Very healthy, delicious, and budget-friendly. It might be hard to locate, but it is in on the ground floor of a food court(at the end). But it is worth every bit of finding. I come here a couple of times a month, and I only have one recommendation: Get the beef brisket noodle soup!!! The flat rice noodle, combined with generous portions of beef, along with a tasty broth — a winter favorite of mine. The owner is very friendly and likes to get to know his customers. I will be coming back soon as I am busy with school at the moment.

This place will do the deed if you are in the mood for no-frills Wonton noodle soup at a pretty affordable price point. I got the fried fish balls(yummy and not greasy!), garlic yu-choy(tasted fresh; not super garlicky), and 2 shrimp wonton noodle soups. I didn’t realize this at the time of ordering and didn’t think to ask, but pretty sure the shrimp wonton filling is shrimp, minced pork, and mushroom. It was delicious and fresh tasting, with more mushroom and pork flavor than shrimp but I don’t regularly eat pork anymore, so it posed a slight problem for me; my fellow pollo-pescatarians and pescatarians, be aware! It is Chinatown though so I wasn’t totally shocked. I believe it is a one man operation: he is really straight to the point but friendly, and so efficient! My order of 2 noodle soups, the fish balls, and yuchoy were ready in 8 minutes, and cost me under $ 20! Everything was hot and fresh. I will return but may pass on the shrimp wonton noodle soup due to the potential pork inclusion. Highly recommend!

Food Court dive serving excellent flavor, and portion for your $$. It’s rare to find a $ 5 meal these days. 5NOODLECHOICES — thin or wide egg noodle, thin or wide rice noodle, and instant noodles. BEEFBRISKETNOODLESOUP($ 4.50) — very good brisket and it seems to be his specialty. Tender tendon. Slightly salty broth that is balanced with wide noodles. A good amount of brisket chunks. FRIEDCHICKENWINGS($ 3.50) — small wings, but good enough for the price and portion. DUMPLINGS — housemade. Wrapped in between orders and cooking. SERVICE — a one man crew whose a little rough on the edges. He has a quick, what do you want attitude. Don’t take it personally, he is a busy man. On his free time, he wraps dumplings. :-) COMMUNICATION — Patience is a Virtue. You may practice your point the pic skill, then glance and nod. LOL MENU — limited that serves the general public. If you don’t feel like Chinese food, you have Fried Porkchop or Fried Wings. Garlic Yu Choy with rice for vegetarians. I look forward to $ 7 Lamb Noodle.

This was my first meal in Chicago! It’s a cold, rainy day so I was definitely in the mood for something soupy. Menu is simple and only has a few items. The guy helping us was standoffish, if you’re not used to the Chinese fast restaurants then you’d maybe perceive it as rudeness. I got the 5 spice beef noodle soup with wide egg noodles. It was perfectly flavored with a lot of noodles and some lettuce on the bottom. It was only $ 7, so cheap for the amount of food you get! I’ll definitely be coming by this food court for more lunch eats.

The prices are reasonable. They are in the food court of the Richland building. The flavor is spot one. For a quick meal and no tip needed, it’s a great place for pickup. The parking can be tough but if you have someone with you. It may be easier. Calling ahead really makes it quick. I think it’s a husband & wife that run the business. They are friendly and the husband speaks enough English to understand your order.

Small menu but everything is good. The owner is nice and friendly. I love his chow fun, best non greasy chow fun in town. I have been here over 5 times now, food quality is very consistent. Fast service. Therefore, I give them 5 stars.

It is open(October 18, 2015) delicious cheap eats in a basement Asian food court. Big bowl of Noodle soup for $ 7 or less — with beef or lamb or fish balls — and you can select from 5 types of noodles. Bilingual menu with pictures. It is not fast, the guy taking the order is also the guy preparing your food, then puts it on a cafeteria tray for you to bring to a table in the middle of the food court. Clientele is a mix of locals, students, and tourists who know this hidden gem.

Delicious noodles and fried fish balls. They make their own fish balls, and you won’t find that at another restaurant in Chicago chinatown. Quick friendly service all the time.

Is there even a zero star for rating? I mean, I came from Asian culture, so I know sometimes people just don’t pay much attention to customer service. But, this owner took the wrong order from me and even yelled at me when I tried to explain. He kept asking me «What do you want from me?» in a really rude way. Plus, people here are smoking, regardless of the«No Smoking» sign on the wall. Will never come back again.

Great noodles at a fair price. They offer 5 varieties of noodles in various styles of soup. It’s cafeteria style so nothing fancy. Nice owner who’s friendly and a good cook!

Food court food — while a restaurant may be considered the hidden gem of a food court, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s actually good food. This is probably the best way to describe Yummy Yummy Noodles — it’s not bad food but it really can’t compare to any of the nearby restaurants that serve similar dishes. The only thing keeping this at 3-stars rather than 2-stars is the price, convenience, and that I didn’t really hate the dishes although I didn’t find anything particularly likeable about them. The Fried Wontons were really the best part of the meal, as they were light and crisp — but the filling was a bland and completely indistinct. It might be pork with shrimp but it wouldn’t have made a difference if it was completely absent from the dish. The Beef Brisket Chow Fun had slightly raw green onion which imparted an unpleasant bitter flavor to the dish. The beef brisket itself had a nice soft texture and the noodles had a fresh feeling to them. The dish itself also wasn’t overly saucy. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup with Added Dumplings. The wonton noodle soup for a noodle restaurant must really shine as it’s the primary dish that most people will judge a restaurant by. The noodles themselves had a nice flavor and bouncy firm texture to them, however the soup lacked any body and pleasant aroma to it. The wonton had a strong mushroom flavor to it that completely overpowered the pork and shrimp that was present. The dumplings were indistinctive, with a light pork flavor but nothing you’d remember soon after eating the meal. Beef Brisket Noodle with Added Beef Offal. The beef brisket was tender but wasn’t very meaty or flavorful. The offal had the typical flavor of organs(mostly like liver) and was soft and decently prepared. Yummy Yummy noodles is quick and cheap — but doesn’t have any special or distinct dishes that would make me come back versus going to a slightly pricier restaurant nearby like Chi Café, Sweet Station, or Ken Kee.

