Solid breakfast place! Customer service has gone way done since I started going there a few years ago. The scene is old school. The waitresses are older women. They give you a mom/grandma vibe. I used to enjoy the humor and chit chat with some of them. Last couple of visits have been sub par… ranging from cold food to being told that complimentary means free… when I had initially asked if I could substitute my fries for a side salad.(word of advice… no substitutions) hit or miss with pasta and chicken dishes. Stick with breakfast. Burgers are descent!

Nothing too special about this place. Always home to great staff and tasty food, but there isn’t anything that sticks out in particular. Doesn’t help that they aren’t open 24 hours anymore. Well, there’s always Huck Finn’s…

Definitely a bummer that they’re not 24 hours anymore. I live in the neighborhood and this was always the«after a night out spot.» Anyways, I never leave dissatisfied with this place. The soups are usually great, service is your typical Bridgeport/Mckinley Park diner vibe, and the menu is extensive. I might argue that the prices are flirting with being too expensive for a diner, though. The breakfast skillets are always satisfying and so are their burgers. I’ve tried much of their ever-changing menus and those are the two items I usually go for.

Archview is one of the better diners in Chicago. Their food’s good and they have an enormous menu.

Great menu, great selection. And they have crepes quick service. Had the Mexican skillet and it was very good. The coffee tastes better than many breakfast places I’ve visited before. Will definitely come back!

They are no longer 24 hours. I love diners and used to really like this place. After some time and trying different menu items I realized what they serve is not worth the price. And most of the time just not good. I love the Greek salad, but that’s about it. Everything else I’ve had leaves me upset that I have to pay for it. Sorry Archview! I still love your super 90’s interior and your service is just fine, but I won’t be back for a while.

Good food, good prices, good atmosphere. They’re not open 24 hours anymore which is kind of sad, but doesn’t take away from it being a good place. It rivals Hucks down the street. Service is nice and quick.

Definitely prefer over Huck Finns. Bigger menu than Huck Finns. Food is good. I have been going here for years and the food isn’t the best but for a local diner you don’t expect 5 star cuisine. Waitresses are always nice. Love their sandwiches and Alfredo pasta.

I love the soup from here. The dumpling soup is amazing. Deni and I always enjoy the food when he is on lunch from work. We have great conversation over dinner all the time. The cakes are AMAZING !!! The staff is very friendly

It’s a solid standard, great neighborhood place. The prices have risen sharply recently, has been gradual over the years but the last one was a big jump. $ 24 for a skirt steak seems pretty steep for the Archview. Breakfast is my girlfriends most favorite meal and the Hawaiian omelet is always calling her. It’s a great go to, the police are always eating there, and I would never turn my back on her.

They are no longer open 24⁄7 as of Sept 2015. They are open every day from 6AM — 10PM I usually come here when I’m craving for their taco or julienne salad and tuna club. It’s only 5 min walk from my house. I prefer Archview over Huck finn because of the menu.

Archview is a pretty typical dinner. The food is decent, the prices are eh, and the staff is sometimes grumpy, but usually very nice. The décor is okay if you like seaside murals. The burgers are good insomuch as what comes on them and the breakfast food is all very standard. The coffee is bad, but the cup is endless(good enough for me). The Malibu croissant(chicken, bacon, mayo, croissant) is delicious and one of the most redeeming savory plates. The desserts and soups are usually a hit or miss, but a shot I’m willing to take. Go here over Huck Finn’s unless you prefer a belly full of grease.

They have good breakfast’s and there breaded pork tenderloin is very good. The burgers aren’t bad either.

The food consistently sucks here. Had dinner here(breaded pork tenderloin) with mashed potatoes about a month ago. It was marginal at best. Yesterday, I had the Florentine Benedict for breakfast. Awful. The eggs were so runny they just got lost in the english muffin into mush, and the hash browns were barely even cooked. I told the server to take it back and re-do, when it got it back the hash browns were burnt not crispy like I like them. I can remember coming here back in the day and the food was always decent, they must’ve changed owners or something because the quality of the food just sucks now! I give this place 2 stars because the service has always been very good. But I won’t be coming back here.

There’s not many 24 – 7 spots in the south side, but I highly recommend going here if you’re having a late night craving.(Would not recommend Huck Finn) The service is always quick, attentive, and respectable. Whenever I go here, I have not had any problems with the service nor the food. From their breakfast selection to lunch and dinner, a lot of their items are delicious. Whenever I go in for breakfast, I order pancakes with chocolate chips. I would recommend anything on their menu. This is definitely my go to spot if I’m craving late night American.

Went in last week for breakfast and when I opened the coffee creamer there was mold inside it! Completely lost my appetite! To make things worse when I told my server, she reacted very nonchalantly. I will NEVER visit Archview again!!!

This is really a good place to eat but I have to give it 2 stars because of the management & a situation that I witnessed. My husband & I were eating lunch when all of a sudden we heard a loud woman’s voice saying«you got a problem with me? Come over here then .» A manager or whoever she was, was talking to her bus boy like this which was totally unprofessional in front of the customers. She then proceeded to keep being loud & call people stupid & other derogatory names. It was such an unpleasant scene to watch & she made everyone feel uncomfortable. You don’t treat your employees like crap in front of your customers– you take them to the side or the office & address any issues. I refuse to have my meal ruined over bitchy managers with attitude problems. I don’t know her name but she has a small tattoo on her neck behind her ear.

What’s there to look for in a diner? Not service. The food was mediocre. The waitress was sour and only friendly to the regular cops who eat there. I feel so out of place eating there with my date. I’m not sure if I have been spoiled about eating out in other diners but food that I ordered will usually get placed right in my face instead of at the edge of the table where I had to scoot to get it. The«good» thing about eating here is the appetizers are doable. They’re really average for the average price. Not really sure if it’s worth the drive to come out here to eat besides them being open 24 hours. Good luck and enjoy your food.
