The only good thing about this place is the patio in back. Unfortunately, if you’re not a smoker, even that is a crap shoot. Poor service, weak beer menu, and full to the brim with high schoolers…

The manager is a jerk in a half. When he is not happy he throws a tantrum like a 4 year old. If you like to hang out with 16 year old’s this is the place. the food is the worst thing that happened to Edison Park. You can see how much the people that work there hate there job by there attitude. how could you blame them with the place full of children. Edison Park inn is way better. If you want real food go to Elliot’s! Killer steak! One of the best in my opinion, and its right next door. You also have Firewater great food there as well. God what a crap hole!

Jesus Christ, clean your bathrooms. This place is literally a pig sty filled with nothing but drunk sloppy pigs running around this poor excuse of a bar. Beer is also way too expensive for its own good.

This place is a dump! Reminded me of bars you see in small college towns; underage kids, terrible music, and horrible service. Not to mention management is pure hot steaming crap. They couldn’t be any ruder & I agree with the Unilocaler that mentioned this place seeming racist. Do yourself a favor and walk down to any other bar in the neighborhood(besides epi) cuz that place is another crap hole as well.

Where do I begin. I’ve been here before and sat at the bar to have some drinks… nothing special. Went here for the cubs playoff game. First thing you walk through the door and the bouncer just stares at you with a disgruntled look and says nothing. Not very friendly vibe to start the night. I understand they were slammed but there were some things that could have been handled better. Friend of mine ordered chips and salsa for an appatizer. 15 minutes later they questioned where the chips and salsa were… response, «sorry the kitchen is slammed.» It’s chips and salsa… you put chips in a basket and salsa in a bowl it requires no cooking. On top of that I ordered one of their wraps… I’ve been served better prepared food from a gas station. The tortilla came staright out of the freezer without even being warmed up with 3 pieces of frozen chicken and oversized cuts of lettuce thrown together with some BBQ sauce. I got sick. Not only did I get sick but so did my friends wife who had their chicken sandwich. Something tells me they don’t handle their chicken in a proper manner. Never coming here again.

Visited this place the Saturday prior to St. Paddy’s, it was jammed packed and there was a 3 dollar cover. Now normally i refuse to pay to then pay to drink but not much else around and didn’t feel like roaming around looking for a place to get a few drinks. Wife and i enjoyed a few rounds watch the locals act like fools but had a good time. The staff were awesome which was great, fast attentive did a good job trying to keep up with the messy drunks spilling and dropping bottles all over the place. Also a very mixed crowd, young, old, pretty much everything in between.

I went here for the first time on Friday night after the Edison Park fest. The beer deals were pretty decent– I think it ended up around $ 3-$ 3.50 per beer. The place was really packed but there still was a lot of room to move around. Pretty good atmostphere and music. The only thing I am docking them on is their bathrooms. Every single ladie’s room was out of toilet paper and the waitress ignored the pleas for more.

a group of 5 of us came on a Saturday around 10pm. It was pretty empty except for what appeared to be regulars at the bar. we ordered a round. my drink came & it tasted like plain soda water. i had 2 friends taste it & they agreed that there was little/no alcohol in it. i told our waitress & she kindly said she would take care of it. she returned … very apologetic… and said the bartender refused to add any vodka to it because it was properly poured. i said i no longer wanted it & please remove it from the bill. 5 minutes later she returned with the drink… she said the manager(or owner… or whoever) decided to add some vodka to the drink after all. I tasted it… it was now definitely a 1 shot cocktail. 5 minutes later a man walks up to our table and says. very gruffly … «is there a problem with your drink?» I felt like I had better say it was fine now… or risk getting punched. All of the females at my table said he was«scary». We finished our one round & left. to go ANYWHERE else but this place. what a bunch of jerks. no wonder it was empty. our waitress was very nice & apologized. I dont blame her for any of this. oh…and yes… they did charge me for the drink. Go to EPI… Morrettis…Firewater…Curragh… anywhere else. You will be treated like a human & feel welcome at those places. Too bad because the bar itself was pretty cool inside. We would have easily dropped a nice pile of money here… but we spent it elsewhere.

