Papa John’s Pizza

My favorite place to pick up pizza on Fridays. Their thin crust pizzas are really great.

WTF?! So, they charge a delivery fee but the lazy delivery guy won’t deliver to my door. The pizza isn’t great, delivery sux so that’s the last order unless we’re desperate! I want my tip credited back to my account!!!

We ordered 2 pizzas with 2 toppings (pepperoni-​parmesan & Canadian bacon-​pineapple) as per an online promotion. And some garlic knots — never leave out the garlic knots. Both the pizzas and the garlic knots (moment of silence) were delicious. We had leftovers that heated up well. Service was standard. Will be ordering again from here.

I am from Indy and this place is a piece of home for me. The only reason why this place does not get 5 stars is because the people on the phones charge me full price for a large johns favorite 90%of the time. Occasionally I get someone who knows what they are doing and charge me the 15 $ special price, but all the other times I end up paying full price. I tried to haggle before, but I give in pretty quick to people that are making my food.

this comment is not about their food it is about the ignorant people who work at this place. I somehow ordered a pizza from papa jones and it turned out that my delivery will be next day in the morning because the store was already close, i mean WTF why would you accept an order if you are not gonna deliver it.
Anyways, so this store was the second closest store and it was open so i called them to ask them if they can deliver it.
First call: i explained my story, the guy simply hang up the phone did not even say no we cannot deliver.
Second call: i water in the line 10 minute, no one answers.
Third call: a someone picked up the phone and immediately hang up.
Four call: a lady answered the phone, i said i want to cancel my order she asked me my address so i explained what exactly happened, she hang up the phone.
Fifth call: the first guy answered again i told him i want to cancel my order he said we cannot you have to call the store you ordered from first thing in the morning. i asked him what time do they open he said something but i did not hear him right so i reply i’m sorry did you said ten, he hang up the phone.
WTF !!!

I used to love ordering from this location. Super fast delivery. However, after this evening, I will no longer be ordering from them ever again. I pre-​ordered my pizza at 4PM. The app said 5:15 delivery so I thought– too early I’ll do a later delivery at 5:45. I FINALLY received my pizza at 6:32. When I called to ask at 6 what was going on, I was put on hold for over 5 minutes. I then called back and asked for a status. He said the driver just left and should be there in 10 mins. 25 minutes later, the driver showed up. I understand weather, etc but when I’m ordering that early AND selecting a LATER delivery time, I expect them to uphold it. AND if they are running that far behind, there should be a way to notify their customers. I’m really disappointed in the way this was handled.

I ordered from this store and got a stone cold pizza! Not only its cold, its undercooked and tasted like it has been sitting under their warmer for a while! Were very upset and disappointed to have gone and driven out expecting good food like they say, only to get a cold and undercooked pizza! Were never endorsing this place or this pizza to family and friends! Awful!

I order the large 2-​topping special for $ 10 but was charged $ 14 something. When I showed them my phone that the price for the pizza was suppose to be $ 10, the cashier acted like she was doing me a favor to changing the price. Ugh first & last time I’ll come here.

Now let me start by saying that I usually despise Papa John’s and that this one was considerably better than others I’ve been to. I think what helped with this experience was the fact that when I ordered online, I requested that the pizza be well-​done, which allowed me to avoid the undercooked mess I’d experienced previously. If you’re looking for average chain pizza, this is an okay spot for that sort of thing. It’s Papa John’s, so I didn’t expect magic, but it’s perfectly fine pizza considering where it came from. I ordered a small pepperoni and sausage pizza with extra sauce as well as a cinnapie. Previous cinnapies I’ve had weren’t covered in oats the way this one was, but it wasn’t too off-​putting if you’re fine with a bit of texture. Overall, taste was just as sugary and bad for you as anything can possibly taste, but again, that was expected. I can’t relate to some of the other reviews posted here about bad customer service, seeing as I ordered online and avoided interacting with a human being until they delivery guy made it to my gate. Note: The driver did not knock on my door (but no one does, perhaps because I live in a basement?), but he was friendly enough and didn’t force me to come to the car or anything. He called me about 40 minutes after I placed my order and it was a pretty painless transaction.

