Discount Mattress

My wife and I bought a memory foam mattress nearly two years ago. It is now lumpy and wholly uncomfortable. The mattress is supposedly on warranty, but when I call nobody seems to know what they are talking about. Additionally, the store will shut down down for extended periods of time for seemingly no reason. Avoid this money pit at all costs.

BEWARE! These guys are sharks.

While our in-​store experience was pretty positive, that wasn’t representative of any followthrough after we handed over our money. We purchased our bed on a Monday and were told that, because it was a holiday, that we’d have our new bed by «next Saturday, at the latest, but it may even be earlier!». Not the case. We were also told that we’d receive a call the day before the delivery to set up the most convenient window of delivery. We never received a call on Friday– the supposed ‘day prior to delivery’- and when we did call them on Saturday morning (because we cleared our day for a delivery), we were told that they’d actually be delivering the bed on Monday. No notice, no courtesy call– we didn’t even receive the call that they had told us to expect. Thanks for the heads-​up.
When asked about the screw up, the only response we received was, «uh, I don’t know what happened». Was it a production backup, a scheduling error, an over commitment? «I have no idea what’s going on» was the best response we could get. This wasn’t followed by an apology, or an offer for reimbursement, just silence on the other end of the phone.
We paid for a product and a service– as of yet, we haven’t received either. Nobody seemed to be getting creative to remedy the problem, and there’s no manager to speak with.
I was really looking forward to having a new bed this weekend, and I’m not really holding my breath for Monday either. What a let down.

I had a perfect experience at Mattress Discounters. The staff was friendly and truly took the time to help me understand why each mattress was different. They walked me through the decision and were honest and open. This after I had visited several competitors without getting the same experience. And in top of it all, I got a great mattress for a great price!

I was looking for a split queen box spring for a my guest bedroom. Looked all over Craigslist for a used one but couldn’t find. I didn’t want a one-​piece box spring, too unwieldy to move around. Alex at Discount Mattress came through for me at a price that was almost as good as buying used on Craigslist! On top of that, he helped me load it in the car and gave me a 10 year warranty. Thanks, Alex and Discount Mattress!

Be careful, if you open the mattress up, You will see that there is only a 4 inch memory foam topper! and 8 inches of regular foam… All these mattresses are just memory foam toppers on top of regular foam. BEWARE!
Price is cheap, but you can get a memory foam topper at Walmart for ~$ 150
It’s not right that they are naming these things mattresses, that is not what they are.
Ask your sales associate to take the cover off the mattress and you will be pleasantly surprised, I was!

My girlfriend and I were in the early stage of moving in together and needed a new queen bed. We were looking for a reasonably-​priced memory foam mattress.
We originally began our search at Ashley Furniture, where we were followed and shown beds by a typical salesman that was working on commission. They had one lower-​end bed in our price range. We told him we’d check out a few more places in the city and be back.
Towards the end of our search we visited Discount Mattress and were greeted by a helpful, friendly, but not pushy employee. He told us the details of the different beds when we wanted information and allowed us to try all the models and feel the differences without being overbearing or following us around the showroom floor.
After finding an online deal that made the Discount Mattress memory foam mattress more affordable for us, we came back to try it one more time and seal the deal. I had done some research earlier that day on memory foam mattresses and realized that the mattress we saw at Ashley’s furniture was made of memory foam of inferior quality. We decided to spend a bit more money at Discount Mattress and get a good quality memory foam mattress that would last us longer. With my newly discovered memory foam research in hand I quizzed the Discount Mattress employee about the unique characteristics and qualities of the memory foam mattresses we were looking at. He answered our questions and in a few cases admitted that he didn’t know detailed manufacturing information on a couple of the beds when I asked for it. I appreciated this honesty.
We told him we were ready to purchase, but that the price was still a bit too high based on our previously agreed to budget. He worked with us on the price and we agreed to something more amenable to both parties.
Overall, I had a great experience here largely due to the helpful and informed employees and good products. Two days later the mattress was delivered and we haven’t looked back since. Thanks to the Discount Mattress crew!

I would have written a review sooner, but I have been sound asleep in my new, comfortable bed…
What I needed was a quick solution to the problem of needing a new mattress in a hurry (and, with the name Discount Mattress, I assumed I could get something fast and cheap) But, what I discovered was absolutely amazing, friendly customer service and a superior product at a fraction of the price! I could not be happier with the service I received at this location or the wonderful nights of sleep I’ve enjoyed for the past couple of weeks!

Salesman was great, helpful, and really just made the whole process quick and painless. Couldn’t have been happier.

I had a WONDERFUL experience at this location. I originally saw a deal on Groupon and wanted to check the place out first, I was extremely impressed with Terry he was not pushy at all and was VERY helpful and attentive to my needs. Needless to say I bought a mattress set and mattress protector at an EXCELLENT price, everything was delivered that weekend and I am EXTREMELY happy. I DEFINITELY recommend this company to anyone looking to get a great quality mattress at an even better price!