Not only were we the oldest people in the place, the bartenders tried to overcharge us by adding additional drinks to our tab. Sorry we aren’t young drunks and we know how many drinks we had now take them off. Makes you wonder how many others they’re ripping off on a regular basis. I will never go back.

This pub covers my three basic bar needs: — reasonably priced beer/booze, with an acceptable variety — a shit-ton of places to sit whether there are two or twelve of you — a jukebox(bar with generally good music is also an acceptable option) That being said, this is a «bro» bar on weekends, and the crowd is the kind that likes modern country or thought going to Lollapalooza was edgy. If that is you, GREAT! You will love this bar. I never consider myself a hipster until I go into bars like these. The vibe was 20’s-early 30’s, crowd sitting at the bar was a little more mixed. So aside from a sucky crowd, I had a good time with the company I was keeping(music aside), and my bartender was FANTASTIC. I went on a Saturday night. She remembered my drink order, was quick and thanked me for every tip. This bar gets an extra star just for her. I wish I would have gotten her name so I could call her out on here. Plus for Sports Fans: There are lots of tvs — so I think this would be a great spot to catch a game and day drink without blowing a paycheck.

What can I say… We were bar hopping via the train and this was a good stop-at least if I remember correctly!

Another Irish gem although this place doesn’t have the amount of background stuff the curragh bar has down the street. An ok bar not really much to say about it. Two parts on an old store front building the way bars should be.

For a 20 year old. Oops I mean 21– this place might be cool. But for someone nearing 30— not so much.

WTF is wrong with Edison Park bars? This place smells like smoke when you walk by it, but when you walk into it, it smells like vomit. These aholes tried to charge $ 10 cover for some shitty band and no table. Get some real décor, some tables and something else on special rather than a bucket of Bud Light bottles and maybe I’ll consider coming back.

I come here every year for St. Patty’s day to watch my friends uncle’s Irish band play. It was SUPER packed, tons of little kids running rampid and no drunk parent seemed to mind(obviously). I will say we came starving and we were disappointed to find out that the menu had been severely cut in half, basically only sandwiches and fries were available, not too healthy, especially when I really was set on the chicken caesar wrap and veggies. Ah well. Overall, the atmosphere was really nice just because we were there with friends and fam. Who could complain?!

Not too shabby, Emerald Isle. I went here at a friend’s request to see a 60’s cover band. I was warned by other friends who live in the area that Emerald Isle is an «old man’s bar.» I never really hung out in Edison Park before, and was pleasantly surprised at the large amount of entertainment options in the area. Emerald Isle was packed, and a large majority of the crowd was under 30. Who woulda thunk, eh? The place is pretty spacious, even while packed. Service was super friendly, although my only gripe was the kitchen had closed by 11. And drinks are pretty darn cheap, too.

Ladies, if you’re looking for a cute 20 something, you’ll probably find a few here. The men to women ratio is usually off the charts. As for the bar itself, it’s OK. I’m not crazy about the fact that if you don’t know one of the bartenders, you have to wait forever to get a drink. The beer garden is nice, and keeps you somewhat away from the horny dudes at the bar if you are not looking for that. I’ve never eaten here, as there are so many really great restaurants in Edison Park. This is a place to go AFTER dinner for a couple of drinks. This is a fun place to go with a group of your friends.

A friend’s birthday bash brought me here, as it’s quite the field trip from my E. Lakeview abode. I didn’t think much of this bar until I walked into the newly added beergarden out back. Spacious and beautifully landscaped with pots of overflowing flowers scattered throughout. Our group was able to take over the entire beergarden without any resistance on a Sat. night. I really loved this beergarden despite all the mosquitoes being out! On to the food. The cheddar burger was cooked to my liking, and the hash browns were a step above most. I should mention that most items on the menu are $ 6 or less! Everyone seemed happy with their selections. One caveat: A friend tried the cheese fries and this is where Emerald Isle greatly disappoints: the cheese sauce is not for consumption! My curiosity got to me and I tried it. I love most cheese and this funky foodstuff is just bad. Bartenders and servers are A-gamers and the Isle also offers a nice beer selection with $ 4 import draughts. On a sidenote– I don’t know how the people living in the apartments above the beergarden do it!
