This isn’t the original CW Napkin(2301 N. Clark), its Fornellos over on irving and Sheridan. Instead of the rich sauces, generous portions(of chicken or veal, not pasta) and super hot food I got bland, cold food with little bits of chicken in it. I am glad Rachel Ray had one good meal there, but it their only claim to fame.

Waited an hour for delivery… and I live close. Cold fries and a «BBQ» sandwich that was a dry chicken breast slathered in grocery story BBQ sauce. Bleg.

CW Napkin used to be on Sheridan Rd years ago. It WAS the best BBQ chix and ribs. Half a slab with 4 pieces of chicken… yumm, yumm. Fornello at Red Line on Irving Pk Rd delivers the menu now. Different ribs with only 2 pieces of chicken, fried and dipped in bbq sauce. If you see a c.w. napkin menu, you can just toss it. The number is to Fornello. I am giving it one star because I have to.

Guess I should have read these reviews before ordering last night. After our estimated delivery time was well exceeded, I called to check on the status of our order. The person who answered the phone was extremely rude to me. When the food was finally dropped off(delivery man — very polite), we were unpleasantly surprised to find that neither of our pasta orders had the side of «fresh garlic bread» they were supposed to come with, which is $ 3 on the menu if you order as a side. We paid $ 4 to add«4 meatballs» — and there were 2. The ravioli was said to come with«9 jumbo cheese filled raviolis to an order». There were 5. Both orders of chicken tenders were dry and chewy, a bit like chewing on straw. Needless to say, that was our first and last order from CW napkin. Word of mouth can do a lot of damage to a restaurant in Chicago, and that doesn’t bode well for this place.

Took my order charged my credit card and no food! This is the same owner as Fornello Trattoria. I now have to dispute the charges. NEVERAGAIN

I heard so many great things about this place but we ordered ribs and pizza and both were awful. The ribs were super tough with almost no meat on each bone, and the pizza came almost cold. We thought the nice thing about them would be the huge menu but it appears that by offering so many different things they probably do none of them well. Plus, the delivery time was incredibly long. Totally overpriced for food most street vendors would be ashamed to sell. So bummed since I expected such great things from this place.

I got a Unilocal account just so I can rip this place. The experience was so poor that I have since torn up the menu and will no longer order from there. Ordered online before I left work on Friday. The food was supposed to arrive at 6:10pm…it showed up at 4:45. Our nanny was here to take the food and I, on the way home from work, immediately called the restaurant to tell of the error. The person who answered the phone told me it would be sent again at 6:10. At 6:20 I decided to call, having gotten the feeling that the food was not coming. The guy who answered the phone was oblivious, said that there was some lady who took the food and that was it. When I pushed back, he did offer to make and send at that point, having dinner 45 minutes late with 2 kids is not an option. Horrible experience, horrible food. We’re done.

Like Paul F, I’ve noticed a difference in the quality of service over the past year or so. I have been ordering from CW for nearly 7 years now. Their service was always great. They used to get the orders right and quoted short delivery times and the food almost always arrived well before the estimated time. Now, completely different. Most recently, I ordered food and was quoted a 45 min delivery time. 75 mins later and still no food. When I called to find out where my food was, I was told that someone lost the ticket and the food was just now going out the door. First, no one called me to let me know that my order was never made and whether I still wanted it. Second, there was no apology or offer to make up for the issue. The quality of my food has always been good, but clearly there’s new ownership that does not care about service and hence it has been lacking. If you don’t mind getting an incorrect order from time to time or not getting your food until nearly an hour after it was supposed to be delivered, then go for it. Otherwise, there’s plenty of other places to get food and I will surely be doing that from now. In fact, I have already deleted CW from my cell.

I have a love affair with lasagna, mostly because of memories of my mom’s lovingly constructed layers of noodles and whatever she had on hand at the moment(one time she used hot dogs!). When a place offers lasagna, I usually will order it, and then use it as a measuring stick to determine how good the restaurant is. In all of my 42 years of eating I have never had lasagna as nasty and undeserving of the name. It was covered in a greasy Bolognese sauce(much of which had leaked out of the container and all over the bag) that tasted stale — but the truly horrific part was the lasagna itself. It wasn’t a casserole. It was just a huge lump of noodles, with no apparent ricotta cheese, or meat, or any obvious filling between the layers. It was like eating a giant wad of gooey, oily, dough. Maybe someone, having never had lasagna, boiled a box of noodles and served it as they would spaghetti. I regret every bite I ate, and will never eat at this place again. I would also point out that the delivery man should learn some manners. We always tip well, but usually the drivers don’t verbally and repeatedly demand a tip at the door before handing us our order. I would AVOID eating here, and I’ll go out of my way to tell all of my friends as well.
