With LP Express closed, I came this way and see it closed too. I had a feeling they wouldn’t last.

This place is disgusting. Worst Mexican food ever. Thank God the sign in the window says closed and for rent. Can’t wait for a new place to go in there!

Sadly, this great place is now closed. «FORRENT» signs in the windows.

I’m not sure what half of these reviews are talking about when they say that there’s more lettuce than meat. I’ve had so much meat on my tacos, tostadas, & gorditas that it is literally tumbling down on itself like an avalanche. Also, these tacos are 100% better than that one restaurant on Cicero down the street. By the way, in case you haven’t noticed, Chicken & Taco Place is actually SANITARY than LP Express. Plus they overdo it with the salt(mmm heart attack!). I guess that’s where the flavor comes from right? My mom used to own a taco restaurant(El Chino in Wicker Park) & she won’t even step inside LP Express. F gross. The owner at this restaurant is extremely nice & polite. She goes above & beyond to make sure that all of her customers are happy with her food & orders Every Time. She is down to earth & should get more positive reviews on here. Chicken & Taco Place isn’t your gourmet joint, but it is still a work in progress. She just got started on delivery a couple months ago. Give her a chance to perfect her vision.

If it came with more meat it would have been worth it. Go to Garcia’s for the real burrito king.

Food is ok but for a little more there is a better taco place down the street on cicero and foster(its a little hidden south west corner) That has WAY fresher and seasoned meat.

The tacos(steak) were quite generous and tasty. I was in and out quite rapidly and the service was friendly. I wish there was more chicken on the menu, but all in all, it is a good neighborhood stop for tacos.

I love the fact that they have specials everyday. We got a chicken burrito dinner. The rice and beans were delicious and the burrito was enormous! You could feed a small village with it! Could have used more salsa with it due to the size. The workers were very friendly. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes.

I want to give you 4 stars… Decent location with a few parking spots around back. Super friendly. Food tasted extremely fresh especially the guacamole, chips & steak taco. The downside was they forgot to give me my coke, by the time I got home the food was a mess in the container either because of the way they were put in the bag or the way I carried it, the lime overpowered the incredibly fresh taste of the guacamole, the chicken was the least of my favorite tacos(tried 3 — steak, chicken & el pastor) and the tostada — the shell was soggy. All that being said, it was still pretty darn good so I definitely would be willing to try it again. I do really want to be able to give you 4 stars.

This place is just mediocre. The nachos are loaded with white onions and nothing green, not even jalapenos. The steak burrito was good, but not great. There are much better mexican restaurants in Chicago. It is really expensive for mexican food too. I don’t think I will be returning.

I’ve visited this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. Eggcelent Mexican and traditional breakfast menu to start off the day. In fact they serve«breakfast» dishes at all hours. The steak and chicken burritos are fabulous, excellent quality meat and garnished perfectly. The tacos are generous and the accompanying rice and beans make for a great meal along with the complimentary chips. The name is generic, the décor is dated, but this restaurant is a gem. Very friendly wait staff and convenient parking.

This place is in the neighborhood and the reviews about the food indicated that it was good. I decided to give it a try. I ordered a steak, chicken, al pastor and a lengua taco and an horchata drink. The people were friendly and I couldn’t wait to try the tacos once I got home. I tried the steak first and it was just ok, a little bland. I tried the chicken which wasn’t bad, I bit into the lengua taco and it was bad, the meat was tough and had no flavor, I threw it out. Next I bit into the al pastor taco and I had to spit it out, the meat had too much vinegar and a bad combo of spices. I took a sip of the Horchata drink, and it tasted spoiled. Ugh! Definitely do not recommend this dive!

You would never go here just by looking at the place, and they could probably work on the name, but my goodness, quite a good burrito. If you sit down and eat there you get free chips also. Not special or anything, but very good, and some pretty solid breakfast items on the menu as well. Would be fantastic drunk food if only they stayed open past 10:00 pm. Can’t have everything I suppose.

I am bordering on 4 stars, but waiting until my next visit. The staff is VERY gracious, very nice, and very good at explaining some of the items I am unfamiliar with. I have been there 3 or 4 times. My fav is the carne asada with the enchilada on top. Very good ground beef tacos. I was just a little disappointed with the plain carne asada and my chicken burrito. Both a little lacking in flavor, but I will give them another try… everyone has an off day. Great lil place though. Easy on the wallet, good selection. I will be going again this weekend and will shoot for the 4 star mark. Worth a visit. **Update** This place has gotten better in the last year. New menu items,(the enchiladas de mole are now my favorite item on the menu) My wife is addicted to the Taco Dinner plate. The daily specials are terrrific. Keep up the good work!

Yesterday I ordered lunch from Chicken and Taco Place. It was pretty good. The lady at the counter was pretty cool with me asking a whole bunch of questions about how they prepare their food. I’m a glutard so I need to make sure everything I eat is gluten free or I get sick. She assured me that the taco tortillas were corn, and the chicken used in the tacos is not breaded nor does it contain any flour or seasoning that contains flour. I ordered the taco plate with no beans, only rice. The rice was not dry like some places do theirs. The salsa was excellent and the chicken was seasoned and prepared perfectly. This is a great go-to lunch place, very affordable(cheaper than the place a little further down Foster) and because I can pretty much eat any and all Mexican food with my gluten intolerance, I’m set. I hope they last a while, I’ve seen a lot of places in this space go out of business fairly quickly. And I mean literally ‘see’, as I work across the street. Ha.

Yum! I was driving home from work and noticed they opened up. I had a ground beef burrito dinner. The burrito was great. The meat had a very good flavor and was moist. The toppings were all fresh. The rice simple, but good. The beans were just right. They had a nice flavor and a perfect texture. The green and red salsa was excellent! I tried both on top of my burrito and couldn’t decide, so I alternated between them. The people were very nice. I will be returning!

This place just opened up and it is very good. The name of the restaurant is Chicken and Taco Place, but they have much more than that. I personally had a chicken burrito and it was very fresh and delightful, however the person in front of me had a ½ chicken plate with sides, it looked awesome. I wasn’t that hungry so I stuck to my Burrito. I will definitely be back.
