This café is fantastic. Good space to get some work done and grab a quick meal. I had the jerk turkey wrap. It was delicious, fresh, and large portions! The service was friendly and fast. The owners are great people as well! Will definitely be back! Update: Stayed for a couple hours and did work. Such a fun atmosphere with rich conversations and great music. Also got a latte and cookies to go. Wonderful!

Just tried the jerk turkey wrap and a german chocolate cupcake. YOWSERS!!! DELICIOUS! The ingredients/veggies in the wrap were super fresh! It was just perfect! Don’t let me start on that cupcake, smh. Simply amazing! Flavor — perfect! Moistness — perfect! I’m definitely going back to try other food options plus the other cupcake flavors. I suggest you check them out too!

You have to try the Jerk Turkey sandwich. The food here is amazing. The owners are so down to earth.

1. Decent coffee. 16oz $ 1.25. 2. Inexpensive generous sized sandwiches. Veggie 12 in for 4.99. 3. Cool, easy going staff. No pressure. Friendly. 4. Plenty of room to park the car

If it were possible to say this place doesn’t just get zero stars but actually owes them, I would have selected that option. Despite a guaranteed delivery window of 30 – 45 mins, my order showed up 1 hour &40 mins later. Completely wrong. I ordered a bagel with peanut butter & got a bagel with nothing on it & a tab of cream cheese thrown in the bag. I ordered a bagel with Swiss cheese, tomato & mustard & got a bagel with lettuce & tomato. When I called to tell them this, their customer service superstar said«what the hell do you want me to do about it?» And then refused to refund my money. Avoid this pitiful excuse for a restaurant at all costs.

Ordered from GrubHub — I asked for my sandwich on a croissant, received French bread. Asked for the bagel with honey walnut cream cheese, received pineapple. These people have some trouble reading, it seems. Also, the sandwich had so much mayo on it that the filling literally slides out of the bread while you’re eating it. The fillings were good enough, but eek. Also, I don’t really understand why the ham and cheese sandwich needed both oil *and* a huge glob of mayo? Edit: I’d like to add that many of the other Unilocalers who reported inconsistencies were also delivery orders. Maybe they should double check what comes out for delivery…

I’ve been looking for a sandwich place that delivers to my house and I am so glad I found Café Corner. The bread and ingredients were fresh and delicious. I got Ken’s Krazy Corned Beef and it was delicious. I asked for it on wheat bread but it was delivered on white but that wasn’t a big deal since the bread was fresh and bakery quality. I think next time I’ll try it as a panini though because I wasn’t that big of a fan of lettuce and tomato with corned beef.

Seriously this is one of my favorite places to go to get a cup of coffee! Me and my friend are regulars here, and the guys who work here are super nice, they go above and beyond in customer service. As for coffee, it’s perfect! Come here for great food and coffee and talk to some really cool people.

Took my daughter here after school yesterday as a treat to her. She had the bagel I had the house salad. Very friendly service salad was tasty, hard to mess up a bagel. Took cookies to go, delicious.

Food was very good and delivered quickly. My better half ordered a bagel sandwich with Swiss cheese and corned beef and thought it was delicious. I ordered a Plain Olé Passion Sandwich on white French bread with pickles and giardiniera, which reminded me of an Italian beef. We also ordered two bagels that were supposeddd to come with strawberry cream cheese, but that’s forgivable. All in all the place is really good, and prices are justified. We will order again soon. -

Nice place. Good food. I ordered panini and it was awesome. Staff is really friendly . They have really fast wifi. I liked it. Because I like to work in the coffee shops. Tips: It would be great if they will put some couches or soft chairs there, make it more cozy and comfy. Also I they will start brewing a real coffee it would be nice. Overall the experience was good. I will come back.