My friend and I shared spicy beef noodles here(we got the wide noodles). It’s a little greasy, but that’s just because of the spicy oil that they use. The noodles were pretty much like Xi’an Famous pulled noodles, and the beef was tender and delicious. I think I’ll have to order this same bowl again next time and maybe even try a different noodle. Maybe the egg noodles?

whenever people asked me what my favourite chinese place is in chicago, my answer is always like«i don’t really have one in chicago… none of them are that good» . but wow… i am glad i tried this place… i love their wontons and their noodles… reminded me of those i had growing up… well…ok…these may not be the best wontons i have ever had in my life, but this is the best i had in chicago and i would go back for more! It helps that they are on grubhub!

Solid spot. Got the beef brisket noodles, and my order was ready in just a couple of minutes. Egg noodles were good and had a nice bite to it. Good amount of beef. All was good but nothing outstanding. Wished they offered chili oil, instead of sriracha, but no biggie. Was going to give 3 stars, but for $ 4.50, you really can’t beat this value.

I remember stumbling down into the Richland Center basement many years ago with my parents who spoke of this place like one would describe an explorer finding a treasure chest on a deserted island. While I did not share their excitement at the time, I frequented this modest, simple, and delicious noodle stand on a normal basis. There are many things I love about going downstairs to patron this spot. First off, it’s incredibly quick to order(since there only a few people who dare to venture downstairs). The owner is incredibly nice(and always has special recommendations on daily specialties). The prices are really low for the amount of food that you get. Most importantly, the food is really good and arguably the most authentic HK style noodles in Chinatown. While there are a surprising amount of items on the menu, I would suggest to keep it simple. They make both the best egg noodles and flat rice noodles I’ve experienced in Chinatown. The egg noodles have a nice chewy consistency, while the rice noodles are smooth and silky. The broth is flavorful without being overpowering, and goes well nicely with either the wonton or beef brisket toppings. My favorite is the combo of wonton and beef brisket. I usually spend around 5 – 6 dollars on a bowl of noodles there, which is great for my wallet. Unfortunately, there is a very small amount of food traffic in the food court. They do deliver off of Grubhub, but the owner is a very pleasant fellow and I would suggest going down there and saying hi. Especially if you’d like to beat the busy lines happening in the other restaurants upstairs. Quick, cheap, and awesome.

Imagine my excitement after reading the past string of 4 and 5 star reviews. I was hyped up for some really Yummy Yummy Noodles! Despite frequently dining in Chinatown, I had no idea that this place existed until it came up in Unilocal search results. The reason is because it’s a stall located in the basement of the Richmond Center. I believe the owner took my order, and he was very nice. My order was for two Wonton Noodle Soups with extra wontons to-go, and they were ready in 10 minutes. He packed it so carefully, the containers stayed in tact even though I dropped the package. Being a frigid winter night, I couldn’t wait to warm up with the food. Upon first bite, I noticed a good amount of shrimp and pork filling. However, both my brother and I agreed that the wontons had an unusual flavor. I thought that maybe they simply weren’t fresh, but my brother said there was almost a fermented bean curd flavor. The light broth seemed like the standard soup base — I enjoyed that since it was clean soup/not too salty(a lot of places err on this side). Instead of yau choi, there was cabbage instead, which I think is a cheaper substitute. Overall, I’ve had better wontons at particularly any random place in Chinatown so I’m very confused by the amazing reviews for this place.

For Asian moms who love noodle soup, this is manna from heaven. The aptly named Yummy Yummy Noodles(so tasty you have to moniker it twice) makes delicious bowls of soup with delicious noodles. It’s located in the«food court» on one end of the new Chinatown plaza. Walk straight down, and it looks like one of the dilapidated food courts you find in Asia where your cousins take you to get the«proper» Asian food. Two bowls of soup – one wonton, one beef noodle – costs about as much as the El fare for two on the red line to get down here. The soups are Cantonese-based. Heck of a wonton soup, and the signature«light and sweet» beef broth that’s closer to phở than my preferred Taiwanese niu rou mien. I’m not quite sure when it opened, but the sparse reviews mean it’s either pretty new or located in an absurdly bad spot. I’m also not quite sure how my mother-in-law and aunt stumbled upon it, but they left raving. After a visit, I can vouch for this place being one of the hidden gems in Chicago’s Chinatown.

I don’t know if you can get much better in terms of taste and value. As of this review, a filling bowl of wonton soup is under 5 bucks and is good enough for a meal for me. Each wonton has a good amount of shrimp and pork in them. The guy’s a super nice guy who doesn’t judge me for my poor Mandarin to my face. He isn’t a dick if you pay with a credit card. Other people like his niu nan a lot but I think it’s just ok. If he just served wontons I wouldn’t care. If you want to get super stuffed, get some extra wontons in your soup for 2 bucks more.
