Closed by the city for the umpteenth time as of today, June 212016. Obviously who’s ever attempting to run this place has no grasp on how to maintain a sanitary environment. Oh wait… two hours later and it’s open again. Hmm.

Not like Ashland at all. Everything you like about the original you will not get here. They don’t even open if they don’t feel like it. Tuesday at noon? I guess they have better to do. Food was gross and I didn’t even want to get into it with the cashier when the total didn’t line up with the price(just shook my head and tried to justify it as 22% city tax.) Worst of all: they were watching a bootleg copy of Revenance a week after it premiered in theatres… I’m sure some people think that’s cool, but why would you spoil movies — it’s not like I’m going to sit in the place for 3 hours to finish it.

The best part of this place is how warm it is in this restaurant, they give complimentary chips and the carne asada burrito was really good! Unfortunately I didn’t like the chorizo taco for it was abit too salty for me but I did like the spice kick to it!

Chips were EXTREMELY salty. The tacos were okay. Not the best compared to the original restaurant.

well I recommended this joint for my husband and son to go and get some tacos. I was so upset to hear my husband tell me how rude the chick was at the front desk. She was slamming the cashier drawers in front of a customer who asked questions and didn’t want onions, guess it annoyed the cashier but my son witnessed that and told me how uncomfortable to see this lady truly not liking the fact that she is there displaying that type of aggression. Hubs tried to pay with his credit card and she is shaking her head«no, we aren’t taking credit, cash only… ATMRIGHTTHERE» as she is pointing to the ATM machine. The food was good and I am happy they are home to enjoy the food. Just sad and disappointed to hear the service was rude and makes customers feel uncomfortable just for asking questions on the order. I am glad I wasn’t there as the other locations aren’t like that.

This place has the best carne Asada(steak) in the world! The service is usually good too! I usually indulge in their steak torta and their horchata isn’t half bad either. They don’t serve complementary salsa and chips when you dine in and they only serve traditional style tacos(cilantro and onions), cheese and sour cream is extra! The service makes up for that though so I’m not mad. Try it out, I’m sure you’ll like it.

Good tacos, still I prefer Las Asadas hit this one are really close. The carne asada tacos is their best card in the menu in my opinion. Foe me, Carne Asada it have to be in the grill not in the griddle like most of the taquerias do their tacos.

Maybe I was lucky, but I ordered 2 carne asada tacos with cheese and sour cream(which is charged extra), and it was delicious. Definitely a dive, but great for a quick lunch/dinner. Usually the best food comes from dives like this. The place in general doesn’t look the cleanest though, so just a heads up. I don’t know if I’ll try anything else. Maybe a burrito. Since I work around that area temporarily, I will probably come back again.

The chicken was fatty and the breast it came from was not cleaned up. The taco was soggy. Just a let down. Ordered chips and guac on the side and they forgot to put it in my bag. Too bad, but I won’t be going back.

I just ordered 3 steak tacos with everything sour cream, cheese, & tomatoes which they charged me extra 4 everything so 3 tacos for 12.74 I get home & there is only onion & cilantro on my tacos, I just tried calling them back their phone is disconnected, I guess biz is bad if they can’t pay their phone bill, also I witnessed the cook in the back drinking a beer he was prob drunk that’s why he forgot the extras last time in there rip off tacos

I just ate the most bizarre and un-enjoyable burrito of my life. I thought this was going to be like the Ashland locations, but I was sorely mistaken. I ordered a carne asada burrito. At first I thought it seemed a little pricey epically considering that the place looked pretty shabby inside, but i thought, «Hey, don’t judge a book by it’s cover…» They asked if I’d like onions and cilantro to which I replied, «sure.» When I got home I initially thought that my burrito was just poorly constructed because all I was tasting was some of the most chewy beef, onions, and cilantro. After several identical bites I decided to investigate and open it up. To my surprise there were three ingredients; «steak», onions, and cilantro. If the«steak» hadn’t been such a jaw challenge I would have been happy. Instead, my mouth is tired and unhappy.

