I have been in love with LPT since it was built. It stands alone in the design and also the location. It’s been my dream to live there. I went to Columbia College and was nearby while they were building it.

«Thurston, call downstairs to have them bring the car around. I need to jaunt a few blocks into the city to have lunch at the Pump Room with Diana and the kids.» I can just imagine this scenario playing out a few decades ago. It’s a very nice building and a great architectural statement in the primo lakefront location. The only problem is: it’s surrounded by the tourist muck of Navy Pier. If you decide to live here, you’ll always be inundated with tourists, cars and tons of bikers the moment you step away from the entrance.

You can experience this building through the Open House Chicago tours, which take you up to the Cite restaurant, or you can just eat at Cite. Although rather hot with the windows and poor AC, the views from the restaurant are some of the most stunning 360 degree views of the city, directly between Navy Pier and the rest of the loop. You can see all the way up to the Bahai temple and down to the Indiana border on a clear day. The panorama of the skyline is second to none given that this is the only building that was allowed be built as far east as it is. Very nice 3rd floor garden space with pond, trees, and vegetation. If I had all the money I needed this would be a perfect place to live!

Love the building(my favorite out of the city) nice goods store and pool. The staff are very formal and nice, very safe building. Outdoor pool is dated but nice considering it was built in the 60s and the 70th floor restruant is the best in Chicago!

The 70th floor restaurant and bar is a great place to see the city.(It does get warm up here at sunset)

I love this building’s combination of dark glass material and smoothly soft gentle curves. It’s just such a striking and unusual design, like a rock made smooth and shiny by a flowing river. It’s all the more striking because it stands alone on the Chicago skyline, the only skyscraper east of Lake Shore Dr. Ranked 73th on the American Institute of Architects’ Favorite Architecture list:

Lake Point Tower stands beautifully in the skyline. You are walking distance from Navy Pier and it is in a great location.

A very cool looking building indeed. For those that have the big bucks to live here, I must once again raise my martini glass to you. There is an amazing view from inside one of these condos. Not a bad place to host a cocktail party from.

My friend lives her and the place is amazing! It’s right next to Lake Michigan and Navy Pier so there’s always something exciting going on in this area. If you have mucho dinero and like to host social gatherings, this is place for you!

Lake Point Tower is one of the few pieces of modern architecture embraced by the general public. If this were just a rectangle, no one would care about it. Since it is basically a curved Y in plan, this majestic condo tower with an enviable lakefront location looks good to everybody. What a place this would be to witness the Air Show or fireworks!
