Decent deep dish pizza at a good price. Pick up was a breeze. Seemed like the baking instructions were a little off, we had to leave it in 5 minutes more than stated, but no big deal — maybe my oven is off. Extra bonus, this was a fundraiser for my kid’s school, and $ 5 of the price of the pizza went to the school. Can’t beat that!

I came here to try their gluten-free pizza crust on the recommendation of a non-gluten-free friend, who happened to try it and said it was one of the better GF crusts she’s had. It is not that good. It’s not terrible. But there are better places in the area to get a GF pizza. Sometimes when I order GF items from a restaurant, I worry about the kitchen making mistakes, or the person not hearing my order correctly. There was no doubting that this was gluten-free. The crust curled up and then split down the middle while cooking. It was dry and tasted like thick paper. They get two stars because the fresh toppings were nice and the service was good. Having it in the area is nice for gluten-free pizza emergencies, but I probably wouldn’t go back voluntarily.

I enjoy Homemade pizza and have normally gotten good service in past. Today I order a simple cutie pizza and when I ask for ½ of it to be sausage I get attitude. Like you want ½ sausage on a personal pizza! Yes, rude girl on the end of the phone. I realize it is a small pizza and not everyone wants to gorge themselves with the biggest pizza possible, but would it be that difficult to do? Then when I got its gonna be like 45 minutes and then before I hung was told over an hour I figured lets try the Roscoe Village location. Needless to say canceled order in Ravenswood and thank you RV location for making my pizza the way I like it without judgement! Will continue to visit RV location.

I was surprised how much I liked this place. I wasn’t expecting much, but it’s actually one of my favorite pizza places now. Here are a few of the things that make it good. — The dough is really fresh and soft, unlike a frozen pizza, so when you bake it in the oven, it’s really really good. — I can walk all the way home with a pizza and not worry about it getting cold before I get there, especially in the freezing cold of winter. — The price is pretty decent, considering all of the ingredients are fresh. — The balance of cheese, sauce, dough, and toppings is perfect in my opinion. — It tastes good! It reminds me of the pizza place I used to work at, and so that helps me like it even more.

Really like the fresh taste of all the regular pizzas I have eaten here. Last time out we tried a deep dish with sausage and mushroom. Liked it a lot. Will be ordering this often. Staff was very accommodating as I forgot to order a salad over the phone and they made me one Lickety split. Pear and blue cheese salad was delicious and a bargain at 4.95 for a two serving dinner salad size.

So to be fair, my previous negative reviews may have been impacted by some early growing pains at this location but a couple of years later, HomeMade seems to have fixed their service issues around ordering. I recently have not run into any problems — but just to be safe I’ve stuck with phoning my orders in instead of ordering on-line. So why the change of heart? The gluten-free pizza crust! So. GOOD. Having to go gluten-free, I will admit that I have struggled most with not being able to indulge in some fabulous, thin crust pizza. Almost every gluten-free pizza I have tried so far has tasted like soggy cardboard. While I was skeptical about going back to HomeMade, I was already anticipating yet another soggy crust but felt that being able to cook it myself, I’d be able to at least get it a bit crispier. Let me just say that my husband and I initially thought that I may have not gotten a gluten-free crust pizza because it tasted SO good. I seriously ran back and checked my receipt, checked the label, nope gluten-free. I anticipated horrible immediate symptoms after having indulged in gluten and nothing. It really is possible to have tasty, crispy delicious gluten-free pizza! Seriously, I almost cried. If you have to go gluten-free, don’t think twice about ordering from here safely. I’m very sensitive to it and had no ill effects at all. For now, the gluten-free crust is only available in a size medium — perfect for 2 people — or for leftovers for one. By far the best cheese gluten-free pizza I’ve had. Seriously, this place may keep me sane! Now I just have to resist the urge to order it every week…

Gosh, there are a lot of stupid people out there. Yes, the concept is take-and-bake pizza… with high-quality, fresh ingredients. Yes, you have to cook it yourself. Hence«take-and-bake.» Yes, high-quality ingredients cost more than those at, say, Papa John’s. The reviews all read like these people were duped into buying Homemade Pizza and had no idea it wouldn’t be cooked when they picked it up. It’s unfortunate that the educational system has clearly failed these poor souls. The pizza’s good — not great, but good. The people who work there are awesome — they’ll accommodate just about any reasonable pizza-related request. The fresh ingredients are appreciated. If you can’t understand how it works, you probably shouldn’t be ordering pizza… or allowed to use a phone or the internet.

I honestly do not think the pizza is that tasty. I agree with others it is ridiculously over priced for a take home and heat it yourself pizza. I get it that they have«fresh» ingredients; however, I would rather pick up a tasty and fresh pizza from Whole Foods.

Fresh ingredients. Awesome, and I mean awesome, salads. Pizza is good, non greasy and freezes well. Got a salad and a large za with a few ingredients the other day. It was about the same(maybe a few bucks more) then delivery pizza, but much better and now I have a few slices in the freezer. I dig this place.

