Meh describes it pretty well. I’ve had mostly good experiences at this store, but today’s wasn’t one of them. I went to this one because they have a parking lot… and I had my car running some errands. I also remembered I was out of preworkout, so I needed to make a stop. The guy working asked what I came in for, I told him… and he tells me it isn’t a good product and is too expensive, but that I should buy this other one that is less expensive and is a GNC brand product. He was persistent that I should try their product instead of the one that I went there for. I told him that I’d buy what I came in for, or I’d go somewhere else and get it. Not a good selling process. I used to be a sales trainer, and it drives me nuts when sales people ignore what their customer is saying. I was planning on trying some additional products today, but I opted to get the stuff that I was out of and get out of there. Other times at this store, it has been good. I’m a fairly educated consumer, so when I shop, the main question that I ask is the location of a specific product. I can be persuaded by some add on sales occasionally, but the main products I use, I buy for specific reasons. Some of the other employees are pretty good. I’m an easy enough customer, I know what I want, and if you have it-I will spend my money, and often in stock up size/quantities. Very minimal brain power needed. However, the pushy side of things drives me out.

I just dropped by to see what vitamins I could buy. I bought a huge bottle of Fenugreek for $ 16! I had been buying a bottle half the size and double the cost from somewhere else. I was very pleased. The worker was very nice and helpful and gave me a lot of free samples! I will go back to this GNC for sure!

What a horrible horrible experience!!! Although I like some of the company’s products, I question the integrity of the entire GNC brand after my visit to the 3336 N Western Ave. Chicago GNC location this evening. I attempted to return an item purchased at another Chicago GNC location a few days ago and the owner told me I couldn’t because he didn’t carry it. When I walked to over to the shelf where the item was visibly located and said«well, it’s right here» I was then told(in a very rude manner) that I had to return it at the location where I bought it(it was a ‘corporate thing’ and he was just a franchisee). I can’t remember the last time I’ve been treated so rudely at a retail store, but I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. GNC clearly states on their website and on the back of their receipts 1) bring an item back within 30 days if you aren’t satisfied with it and 2) bring it back to any store. I can forgive lack of knowledge and unhelpfulness from a retail store(we’re all human); but dishonesty, rudeness, and manipulation are on a whole other level. Beware people… I sure wouldn’t trust my health to this GNC store.

I had the worst experience today at this store. The people were unhelpful and rude. They did not know what they were talking about and plus their prices for products were ridculous! They had talked to me with an attitude and didn’t seem to care for my business. I would not recommend anyone to shop or even stop by this store. STAYAWAY,
