Amazing doughnuts! Not the best neighborhood either, but that didn’t bother me from getting good food at reasonable prices!

Donuts are delicious! Customer service always lacks. Meanest workers in the world. How much does it take to look a person in the eye when you’re serving them, and then give them a genuine and warm«thank you,» at the end of the transaction? Did I say that the donuts were delicious, though? Old Fashion is better…

Eat in moderation(if you are strong enough to control yourself) you can devour these donuts once a week! Make sure your gym routine is tight though. These donuts are a definite treat for my family… yum

If you want a home made donut with just enough glaze covered over it. Then this is the place to go to. Their coffee is also delicious too. If you are in the area please try them.

A South Side Chicago Classic. Super fresh, old school, good ass donuts. Donuts made on premises, 24 hours, watch them. Regular size, spare tire size, inexpensive. South Side, bulletproof glass, door security. Leave a penny, take a penny. Regulars leave many pennies for those short a penny. Check it out, if it’s your first time come during the day, park close.

How could not love a donut place that’s open 24 hours! I’ve been coming here since I was kid and to me nothing has changed. The pineapple and strawberry donuts are the best. The customer service can be kinda bad. But you will def get over it that’s how EXCELLENT the donuts are. You would think they would be happy selling the most delicious donuts ever. If you are in the area or if you are coming out your way it’s definitely worth it!!!

Thank you thank you thank you thank you unless I go to a donut shop order a jelly doughnut then the trouble starts when I asked what flavor is the jelly inside of the donut. No one seems to know I get all kinds of answers except for the answer of the flavor of the jelly that’s inside of the donuts I’ve got an answers like its a jelly donut my reply I gather that what kind of jelly is in the donut reply fruit jelly wow what flavor fruit and that’s when the employee looks at me like I’m an imposition and asshole a burden or just that guy is asking me a question and I don’t have the freaking answer. I can understand not knowing the answer but not researching it and finding out what kind it is is not only a lackluster customer service experience it’s a part of that person not being trained properly and knowing the products that they are selling. That is the worst just the words to ask a service employee a question about something in their work environment that they should know we don’t have the answers. I almost got arrested at a store in New Orleans because they would not know the flavor of the jelly inside the donut and I was labeled as a troublemaker because I was starting trouble trying to find the answer to a typical question far as what flavor do you have in your donut. I work in the food service industry I know that people can die from eating peanuts when they have a peanut allergy it is nothing to play with and I am surprised at the store do not pay more attention and are there employees with the knowledge that they need to be able to answer questions. But however the day that I walked into that that donut there was a nice :-) that greeted me there and we talked donuts because I used to make donuts as well and I asked her what kind of jelly was in the jelly filled donut and she knew the right answer it was strawberry filled and she’s a very pleasant person the cashier was thats why I left her a $ 5 tip. Thank you thank you thank you once again Bruce Bruce

I ordered 3 donuts … A chocolate cake, a lemon cake and a caramel cake donut… When I opened my bag I had received a glazed and two plain cake donuts. Although disappointed I wanted sugar so I ate them. Not to bad. Thus the 2 stars for the fact that they tasted good just not my flavor. Plain… Uuughhh

I go here when I need a donut fix in a pinch. Unfortunately, I’m a donut lover and I have my fave spots. Sometimes, the craving for fried dough gets so bad, I retreat to the nearest donut sanctuary and this place seems to serve it’s purpose.

Fresh. Delicious. Amazing. Three words I use to describe this donut shop. This place has all the types of donuts you want with all the freshness you’ve been missing from your oh-so convenient chain donut shop. My favorites: the glazed and the glazed Big Dat. The Big Dat is big. The equivalent of at least 4 donuts in one convenient, giant, circle of sugar and fat and heaven. The Big Dat is not for the faint of heart. By the time you’ve finished a solo Big Dat, you’ll either feel very proud of yourself or very disappointed in your life choices because you don’t feel too good anymore. Or you feel a combination of the two. One thing to note: it’s not in the best neighborhood and you do order from behind a bullet-proof glass. But this place is definitely worth it!

