I absolutely love Giordano’s. I would recommend ordering the pizza for delivery because it takes over an hour when you’re in the restaurant, and that time can be spent doing other stuff. The cheese is delicious, tomato sauce is sweet and amazing. The crust is buttery and flakey. I’m writing this on an empty stomach, I’m definitely going to order more pizza now!

I love this place. Their deep dish is now my favorite in the city and I’ve lived here for what seems like a century. I live in Andersonville where a Giordano’s just opened and I still order my pizza from the G’s on Montrose. It’s better and always consistent.

I ordered pizza last night online to be delivered from 7:45 — 8:00pm. Something got mixed up and my pizza arrived at 6:30pm. I called, mainly just to alert them that something was wrong. A manager, I believe his name was Nick, insisted on sending me another pizza at the time I had asked for. I said that wasn’t necessary, but he insisted that pizza is meant to be enjoyed hot and at 8pm I received another pizza. I was on the phone for less than 20 seconds waiting to speak to a manager, and not only was he totally understanding, but he clearly cares about his customers and the product they are delivering. I love pizza! I love Giordano’s!

After our last experience with this location, we will never order pizza from Giordano’s again. When we called to place the order, the woman was rude and unhelpful. When we arrived to get our pizza, it had the wrong toppings. Instead of trying to fix their mistake, they were rude and expected us to pay for it anyway. Needless to say, we walked out and got dinner somewhere else. Extremely disappointing.

We ordered a large«Chicago Style» pizza and they mistook the order and gave us a small. Realizing their mistake, they made us a large pizza and comped both pizzas. Their pizza is amazing and although they made a mistake, they definitely made up for it. I would highly recommend this place.

I’m turn with how to write this review because it is collectively two experiences getting take out from this location. First time I called the order in. It was a simple one, a single personal pizza with pepperoni. Walked up, picked it up, smelled the delish aroma of deep-dish pizza wafting to my nose, and couldn’t wait to get home to grub. It was as good as it gets. Hot, stuffed to the gills with pepperoni and cheese. This time, I picked up my pizza and it was mediocre. I felt like there wasn’t as much pepperoni and the pizza was just okay for some reason. I have friend’s from the east coast visiting in a few weeks and I’m debating whether to take them there. Could be hit or miss. But, given my first venture was A+ I’ll rate it somewhere in between and maybe try again.

This is my go-to for Chicago deep dish. It’s a little small to dine-in. It is BYOB and when I order for pick-up I’ve never had one issue, ever.

Came here a few years ago with friends and have finally gotten around to review this place. Being that I’m an East Coaster through and through, the concept of deep dish pizza was an unusual one. However, my #311 folks convinced me that this was an experience to be had. Trusting them blindly I went in knowing two things: I think I love pizza and how could deep dish go wrong? Well thankfully my two assumptions turned out to be very true. Not only did I love the cheese-y pepperoni conglomerate I had the pleasure of eating, I learned that deep dish can never go wrong when it’s… deep dish! The pizza came out pipping hot, sauce was overflowing, and the cheese was thickly and graciously spread throughout. The pepperoni was of medium spice and enhanced the experience of biting into my first slice a very flavorful one. I definitely was a fan! The serving was also so gigantic that we ended up taking several boxes home filled to the brim with several other variations of pizza. Oh yes. Just to show you how deeply entrenched this place is among my friends, two of them got married this past year and ordered Girodano’s as part of their wedding food. I guess you could say this is a staple that won’t be dissipating any time soon.

Giordano’s feeds not only the stomach, but the soul! Eating this pizza felt like what could be described as a religious experience. Life changing even. Thank you for setting the standard on what pizza should taste like! The cheese was melted to perfection and the combination of pepperoni and sausage mixed a tornado of taste in my mouth. I cannot wait for my next trip to Chicago.

Wish I could’ve given negative 5 stars. This place has ruined my experience with Giodano’s pizza, which I loved. On multiple occasions I placed an order for delivery and the delivery has always went past the estimated time by at least an hour. Last week I ordered delivery, large thin crust, wings and cannolis. After two hours of waiting which is typical, I asked for an update on the delivery. I was told that I ordered for pick up(which was a complete lie) even though I paid over the phone and I never do pick up. I waited another hour and instead of remaking the items that had been sitting around for hour(due to their fault) I received the crapiest food ever! The cannoli filling had melted, I was pissed! Tried to call and complaint but I was placed on hold for almost 20 minutes. I will never order from this dump again, you don’t treat paying customers like this! Before I would spend a minimum of 50 dollars every time I ordered, this place will never see a dime from me!

Lovely atmosphere, amazing food. Not much to complain about except the waiting time(which is directly proportionate to the deliciousness of the pizza) and the lack of waiters. Not enough to warrant the subtraction of a star however. Love this place.

Traditional style Chicago deep dish. The sausage is «almost» in every bite, love when the patty covers the entire pie. The sauce is tangy and is not overpowered with tomato chunks. Like most pizza for me, tastes best reheated with the cheese just starting to melt. Perfect to carry out from Chicago and drive back to reheat in Michigan!

