I don’t think place is open. I tried looking for the restaurant twice and could not find anything. So upset, because those steam buns look delicious and would really like to try. Oh well. I will give it 4 stars for the deliciously looking steam buns. Will try to search for the place again.

FINALLY a northern style BBQ skewer place in Chinatown! asldkjw;llw@#$K@#JL$ 23! Being from Northern China, I have long lamented that Chicago doesn’t have good BBQ lamb skewers. They are the perfect snack and so tasty with the cumin-chili seasoning. I tried the lamb, whole garlic cloves, chicken wings, and flattened bun. The lamb and the chicken were my favorites, as they were seasoned perfectly and cooked with the authentic charcoal grill. The garlic clove had an interesting red chili paste, kind of overpowering. And the flattened bun was just alright. Definitely come for the lamb skewers as they are the star of the show. The old couple that owns the stand speak minimal English but are very nice!

As is often the case, I was alerted to a cool dining opportunity by a Chicago Reader article: I thought the lamb was near-perfect. The garlic and beef(two kinds) were very good and the pepper was at least good.(I’d pass on the hot dog.) You may need to point at the menu on the wall with the appropriate number of fingers(as in «two of these»), but there are translations, so it won’t be difficult.
