Disgusting all salt and grease, no flavor«special» of the day. Guy said it’s a steak special, I asked what kind of steak, he says beef. No duh. But is it tbone, skirt, NY strip, tenderloin, rib eye, or what? Seems like he couldn’t help l, but I’ll give it a shot since the picture made it look like skirt steak. 10 minutes later, I got 4 pieces of the thin cut short ribs cooked«medium“on a less then sizzling iron plate with a perfectly shaped mound of very dark fried rice topped with a sunny side up on the side. The rice and egg was extremely bland, and the rice was overly greasy. Then it made sense after I took a chewy bite of the rib. It was very, very salty. So that’s pretty much the flavor of the special, salt and grease. Felt like I’d would’ve died from high pressure and a heart attack if I ate that dish.

Came here one night for some Filipino food. I was surprised they didn’t have tenola so I settled for the fried fish over a bed of rice. It took a while for the food to come out so you know it was cooked right when I ordered. The fish was very flavorful. They kept the skin on the fish giving it a nice crisp texture but there was not enough meat on the fish. I thought my dish was a bit on the pricy side but it still satisfied my craving!

I was super craving for tocilog(tocino, egg and garlic rice) so I Unilocaled it and found this place. It is in the lower level food court of Richfield building, it looks exactly like the food courts in Chinatown, Phils. The tocilog was exactly what i wanted! The pancit guisado was delicious. The lumpiang shanghai was undercooked, but I can fix that. Overall, I am happy that there is a Filipino place near my area. Great for takeout! Griselle, the manager said you can order delivery in GrubHub! We will definitely be back to try their lechon kawali and sisig!

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in the rural Philippines… So I’ve had the gambit of Filipino cuisine. The lumpia here was alright, but the adobo and the pancit bihon rocked my world! This is my new Filipino food dig, close to home! I’m gonna try their halo halo tonight! Gustung-gusto ko ito!

Bahay Kubo is a Filipino restaurant located in Richland Center’s food court. It’s a small little shop that offers an array of Filipino food. I was excited when I learned a Filipino restaurant opened up less than 5 minutes away from me. I met my friend there for lunch and we shared: Lumpia Shanghai: Filipino style eggrolls with pork and vegetables. These eggrolls were deep fried to the point it was burnt. It made the eggroll too hard and the meat dry out. Longaniza Platter: three sausages(almost like a chorizo, but it leans more on the sweet, salty, and sour side), mango salsa, garlic rice, and a sunnyside up egg. The rice was cold and did not have enough garlic flavor to it, the longaniza was really greasy and too sweet for my liking, and the mango salsa had no type of flavor to it. The only thing they didn’t screw up on was the egg. Halo-Halo: a mix of sweet jello, beans, and fruits covered with crushed ice and evaporated milk and then topped off with ube ice cream and corn flakes. This dessert was way too sweet for my liking. There was no balance at all; it felt like I was eating a mouthful of sugar. This was a huge disappointment. It may be the only Filipino restaurant in a couple of miles from me, but I would travel the extra 20 – 25 minutes for good Filipino food. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to this place, but I might still come to this location if I was really craving Filipino food and didn’t want to travel far.
