Tried popping in to see how the counter service was compared to the delivery, and was pleased. Ordered a slice of Savage Pizza(BBQ chicken, bacon, cheddar, and ranch) and an order of Smores Ravioli for carry out. Had to wait for the Smores order, but that was fresh and great tasting(and again, my fav. dish). By the time I arrived home, the pizza was a little warm, and crust a touch soggy, but a few minutes in a hot oven brought it back to life. Very enjoyable. Some of these combinations of ingredients are a bit of adventure, but fun! Tonight’s selection worked out well. Only drawback was not Big G’s but the ‘Entertainment Tax’ the city of Chicago has for areas so close to downtown, resulting in about a buck IIRC in taxes on an order for $ 7.75(making it $ 8.75??). Otherwise I liked it a lot and will be back to try other unusual combo. pizzas: D

Closest thing to New York style pizza in the area + super affordable and delicious. The Mac N Cheese slice satisfies all cravings & love the baked/grilled wings

Had a slice of cheese pizza, soda, fries, and their smores ravioli. Yes that’s a lot of food, don’t judge me. Food was excellent it’s a nice spot to eat and chill with friends. Service was really nice he gave me an extra ravioli since it took a little while to serve. Clean place, decent prices, and good quality for being in a college town.

Warning: slow delivery and ice cold pizza. Ordered through Grub Hub, and pizza arrived 1.5 hours late, ice cold. Worst part: I live like 4 blocks from Big G’s. Grub Hub requested a partial refund from them in compensation, which Big G’s DENIED. Basically, they don’t give a rat’s behind about customer service.

Average pizza for a decent price(2.75 a slice). My buddy and I went last Saturday afternoon and the cashier was using his bare hands(no glove) to grab each slice… So there’s an area they can improve. They’re wings are good though. Not sure if they give a student discount since it’s right next to UIC. Many better options on Taylor Street in my opinion.

A group of friends and I visited this location to redeem a groupon. The pizza was possibly the most bland and greasy pizza in Chicago. I felt like I was in college again between the atmosphere and mediocre food. I would say it’s great for a party night or hangover the next day but not if you’re looking for anything with an ounce of quality.

Mac n’ Cheese pizza! Yes! Big G’s combines my two favorite foods to create a cheesy, carby masterpiece. They sell pizza by the slice so it’s nice for a light dinner or heavy snack. Their famous«crack fries» were decent, but certainly did not live up to the hype expressed in the menu. A different, and more flavorful sidedish would be the garlic knots, those things were tastey, but not ideal if you’re on a date. It’s also BYOB!

The flavors they have here are insane. I’ve had the Philly Cheese Steak and the Mac ‘n Cheese pizzas. They get much crazier than that. I suggest everyone should come in here at least once; they will have a topping to suit every palate. And they occasionally give out free slices if you answer a riddle posted outside their location. However, I have a few gripes. First is their prices are quite high just for a slice of pizza. You can get two slices for about the same price at Taylor Made just down the street. Second is while the pizzas are very tasty, they are very thin. Probably the thinnest I’ve ever had. One slice won’t satisfy a grown person and may lead people into buying an additional slice. However, this will just lead you to trying a new unique flavor that you may end up loving.

My first experience at Big G’s was interesting. Memes everywhere, ridiculous(in a good way) amount of pizza choices, and a scary door that leads to a scary staircase that leads to a basement which is probably just as scary. This place definitely has a style of its own. If you want a burger, get a hamburger pizza. If you’re feeling very Italian, get the fettuccini pizza. They’re vegetarian friendly and it all just make you go «huh, is that good as a pizza?» And yes it is! The staff is nice and they have varied choices in music. The staff is on the smaller side(haha) so it’ll take a while for a delivery to arrive. P. s. The mac & cheese pizza is overrated. It’s good, but not that good.

Try every slice!!! My last visit, I had a Mac n cheese slice and a Jack Daniel and onion ring slice. So legit! I think the manager or owner is a dj too because every time I got up to leave another banger on his playlist came on, having me sit right back down or start dancing. Great pizza, great music.

Quality slice of pizza. They do more of a new york style slice, thin with a good crispy crust but somewhat flimsy. They have a lot of different types of pizza to try and they’re well known for the mac and cheese pizza but it is not my favorite. They also have the diablo slice which is a crazy spicy piece of pizza that will make your mouth burn. Another cool thing they do is sell dough to go, so you can make your own pizza at home and add whatever toppings you want. They will tell you what temp and time to bake at and give suggestions for any other cooking questions you may have.