I like Giordano’s, or at least I did. My previous experience was in the Loop, where the food was great and the service friendly. Apparently those same standards don’t carry across into the neighborhood locations. With an out of towner staying with me, I suggested visiting this location(after forgoing calling in since Unilocal is filled with horror stories about their delivery). It came as no surprise that at 7pm, this teeny tiny location was filled. That’s fine, it’s not like waiting is the end of the world. What would have been nice though — as any customer service representative should already know — is at least being acknowledged when you’re standing there for like, 10 minutes. Waitresses ignored our existence as well as the fast accumulating herd by the doors waiting for an estimate on time. In Giordano’s eyes, it didn’t seem we existed until we were sitting down to give them our money, but unfortunately we never were acknowledged after 10 minutes of not getting anyone’s attention. Despite being right there in the door since this place is micro-sized and there isn’t a waiting area. The cold shoulder left a bad taste in my mouth and zero appetite for ever visiting this chain again. Bad food can be subjective, but poor customer service is unforgivable when you’re already competing with a billion other deep dish joints. We found a different one and enjoyed our night elsewhere.

Switching to another deep dish. Giordano’s has always(and I’m a life-long Chicagoan) been my absolute favorite deep dish pizza, and I have lived near this location for 9 years so I’ve been ordering from here for quite a while. For our last three orders: two delivery and one pick-up, the service and the pizza have been terrible. For the pick-up, I was there before the pizza was ready and when they handed it over to me it wasn’t hot. HUH??? For the past two deliveries they have gone over the wait time, once by 20 minutes and once by an hour. An hour over the wait time that night = 2 ½ hours for pizza. Completely ridiculous, and very sad. I do not know if the location has switched owners or has just been employing managers who have not been able to keep up with demand, but either way this place is not the location to order the famous deep dish from.

Do not order for delivery. It might be a different experience dining in, or at least I hope it is. But delivery? Food We ordered a salad which was fine. A s’more pizza which was cold and had to be reheated in my oven… and a deep dish pizza. After waiting an extra long time for slow delivery service, we received a lackluster pizza. A Deep dish w/a steamed dry chewy crust, luke warm ingredients, including cheese that had stiffened up, and tomato sauce all over the box. See pics. Delivery We ordered online and our our quote was 1:15min on an expectedly busy Saturday night. However our actual delivery time was 2hr 30 min. Yes 2 hours and 30 min. Double the quoted time. Customer service We called twice to get a status. Once at the 1.5 hour mark and again at the 2hr mark. At 1.5 hours the driver was about to head out for deliveries. At the 2hr mark the driver was already out delivering. However what might been even more insulting & unprofessional is their lack of communication and apparent lack of respect for the consumer. We were not told at the 1.5 hr mark(which again was already past our delivery time) that it would be another hour. If so we would’ve cancelled there and made other plans. Instead we were strung along for a slow ride. The staff was ‘sorry’ for the wait, they claimed to be busy and understaffed but that was it. Not once did they attempt to call us to warn us that the delivery was going to blow past the quoted time. A call right as soon as we ordered, would have been appreciated. We would have assuredly cancelled our order and taken our business and hunger elsewhere. I guess they just expect you to sit and wait like a damn fool for as long as you have to? I’m not sure why as the manager of a restaurant you would think a 2−3hr delivery window is acceptable? Never again Giordano’s. There are so many other caring local businesses that will appreciate and respect my time, money and food. If a chicago pizza chain is what I desire, I hear a Lou malnatis is opening up this spring in north center.

I wish I was writing a more positive review because I actually love Giordano’s deep dish. However, this review is based on the experience today from my girlfriend(I wasn’t with her during the order and experience). Just as an FYI, there wasn’t anyone else in the restaurant at the time. She went into the Lincoln Square location and placed an order for an italian beef and fries. After waiting for a while, she asked how much longer they estimate for the order to be ready and the(only)guy working there was eating fries cooked for our order! I’m guessing they were just out of the fryer and there were plenty, but still… So basically she asked how much longer, the guy turned and put some more fries in his mouth and then told her(with a full mouth) that it shouldn’t be much longer. This isn’t only incredibly rude. it’s just plain nasty. I’ve had good experiences in the past so this is very disappointing. and disgusting. To summarize, the food itself seemed fine, the service was terrible/rude/gross.

While I’ve never had a sit down meal at this or any other location, my Husband and I order for delivery from this particular location all the time. Our favorites? Bar none, the deep-dish/stuffed spinach pizza, the chicken wings with garlic & lemon, and their salads — YES — this place makes GREAT salads! Delivery can get backed up, so plan accordingly — but no matter what, our food always arrives piping hot and delicious.

While I’ve been told hat this is technically not deep dish by some people, I don’t care and would classify this as my favorite«deep dish» pizza even over Malnati’s! It must be the crust. I love the thin crust too. When arriving at this location, out of convenient distance from my house, I felt that the service was decent. It was a busy Saturday and it took a while but the seating is limited. The bonus is that there is a free parking lot along with loads of street parking and right by the damen bus stop. I took my friend from out of town here to also experience the BYOB trend that many Chicago restaurants participate in. We ordered a Chicago deep dish and a thin crust Hawaiian. For 2 people, we ordered the smalls of each and had plenty of leftovers. If you come here on a weekend, just be prepared to wait quite a while.

I used to like them, but what the heck happened to them? Looking back at this one, my experiences have been disappointing enough with this one where I’m hesitant to want to order here again. It’s sad, since years ago I really enjoyed their thin crust pizzas, and their deep dish seemed better as well. Of course, it doesn’t help this location, that I recall better tasting pizza from their now closed location on Lawrence west of Damen, vs. this newer location. I’ll note too that all my experiences at the Montrose location were of ordering pizza for take out, no clue what the dine-in experience is like. You’d probably be best to just skip eating here, and going to Chicago’s Pizza 11⁄2 blocks east of here. It’s sad to think Chicago’s is a lot more satisfying and that I don’t have to worry about inconsistent experiences there, vs. Giordano’s.