I work super close by and a coworker is always raving about this place, so last week I walked over for lunch. I had the tuna on french bread with added veggies. It was good but nothing special. Today I had lunch from there again and had the ham and cheese(no oil). It was super tasty and I would definitely order it again. It was much better than the tuna, which was just so-so(I think the oil ruined the tuna for me?) The french bread is a bit too thick for my liking but that’s my personal preference; the filling of your sandwich always wants to fall out because there’s just too much bread. They have a small menu but the food is made when you order and they cut all the veggies fresh, which is a big plus to me! Vegetarians have good options too. I haven’t tried the cookies or cupcakes, but I’m sure I will at some point. A coworker also raves about their tea, which I tried today. I have to say I am not a fan and won’t order that again; I will stick with a can of lemonade. The tea was almost bitter tasting and as if the water used to make it had a bad flavor as well. Knowing that Chicago has pretty good tap water, I wasn’t expecting that. Maybe it was a chemical-like taste in the ice? That could be the problem. I don’t know — something was definitely off with the taste and it was so bad that I threw it away after three sips. I also don’t understand the addition of oil to all of their sandwiches? It makes them a bit too mushy for my taste, but without the oil they are good! So, pay attention to what comes on your sandwich when you order and err on the side of caution with the oil… All in all, this is a friendly place with solid, standard food in a neighborhood that needs a place like this. Because it’s so close to work and my coworkers are big fans, I know I will eat here fairly regularly. A sandwich with a small bag of chips and a drink will run you about $ 8 I think?

Stopped in for lunch because I saw they got solid Unilocal reviews. I was at the red cross building and this was just across the expressway. The restaurant looked clean and had open space. There was some counter seating and a few tables to sit. They have several sandwiches and a couple salad options, plus one soup as the daily offering. I ordered the jerked Turkey sandwich. It was advertised as spicy and I lean toward that. They made the sandwich fresh and it was quiet tasty. It had lots of veggies and a decent amount of meat. The sauce on the sandwich was very tasty and had a nice spice to it. The only issue I had was the meat was a little mushy. It was like small shredded meat. I would have ordered whole pieces of Turkey. It seemed as if that meat was frozen and then defrosted. A bonus? They offer espresso. I didn’t try it. The neighborhood looks a little shaky but only if you continue farther north. A decent stop if in that area and looking for something in waking distance from Harrison st activities.

I had no idea this place existed until I did a Unilocal search! I’m glad I ventured out and found it. I almost gave up on my walk over there because my search for it seemed to be taking me further out into the middle of nowhere(I literally saw no one around), and that made me feel hesitant. Luckily, I made it. I walked inside, and I didn’t notice any other customers at first. My first thought was«this does not bode well.» There was a bench along the far wall with a few tables pushed against it, and a few chairs at the front bar. I sat at the bar. I was greeted by a couple of nice gentlemen that worked there, ordered a coffee, and sat with my school books to study. Within minutes, more people came in. Soon, it was full. Everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. They make the sandwiches right at the bar area, so you can see everything they do. I watched them open new bags of lettuce, and cut up cucumbers and peppers as they were ordered. Nothing was preprepared, not even presliced(except for the meats). Everything was fresh and made to order. I decided to order a sandwich to go. I had the veggie with the works. It took a while for it to be prepared(they had a full house and only two people working), but I appreciate them taking the time and care to cut up all the vegetables as they were ordered. By the time I was able to eat it, I was so glad I stopped in! It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. If you are in the area, give them a try. Definitely worth it.

I needed to be downtown all day near Rush Hospital and just didn’t feel like paying for parking, but I wanted a place to eat and drink with free Wifi and a relaxed vibe. I found exactly that at Café Corner. This has to be one of the greatest places in the city to chill for a day. I had a few sweet teas and a bagel to start, followed by a great big sprawling conversation about music, sports and Chicago in general with Ken, the owner, who was super friendly. Then I took off for a bit, and returned to have one of the finest Italian Beefs I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was chill throughout, the place was super clean, the Wifi was free; I was perfectly satisfied. I will definitely be back here. I’m specifically writing this review because I want this place to keep its string of 5 star reviews. It totally deserves it!

Quaint and cozy with soothing jazz music in the background, creating a pleasant ambiance. The menu offers a variety of items, focusing on wonderful sandwiches that don’t short you on any ingredients or taste. Fresh coffee, espresso… you name it, it’s not pre-packaged. This is a ‘must do’ place, it’s in a nice neighborhood, south side, barely.