Unique and flavorful NY style pizzas. The bacon cheeseburger pizza and the Jack Daniels pulled pork pizza are both tasty. The smores ravioli is awesome. Will have to try the smores pizza next time.

I’ll give maybe 3.5 stars. It was good, but maybe I’ll bump it up if I try another pizza. They were friendly, but the inside was pretty bare. I think if you can do carrry out, that would be the better option. Garlic Knots — They were okay. Jack Daniels Pulled Pork Pizza — I liked the crust a lot, but it did have a bit of burnt taste to the bottom. I probably would not order this one again as the sauce was a bit sweet for us. Would definitely like to come back to give a sausage and mushroom pizza or another specialty one a try.

Great«New York Style» pizza. You know, the kind you have to fold in half to fit into your mouth. Greasy, but not too greasy. Great variety of toppings — anything your heart desires. I would venture to say more topping alternatives than Piece Pizza in Wicker Park, which is another favorite of mine. The seating is very limited but Big G’s is BYOB, so if you can wait for a seat to open up, it’s a great place to share a few beers, a pizza, and people watch. I knocked off two stars because the first time we called for delivery, we were told they don’t deliver that far. My boyfriend pressed them, saying that we were within walking distance(sort of — it’s 1.3 miles away — we Google mapped it) and that Jimmy John’s, which is across the street from Big G’s has delivered to us. Upon hearing that, the person on the phone fessed up and and said they were just short-staffed and couldn’t do some deliveries that night. I know that wasn’t his fault, and I know he was probably trying to cover, but we were super disappointed that we were lied to and that Big G’s wasn’t fully staffed on a Saturday night.

Do not patronize this place. The owners do not honor Groupons and make up rules on how they accept them. The owner was extremely rude and did NOTHING to make the customer satisfied. ANDTHEPIZZAISNTALLTHATFORHIMTOBESUCHANASS! I hope their nasty attitudes aren’t indicative of how they prepare their food!

Came here for a late lunch today around 3 pm. The menu covers the entire left wall on chalkboard, and it’s a bit overwhelming when you first walk in. They also sell a variety of pizza by the slice at the counter, but unfortunately nothing is labeled and I felt bad asking what kind every slice was, so I just went for the first one that was fully loaded and sounded good, and a veggie one. The Savage(bbq chicken, bacon, cheddar, ranch) and 3 Veggie(spinach, portabello mushrooms, sweet red peppers) were both good, New York style thin crust, very oily, quite tasty, and probably very unhealthy for you. I tried blotting my first pizza slice a bit with a bunch of napkins, but not sure how many calories that actually saved… I liked the crust on The Savage better than the 3 Veggie, because the latter’s got a bit soft and soggy instead of retaining a crispy crust. Maybe this wouldn’t have been the case if I had ordered a whole pizza pie freshly made instead of getting a reheated slice? Dunno. Very simple, no frills ambiance, so you definitely come here just for the food and to check out all the interesting topping combinations. Mac n cheese pizza, anyone? :P

So good. I usually cook most of my meals and are 9 times out of 10 disappointed by delivery food. I went on a limb(well, on a group-on really) and have to say… this will be the first place I think of next time I’m craving pizza. It arrived SO fast, it was still hot and not to mention delicious. I went with a simple pizza this time but would love to try some of their more unique toppings next time around. Yay!!!

I checked this place out when my friend and I were doing some errands. The restaurant itself is a nice and cozy pizza parlor. The menu was creatively done on a huge blackboard. I liked the«school and pizza” themed menu. Only con about the place is that it was awkwardly quiet. Maybe some background music will liven up the mood. There were so many options to choose from, but I decided to order a slice of the mac and cheese pizza. Let me start with the crust. It was crunchy and buttery which was the perfect combination! The mac and cheese portion was put together nicely. A little greasy, but it’s a pizza! Overall this is a great quick stop for a bite for some delicious pizza.

Had their CHICKENPARMESANPIZZA at Italian fest. I’m not typically a fan of a bird on a pizza but this is something that you SHOULDTRY. I wouldn’t shy away from their traditional pizza either, although I’ve never had it. They had a well-made pizza dough and a tasty sauce so I have confidence.
