meeting I needed a place to grab a quick bite and take a conference call. I hit the jackpot with this plate. The pear walnut salad is delicious. I asked for chicken to be added because I needed the protein and it was juicy and tender. Bottom line: whether you are vegan or not, if you are going to eat in Chesterton… eat here!

It’s too bad nearly every time i visit my mom in Chesterton, it happens to be a Sunday-Monday visit because Tiger Lily is closed on those days. Flew out late Tuesday this time around, so got to do lunch here. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. I had the vegan roast beef and a delicious salad with an amazing house-made dressing. I can’t find the menu online so i can’t tell you the exact name… sorry. The non-vegans at the table enjoyed their meals as well. FYI, they do have outdoor seating. Please support this place so I have somewhere good to eat next time i’m home. Thanks!

So you love sweets? So you’re a vegan or vegetarian? So you feel like eating some food? Then look no further than Tiger Lily. They have a great, clean and warming environment. The owner immediately asked us if we were vegan or vegetarian and pointed out the vegan options. I had a brownie sundae(vegetarian but dairy free and delicious) and my companion had a vanilla milkshake(vegan). Both were amazing. They also have a little gift shop which will be great around the holidays for female friends. Fun postcards and the like, but the thing to come for is the FOOD. You won’t regret it.

Vegan’s dream in northern Indiana! They asked right away as we entered if we wanted the vegan/vegetarian menu and while we ordered they confirmed everything was vegan(salad dressings, etc…) The food was great, I wanted to order more but we only had enough stomach space for 1 meal ;) I had the«bacon» seitan and Daiya«cheddar» panini with a fresh salad… delicious! My husband had the Chipotle«chicken» seitan wrap and we kept examining the seitan because we couldn’t believe it wasn’t really chicken! Everything had great flavor and were good prices. They offer everything on the regular menu as a vegan option as well, so you can go with a group that have mixed diets. The workers were so friendly and checked on us regularly. We got some groceries at the end and added them to our food bill. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again!

So many vegan foods in the middle of nowheres! Thankful that this place popped up while I was on a road trip. The food was fantastic, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only thing that threw me off was that there is a small grocery store in the back… and the employee’s McDonald’s cups and jackets were on one of the tables.
