Typical neighborhood corner convenience store. I frequent htis place for lottery tickets and cans of soda and chips. They do have a phone card store also. The only ossue I have is on occassion the clerks could exercise better personal heigene, it smells sometime as if the guys need to roll down the deoderant isle themselves.

My favorite neighborhood corner store in Egdewater! When I need a snack or a ice cream treat, I stop into the Green Arch Food Mart. service is also good and friendly. They are also open late, which is great. I try to also support them vs Walgreen’s up the street. Small business need support! Lastly, I love that they do not have a minimum on the debit/credit card use.

I like coming to my neighborhood corner store and they know my name when I first walk in. Things do seem like they sit there for a while, but I know to always check the expiration dates! I always come here for my drinks and ahem… daily snacks. :)

Four stars because the men who work here are eye candy. This is where I go when I realize that I am going to need change for the EL, so I buy a pack of gum or a lighter. They have lots of things, like phones and milk and canned things, and detergent. They seem to have a very regular clientelle who go there to buy tobacco. Especially strapping young thuggish men who buy flavoured cigarillos. The kind that would walk past you on the street, and you think to yourself«gee, I hope he doesn’t push me behind a dumpster and touch my bathing suit areas». Only they never do. *sigh* The guys who work there are very friendly. They are always giving people directions, and I’ve seen them greet people by name. I really like that in a neighborhood store. Plus, its so close to my house — I never have to worry about change for the train. The bad: they open early — but not before 7 am. They are missing a huge commuter group who board the train before then. And the train is literally a stones throw from this shop. I suggest you patronize this place, and if so inclined, ogle the help.

This place confuses me… if you need phone cards, minutes, used cell phones or vitamin supplements this is the store for you. their 2 liters are dusty. 80% of the frozen food section is empty. most of the food on shelves is also dusty and the one time I picked up some canned goods they were past their expiration date. which I never really encountered before, canned food expiring from a retail place… also, the cigarette prices are 1.50−2.50 a pack higher than walgreens, I am all for supporting local/small business, but the Hollywood Pantry(nearby), who(when I was smoking a few months ago still) sold cigarettes for maybe .35-.50 cents more than walgreens… that is a lot more realistic. also, they try to pull that minimum purchase crap when you use a credit card… I have an issue w/that, especially when my purchase was 9.20something. I really don’t have a reason to go here and find it amazing anyone in this ‘hood does so either. there are too many higher quality corner stores, with better prices and also Walgreens… it shocks me too as the rent has to be high on a corner like that. Scratch that, I bet they stay in business because if you walk west from the el or any of the sheridan/express buses this is the side of the street you would be on and therefore, by laziness people pop in and buy little things.