What the hell has happened to this place? Have been a customer of the original location for almost twenty years, was happy as hell when they opened this«express» location two blocks from me several years ago. When they first opened it was great. They were closed for a while and then re-opened. Every aspect of the place has gone steadily downhill. Most regrettably the food. Started being hit or miss and now is just inexplicably bad and the people working there have an overwhelming sense of complete apathy. Went there three days ago and when I ordered the nachos(they call them chachos) the cashier said«we’re out of guacamole.» Okay, no big deal, you’re a Mexican joint and you’ve run out of avocados — stranger things have happened. I ordered three carne asada tacos instead. Got home and could not believe how bad the meat tasted. You could tell it had been cooked hours earlier, chopped up and kept in a container only to be reheated. Actually tasted sour. I threw it away. Today had a friend in town so I ordered some stuff, «chachos» included. Ran in, picked it up. Got home and guess what, no guacamole on the chachos. And yes of course I was never told that they were once again out of avocados. The truth most likely is that they just never got more avocados and«you know what gringo, we don’t give a shit that you’re paying for something you’re not going to get.» When you consider that their prices are now ridiculous, that they have no qualms about serving old meat and they are just fine with blatantly ripping you off, you should never ever give them your business and your money.

They are still in business. This location was closed at one point. I’ve eaten there twice, recently, both times the Carne aside has been chewy and tough. Tasty? Yes. Not enjoyable to chew.

They are open and have the Best Tacos in Town! I like the Steak Tacis and Chicken Tacos. But they have quite a variety. Even Rib Eye Tacos And Lengua(Beef Tongue) Burritos are Great too!!!

If I could give them zero stars I would first off I must tell you that the meat was horrible tasting had no flavor. Then I must tell you that I observed within five minutes the cook picking his nose, dropping a utensil on the floor than picking it up without washing it. If you want a real Mexican restaurant with delicious food go to L Patron on Diversey and California, this place should be bulldozed

I was just out of class, leaving Uptown and headed to the NW burbs, and I see the sign. I just moved here from Colorado and I haven’t found any tasty little Mexican joints yet, so I turn around for a snack. I have nothing to compare it to(Sound the previous location had a lot of followers) — so I will just say it like I tasted it. I ordered really simply — a steamed beef taco(I guess that’s what they call Barbacoa) and a chile relleno. The Barbacoa was melt in my mouth good. REALLYREALLY good. Got it plain — just the meat and the double layer sodt corn tortilla. And the relleno was very good, too. Hot, melty cheese and fluffy batter on the outside.(and not heavy or greasy at all) Nice freshly roasted poblano in side. Super small snack, but I will be back to try more for my next 10:30 pm weekday snack.

This is exactly why I missed Chicago, small neighborhood restaurants that have amazing food. I have the milanese sandwich and my wife had the chorizo tacos. Both had tons of flavor and didn’t leave me hungry. Oh yea the quesadilla was good too. When a place has limited items in the menu, they must be good.

What a shame. I’m a huge fan of the original location; I’ve been going there since I was a kid. I stopped by Friday night for a mid evening snack. Tacos were decent, tortillas a bit undercooked but overall OK. Today, on my way to work, I picked up 3 tacos. I’m still confused how I got a large helping of cilantro but no onions on any of the three. That’s a taste I never want a gain. Also, the meat was not well seasoned. This location may not have the speed of the original, but I expected the quality. Sadly, I’m disappointed to say lacks both. To that, I say Pasadita Express: LOSTMYBUSINESS!

Guess I’m a Pasadita purist, because this ‘Express’ location just didn’t do it for me. To keep all things constant, I ordered my ‘usual’, the super burrito. At the other location, they cut this monster in half which is a must as I’ll save the other half for the next day. Here: no cut! So, I was faced with a loosely-wrapped(read: messy) version of the burrito I’ve come to know and love over the past four years. Also, my ‘no tomatoes’ request was ignored, and I hardly saw any cheese or cilantro. Most of the burrito was comprised of rice and beans but once it started falling apart, I dug through the carnage with a fork and went straight to the carne asada and the guac. Customer service is also a bit slower than the original locations on Ashland. I was told it would be at least 10 minutes for chips, but then my burrito sat there another 10 minutes after the chips were ready while others were helped. That’s my formerly hot burrito sitting over there! In the end, La Pasadita Express was okay but certainly pales in comparison to the original outposts.