When you walk in you might be looking why is this place behind bulletproof glass well unfortunately it’s in a bad neighborhood in Chicago. But honestly I been coming here for years and never had any problems the service isn’t the greatest but the donuts are definitely fresh and taste amazing. You can’t go wrong with any donut all of them are good my fav is the strawberry. Make the trip it’s open 24⁄7

Wow, these donuts are delicious! This location use to be the old Leon’s BBQ building from back in the day. I ordered a dozen combination glaze, cake and chocolate donuts for under $ 11.00. All were fresh and customers were coming in as fast as they brought them out. I would give it 5 stars, but they were not fully stocked with all the available flavors posted. It is best to go earlier in the day for more selections. This location is open 24 hours, but I suggest going during day light hours for those who are faint of heart about area. Don’t be a wimp, check out this hidden gem of Chicago ;)

After hitting Calumet Fisheries for dinner last week, I stopped by to grab a Dat with some friends and was happy that this experience was better than the first. Strangely, I came by last time at 9:30AM on a Sunday and the donuts weren’t that fresh… this time, I came by on a Tuesday at 8PM and they were exceptionally fresh. I asked the woman behind the counter when they were made; 6PM is when a batch came out, so don’t be discouraged that you’ll get hosed if you show up here during the evening. These guys seems to turn donuts out at all hours of the day(helpful since they are open 24 hours). The Dat is at least four regular glazed donuts in total; it’s so massive that you almost have to get that to tell the story to friends. But this was worth it and for like $ 3.50 I could feed myself and another adult pretty easily!

This place is located in a seedy area on the Southside of the city of Chicago however, these have to be soma of the BESTdonuts I’ve ever had! These donuts taste fresh and delicious. They have DJ’S beat hands down. Actually these donuts make you realize how processed DJ’S really are… smh. Nonetheless, this place is work the drive and trip from anywhere. Please try one of your donuts warm.(13 seconds in microwave)

These are really good donuts! They remind me of Krispy Kreme, but I would say even better. I tried the chocolate frosted and strawberry frosted. Both were good. I took a pass on the jumbo-sized options… entirely too many calories! The area where this place is located is a bit sketchy, so be careful when you go. I was in and out in under four minutes and had someone asking me for money in that short amount of time. Definitely not a place to hang out at, but the donuts are surely worth the visit.

Donuts here are«Ohhh…Sooo…Fresh! And just in case you didn’t know… its open 24Hrs! This means you can fresh donuts anytime of the day. Nice tasting cinnamon rolls with lots of cinnamon! Has a little place for seating but mainly people come here for takeout! Been here several times from when I use to work in the area but haven’t been here for a while. Good to get a chance to have«Dat Donut» taste back on my palate! Only drawback is finding a place for parking when it is busy.

It’s completely true — the donuts here are bigger than your head. Better yet, the quality and the prices at Dat Donut make this place worth the stop for more than just the novelty of buying a huge donut. First of all, I was a little confused when I got into the parking lot. The door is inside another door that only has a sign for Uncle John’s Ribs. Just trust that you’re going the right way, and once you walk in you’ll see the sign on the door to the right. Also, yes, the location is a little sketchy, but if you come here during the day it’s perfectly fine. Now, the donuts! Their giant«Big Dat» donuts come in glazed or chocolate frosted, and once I saw them lined up in the display case I knew I just had to have one for $ 4. I also asked for two chocolate donuts, but when I got back on the road and looked in the bag I had two chocolate frosted donuts– totally not the same thing! However, the consensus was that despite being the wrong kind, they were still better than the average donut. The texture was light and airy, similar to Krispy Kremes and definitely not like the cake-like texture at Dunkin Donuts. But Dat Donut topped both of the chains because the glaze wasn’t overly sweet, and the donuts were extremely fresh. Also, the height of the donuts was taller than I’m used to, and for just over $ 2 for two, they’re a great value! If you happen to be on the south side(or near the University of Chicago like I was!) stop by and get a giant donut and a couple of regular sized ones. It’ll be well worth the $ 7 or so it’ll cost you.