If I could have 0 stars here I would! DONT EVER ORDER FROM THIS LOCATION EVER.
The store manager Anastasio, is a DICK. The delivery driver showed up without half of our order. Was rude, turned around and left. When we called the manager to see whats up all he had to offer us was a 2 liter of pop. We paid over $ 35 and got only half a dinner. We asked for a refund and the manager would not oblige because he did not see this as an «issue». I told him I was going to write and review, call corporate and talk to the store owner, he said he did not care.
Let me just make myself clear. when your idiot drivers makes mistakes, its YOUR responsibility to take accountability for those actions. I will never order from this location again and I have been a loyal customer for 4 years. I am absolutely disgusted at the way I was treated and I hope everyone reading this review takes their business elsewhere because respect is deserved and this location and their «management» need a lesson in that.

Bad customer service, but the fact is, they will never run out of business because they are located near UIC and students will always come here. I would still go even if they give bad customer service because they are cheaper then Taylor Made and it’s so convenient. The manager/​owner probably knows this and could care less about the reviews, as long as they make the money.
Just go in and out and you’ll be fine, but it’s not your typical suburban Papa Johns. The cashiers flirt with female customers. I saw one get into an argument with a customer and was even ready to fight with him. Didn’t think you could get bad customer service at a carry-​out place, but these guys proved me wrong!

2 hour delivery and rude about it on top

The pizza is ok for a chain. But I gotta give them a good rating for having my three pizzas ready in like 20 minutes on super bowl Sunday at the last minute despite having a severe blizzard at the time.

I have been with this exact location for three years now. My experience with them has always been great. They are very professional and have always been good to me. I have probably used this location 30+ times and have never had any issues.

BUYER BEWARE: papa johns will not deliver your pizza unless you answer your phone. They will not come to your door and knock. They will not ring your doorbell. They will sit in their car, call you and drive off if you don’t answer.
Used the app to order ahead for my kids and sitter while I was out. Placed order at 3pm for 5pm delivery. Got a text from sitter at 5:25 that pizza was still not there and found a voicemail (while I’m trying to enjoy a rare date w my husband mind you) saying driver was outside our house. When I called, driver said he left because I didn’t answer my phone (because I was at dinner) and I said someone was at home all evening. He was afraid of «being robbed» which is why he wouldn’t take the 10 steps to our door to ring the bell and chose to sit inside his car instead. After two calls to the store and driver, they deliver…90 minutes after the schedule time.
Oh and the manager was entirely unapologetic and snarky when I recommended they rethink this stupid policy. He blamed this whole thing on me for not answering my phone and providing a good alternative number. Worst customer service experience ever. Starving children. I informed the manager that when I used the app (and received a confirmation email) NOWHERE DOES IT SAY YOU MUST ANSWER YOUR PHONE TO GET A PIZZA. He said he had no control over that.
Will never, ever order again. Deleting app as soon as I publish this review.

The pizza was alright, what you would expect from Papa John’s. However I had to give this place a one star because I the peperoncini they gave us was half eaten already which I think is a grievous offense.

Unbelievably terrible customer service. It’s hard to believe just how terrible this place is compared to their direct competitor.
Bad orders happen but when they happen twice in a row and then the manager has the audacity to get mad at you when you complain it’s just unacceptable. Will never order from papa johns again.

As far as low cost, chain pizza take-​out or delivery goes, Papa Johns is the best IMHO.
We usually order online and pick it up ourselves because it’s so close to home. A pick up run usually consists of the hubs being the runner that goes in to get the pizza while I keep the car idling on Racine Ave, parking is limited to whatever street spot you can find. I’ve never had to deal with anyone at this location so my rating is purely based on price and product. Our pizzas are always ready when they say they will be, the quality is consistent and the hubs usually can get it at a price that beats their coupon deals. I don’t know how he just does it but he can get 2 large anything on em pizzas for under $ 19 or a similarly ridiculous deal.
When Papa’s in the house we’re all happy.
