This place is underrated. As far as margaritas go, why do people wait in line to drink at BigStar when they can get equally awesome margaritas here? Their drinks are STIFF!!! Most of the tacos are solid, particularly the brisket. The Sloppy Jose burrito-a sloppy Joe in a burrito– is AWESOME! The drinks are stiff and the staff is cool. Geeks Who Drink Trivia is always great on Wednesdays. This is also my go-to spot for $ 8 Old Fashioneds and Manhattans on Wednesdays. Every day of the week this place has something for an incredible value(Maybe TOO incredible sometimes???). My only complaint is sometimes I just want to chill and have a drink and some food and conversation and not have to be distracted by 20 televisions. Unilocalers are garbage people! Take care! –Mitch Cumstein

Only good thing about this place are the nachos and the cocktails but I can get those anywhere. Our waitress was very unfriendly and looked like she didn’t want to be there at all. I will not be coming here ever again. Waste of money and time.

I liked it. They’ve got good margaritas, tasty gringo tacos, and nice windows for enjoying the sun and energy of Milwaukee Ave. Kind of a bland, sports bar feel inside. It’s nothing I’d go out of my way for, but it’s a suitable neighborhood stop.

My group of 4 had to wait 25 minutes before getting served. We said hello to a server who was walking past at the 15 minute mark and she said hello back and kept doing whatever she was doing, she was not friendly. We eventually walked up to the bar and ordered our drinks and said to put them on a tab at our table. So in reality a server didn’t come to us until after 25 minutes, but at least we got some drinks. When we did get a server she was great, the type who knows how to make people happy and get a good tip. Marg’s were good and tasty and the specials were good for a Friday night. Our party had a nice time but would suggest mgmt doesn’t let people wait 25 minutes for service so easily…

Good drinks and food, though service can be hit or miss. Last time my friend and I were there the waitress was a bit rude and had a too cool for school attitude. Asked her if she preferred the red or white sangria, and she made an «ew, and I’m judging you» face for even considering the sangria. Way to sell your drinks, lady. My friend and I started complaining between each other about wtf her deal was. She must have overheard us, as after that she was sweet as can be. Nice option on Milwaukee if you’d like some guac, tacos and margs.

The one waitress that works there was so rude and condescending to our table. i dont know her name, she had a tattoos and septum piercing. We’ve all worked/still work in the serving business so there is really no need to treat anyone like that… she’s just another angry hipster that should probably find a new job.

Great place. The waiter and waitresses are very friendly! Food is ok. I’ll certainly go to High Noon for drinks again next time I’m in Chitown.

Foods not that bad, I order the Brisket taco, should of done al pastor, always a good go too. Service was awful though. We were seated right away and brought menus. Waitress came back fairly quick to take our drink order, but then we waited prob 20 min for our drinks and to put in our food order. Food came out rather quickly, but then no one checked in on us after we got our food, which is a typically practice in restaurants and something I notice after working in food service. Then after we had finished eating another 20 or so min just to get the waitress attention to get our check. Which took forever to bring and then forever to take again. Another thing that was just like annoying was we order guac, and that came out and the guy who brought that out was like«Let me go get you guys napkins» but then never came back… k thanks. There was only 2 waitresses I believe and IDK it kind of seemed like a free for all for who was covering what sections because both of them took different orders from us. Big star is better and has better services, or I’d prob walk down to antique taco or go to xoco before coming here for tacos. Up side never seen any wait time here soo thats a positive.

Favorite bar in wicker park! Really digging the Therapy show, where bartenders and servers go up and tell crazy work stories. Never seen anything like that before. Great service, great time! They also make a mean cocktail and the tacos are legit.

Do you know how hard it is to find«chips and queso» on a menu in chicago instead of «queso fundido»? Difficult. Really difficult. If I wanted melted velveeta with no flavor added, I’d buy it from the store and put it on my own crock pot. The most ridiculous thing is that they charge you $ 8 for something that they don’t really have to make(besides maybe cutting up a few veggies). Rice and beans — I’m convinced these were store bought, dumped straight from a can and onto a hot plate. The beans were a grey-ish color. Just sad all around. Tacos, no flavor. Quesadilla, barely any cheese. The only thing that seemed edible were the jalapeño poppers — but again — how hard is it to stuff some peppers with cream cheese, wrap it in bacon and grill it. It’s like whoever created this menu previously burned all of their taste buds off and can’t tell what’s going on with their food. You don’t need a menu renovation, but a serious taste bud test. I’m seriously wondering if anyone that works there has ever been to Texas, or a legitimate Tex-Mex restaurant.

Went here a month ago and a great experience! The staff was friendly, the drinks were on point, and the steak sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. I’ve already been back twice since my first visit and my experience has been consistently great! The managers jokes were a little corny but all in all A+ experience!

Moving from Texas I was extremely excited when I saw that they had Chips and Queso. It was just … ok. I got the Chicken Quesadillas and they were pretty bad. Everyone at the table barely touched their food. This is DEFINITELY not Tex-Mex. The service was also terrible. Our waitress was great, but everyone else seemed to be annoyed that their only customer asked for salt and pepper. Ah, so much for the excitement of a «tex-mex» joint…

Came here with Google employees. Our waitress charged us more beers than we paid for. She said she could go back and refer to her«system» that accurately charged us. Well, mistake was on her, several mistakes. We got a manager and he said he would refer back to the«system» which is not so accurate. So, if someone next to you didn’t pay for their tab, be prepared to pay for their’s if they sat next to you. He obviously didn’t care about regulars coming back to spend money at their establishment. What a loss for the company. Don’t come here unless you want to get charged for several beers you never ordered.