People seem to be bashing Lincoln Square’s Homemade Pizza Co. left and right! I just can’t seem to find a good reason why…(maybe just the semi-high pizza prices?) I ordered from here two times in the last week, which is abnormal for this foodie. Yes, I am one of the few who steers away from the Chicago-style pizza yet still consider myself a Chicagoan.(Are you going to chastise me for putting ketchup on my hotdog too? Wow, feisty!) Well since Unilocal is all about Real Reviews, Real People, which includes honesty, I will be straight forward: This pizza is damn good! Here’s why: –All the ingredients are super-duper fresh. Take that Pizza Hut and Dominoes! I promise you you can taste the difference! –As someone who always suffers from heartburn, I love that they sell«white» pizzas with no tomato sauce base, just olive oil. After all, shouldn’t a good pizza be delicious with the bare minimum? For my Celiac friends, they have gluten-free crust too. –Their online ordering system is simple. –Of course you can personalize your pizza, but that’s too much work for me. I like their creative combinations like the Miesian(basically a Margherita but with a name bearing our famous Chicago architect, Mies van der Rohe), Fresh Herb, BBQ Chicken, and Quattro Stagioni(perfect option for those who like a little bit of everything but not on the same slice). –Their plastic bags hold the pizzas perfectly flat during transport. –Their Loyalty program has perks like buy 10 pizzas or salads, get one free. –They’re «green» by delivering by bike versus car. –Since I use my own oven at home, I can bake it to my liking. –And the cherry[tomato] on top: After placing my Bears-Packer game order, I received an email an hour later from the manager thanking me for my continued business with a $ 4 voucher to use on my next order. During my next visit I hope to purchase their large chocolate chip cookie(and a pint of ice cream to top it with is a must too). I’m disappointed in myself for passing HPC by so many times. It is a new day!

I had a hard time accepting this concept, I must admit. It’s a weird sort of combination of delivery pizza with frozen pizza… but, the pizza that I’ve had(and I have only had one type of pizza because I like it so much and haven’t been able to branch out) was really outstanding. It’s the herb pizza, and its full of fresh herbs and has a really great crust and flavor. I love this pizza! It’s kind of expensive for pizza that you have to cook at home, yes. But, it’s just as good as most pizzas that I’ve ever had from a pizzeria, and if you cook it according to their instructions, comes out fresh and delicious from your own oven! I probably won’t make this a regular occurrence, but it’s a nice treat once in a while. Staff has always been friendly and had my pizza ready for pick up right on time!

This place is great. Fresh ingredients like nitrate free pepperoni and whole wheat crust? yes please! You can order online and pick it up at a specified time which is great for weeknights when you just don’t feel like cooking and want to pick up a pizza on the way home. The staff is friendly and super nice and overall I highly recommend. I usually don’t write reviews but wanted to after reading the ones who said they couldn’t understand the concept and could make a pizza at home or order one. The Homemade Pizza Company is not saying you can’t make a pizza at home, but this eliminates going to the store and buying everything yourself. If you order a cooked pizza from a delivery place, it can be cold or greasy by the time it gets delivered. Popping a ready made pizza into the over makes sure you have a hot and delicious pizza in about ten minutes. The parchment paper makes it cook up nice and crispy every time.

It is unthinkable that«in this economy,» Homemade Pizza Company is thriving and opening up new locations like this one when legitimate and good restaurants are going out of business. It’s a completely indefensible business model — pizza that’s you have to cook yourself that’s more expensive than a real pizza from a real pizza restaurant. I mean, there is literally not one occasion on which buying a pizza that you have to cook yourself is preferable to just buying a real, hot pizza — or really a defensible option in ANY manner, ESPECIALLY given that it’s MOREEXPENSIVE! I don’t understand the point of this place — the whole point of eating pizza is that it’s fast, and someone else cooks it for you. If I wanted to cook my own pizza I would MAKEITATHOME from scratch. Hello? And why are these pizzas $ 18 if you have to cook it yourself??? We lost Jack Rabbit for this? Forget this place. Stick with Apart on Montrose or Pizza Art Café on Rockwell, or even Chicago Pizza. And while we’re at it, why is Lincoln Square suddenly being inundated by horrific chains? First this place, and now an American Flatbread? Where am I, a mall? What moron at the business licensing office decided to let TWO chain pizza places open within yards of one another? Does not compute.

Stop the insanity!!! I just don’t get this concept. I order a pizza and then I get to pick it up, bring it home and cook it. OK, must be a pretty good and cheap pizza for me to do that right? WRONG! Not only is the price an incredible ripoff considering you can get excellent frozen pizza for about $ 6-$ 7, keep it in your freezer and take the exact same amount of time to cook it, but it is NOT good. I will probably try another one more out of curiosity than anything else. I have to understand how a concept that I find so dumb could possibly be so successful. I tried the caramelized onion and sausage pizza with wheat crust. The onion was too sweet, there was almost no sauce, the pizza lacked flavor and the worst part was the crust. It was simply not good. My wife also thought it was not good. So, if you feel like paying $ 18 for a bad tasting pizza that you have to pick up and cook yourself, this is your place! I am not a big pizza eater, but I think I will stick with the ultra thin frozen Home Run Inn for those times that I feel like being a little naughty. I would suggest you save yourself the money and effort and do the same. Sorry Homemade Pizza, underwhelmed and slightly insulted by your prices.