Wow. Very disappointing all around. The dips for the chips were bizarre, some green purée and maybe spiced ketchup for as «salsa»? The chicken fajitas had almost no chicken in them and the drinks were mediocre. Add to that disinterested/unfriendly server and bartender and it’s just not a place I would ever return or recommend. With so many good options for texmex or mexican in this city this place will no doubt be closed soon.

Came here on a Tuesday night with my family before leaving Chicago. I’m a sucker for a taco Tuesday special. My family suggested high noon because they have relatively quick dinner options. There weren’t that many people inside during the time that I went which was about 7pm. We started with a couple of margaritas since their was a special on them. I ordered the peach margarita and my family got the classic margarita. Both were really good, also on Tuesday they offer $ 2 tequila shots. To eat, we had chips and salsa, guacamole for an appetizer. We tried all of their types of tacos overall, but the steak and fish were my favorites. There was plenty of meat in them. . While your waiting for your food they also have board games to play. When I go back to Chicago to visit I definitely will be going back to get more tacos!

Went back here w/2 others on a Saturday to catch the Blackhawks game. This time, I got: –Not Your Father’s Root Beer: if you love root beer, YOUMUSTGETTHIS. It tastes good, packs a punch(10% ABV!) and tastes exactly like root beer — you can’t even tell there’s alcohol in it! –Bacon wrapped cream cheese-stuffed jalapenos: These were good. It was a new item on the menu so we decided to give it a shot. It also comes with some salsa and some sort of avocado sauce that was pretty good, too. Plus, bacon makes everything better. –Tacos: this time I ordered the fish taco, chicken taco, and the mushroom taco. Again, all the tacos were very good. The fish was perfectly crispy, the chicken was succulent, and the mushroom taco was amazing — it was definitely my favorite by far. –Pork tamale: the tamale was good, again. I just wish there was more pork! One thing in particular I’d like to point out is how great the customer service is. We were caught up in traffic and got there right when the game started, so we were left standing by the bar. The owner and waiter noticed this and offered to bring up a table for us so we could sit. This was highly appreciated and speaks to the customer service at High Noon Saloon. Thank you again! Definitely come here if you want good food and great customer service!

Came here on a whim looking for a relatively quick dinner on a Thursday night. There were no tables available so the two of us just hopped up on the last two seats at the bar towards the back. We started with a couple of margaritas – the mango and the jalapeño. Both were tasty but a little on the small/weak side. If you’re gonna have a margarita, HAVE a margarita… we switched to Founder’s brews after that, as they were being featured on that night. Eventually I also had a glass of red sangria which was fine. To eat, we had chips and salsa for an appetizer. They skimp on the salsa – two tiny tiny cups(we’re talking salad dressing sized), one red and one green. They give plenty of chips though… The salsa to chip ratio is definitely off. We tried 4 types of tacos overall, but the brisket and al pastor were my favorites. There was plenty of meat in there and I ended up making two tacos with each since they came with two corn tortillas. Tacos were just as good as the more popular chicago taco spots like Big Star and Taco Joint. We enjoyed watching some chicago sports and playing jenga at the bar while we let our food digest. We will probably be back!

The décor is on point following a modern western theme with their wooden beamed ceiling, lace and tasseled lamp shades, sparkly chandeliers, silver beer mugged lining the back of the bar and big screen tvs everywhere you look. The background music was upbeat and of course western. Tables seated 2 – 4 people, so not ideal for really large groups. Plenty of single seats along the bar though. The large front windows open up so a few tables could get some sun and fresh air like those in the outdoor patio. Seating in the back near the bar wasn’t so pleasant b/c we had a clear view of the cooks and the feel of intense heat from the kitchen. We left with a sweat and a scent of very aromatic foods on our clothes. Service was awesome. Even with a packed house, the friendly waitresses came back to check on us several times. Food came out quick. Bus boys cleared out tables right after the last bite. We ordered 3 tacos: el pastor, smoked brisket and fish. El pastor and fish lacked flavor, but the smoked brisket was delish. The smoked flavor was not overpowering that you could still taste juicy, tender brisket. We’ll have to go back to try their other dishes.

Getting a tattoo nearby and this was recommended. Not busy when we went. Ordered a variety of dishes. All were pretty solid. I’ve posted a few photos. Service was alright. Nice place with seasonal outdoor seating. Lots of places to eat around here, great places… this one should be able to hold it’s own.

Heartache soothed by tacos. I came to back to High Noon for game 7 of the qualifying Stanley finals for the Hawks. Now, Mr. K and I are VERY superstitious. He grows out the playoff beard and we wear/do the same things, go to the places where the Hawks have won previously. Because of this, we chose HK for this extremely important game. It was Sunday, so no fireball shots were downed and looking back, I think it was possibly the 1 unlucky thing I did :(. We ordered $ 4 tecate tall boy cans, asparagus and fish tacos for me, al pastor and fish tacos for him and we split the veg tamal. Being into a healthy lifestyle, hubby hates when I cook asparagus(he’s like a 5 y/o) but I could easily get him to eat these on a reg basis. These asparagus tacos were honestly the best vegetarian tacos I’ve ever had. Kudos to you, HK. Because this game was so intense, it really wasn’t the party vibe at HK like it has been previously. I even stood most of the game, another good luck thing I do. The server came around at every perfect time, never interrupting the plays and was really pleasant. She even split the check amongst our group without us having to tell her. You already know how it ended :’(, but High Noon was really the perfect place to soothe the pain that came with the loss. Hawks will get the cup next year and we’ll be back, for good luck!
