Go to Nori! There isn’t a better sushi spot in wicker park. Blue fin is a close second. But the service and food is on point. Get the fiery dragon roll! With BYOB you barely have to spend anything.

Great sushi, in a nice location. Great patio in the summertime as well! It’s BYOB, and they have a HUGEMENU! Great when they do groupon deals, and the sushi is more than worth it, service was great as well. It’s my go to sushi place for Edgewater.

Walked in on a Friday for lunch Saw from their sign they had 50% off maki rolls… so…why not try it We split the standard tuna and avocado, salmon and avocado, and the crab and cucumber All were good, fresh, and made to order It was standard sushi

My Business is right next door, so the convenience is key to why I started ordering. I will say though it is as good, better in some cases to the sushi i drive to. I love their tempura appetizer, and the signature rolls are great. Brought many people here for sit down meal, and their carry out holds up too. Many specials for trying new things if you’re dining in.

I love Nori. As far as half-off sushi goes(every weekday before 4PM), it’s one of the best I’ve been to. The staff have always been extremely kind and courteous, the restaurant is clean with a mellow chic vibe, and the rolls are perfectly proportioned. They’re medium sized with all the classic faves made just the right way – not too much rice or vinegar, perfect amount of ingredients packed in. No fall-apart messiness. As far as raw fish goes, it’s not the freshest fish off the boat. But these are really solid, classic rolls for a great price. I’m a huge fan, and this is totally my «go to» neighborhood sushi joint on a quiet afternoon in the WP.

Great casual spot! They have half priced maki on Mondays which is a fantastic deal. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s BYOB. If you’re looking for a casual spot to grab some sushi, this is your place! It tends to be busy on Mondays for the deal, so expect to wait a little bit.

This is my second nori in Chicago. It’s just as good at the one off Damen You can get a drink, beer wine from the 711 across the street. No extra for bringing in a beer. Half price maki on Saturday. Really courteous staff. The Japanese girls are wonderful

Extremely mediocre sushi. Pros: — Outdoor seating — BYOB — Soft shell crab roll w/ponzu sauce was pretty solid Cons: — Server refused to honor«1 free Nori Signature Maki» Unilocal deal(sever claimed it was only valid for parties of four or more despite no fine print on the offer) — The calamari was horrible. Imagine if a school cafeteria attempted calamari… — Spicy shrimp maki was also sub par. Tasted off… Sushi Para is just down the block. It is all you can eat, far better quality, and cheaper. I have no intentions of returning to Nori anytime soon

I came in here for sushi, and they did not disappoint. The price is pretty standard($ 12 for a roll, $ 4 for 2 pieces). The decoration is not that much special, and server is good, although nothing spectacular.

Out for sushi with the gf and friends, groupon and cold drinks in hand being that this place is byob. We sat close to the TV to watch the game. Shortly after sitting down we ordered appetizers def try recommend spicy miso soup. We also ordered 4 different rolls with a side of spicy mayo which all 4 rolls were really good. We had enough room for some dessert which was a great way to end the night. First time there and def planning on coming back. Good food and good atmosphere.

This place is great! Indoor and outdoor seating with a beautiful view of wicker park. There staff and service is good. Not the best. But still good.(Everybody is entitled to a bad day, right?) Sushi??? FRIKENAMAZING!!! I love the variety and the BYOB is just the cherry on top! Keep it up, Nori Sushi!

A friend of mine lives in Wicker Park so we ventured here for a quick lunch. It was Memorial Day(also a Monday) so a lot of the popular restaurants in Wicker Park was closed but this place was open. We got seated immediately and between two of us, we shared a Nori Sashimi Matsu, Milwaukee roll, aloha roll, and unagi(eel) roll. The sashimi platter came with a bowl of miso that my friend passed on to me because he doesn’t like miso. I thought the sashimi was pretty fresh and delicious. Out of the three rolls we ordered, I would rank it #1: Aloha, #2 Milwaukee, and #3 eel. Aloha: my friend and I love the combo of the sweet mango, spicy jalapeño, and fresh unagi was delish! Milwaukee: I love the spicy tuna of this roll. It is one of the popular rolls of this restaurant Eel: nothing too special but it wasn’t bad. Service was really good, they kept refilling our water. Great place for a quick lunch or dinner and they also cater! BYOB!

I’ll preface this by saying the food is great. Reasonably priced. Small appetizer portions. Great deals. Decent service. BYOB. In detail, the service is quick and attentive. Sometimes too attentive but overall great. I’ve never had to wait for a spot so that’s great and in the summer time they have patio seating, which is a big plus. The one thing that bugs me about this place is the décor. It’s sooooooo dirty. If you ever eat at at the sushi bar and take a gander at the chandeliers –they are filthy. The one thing I ask from this place is to PLEASE dust and clean once in a while. Other than that this place is splendid. And I will always return. The deals are on point. 11 – 4 everyday half off maki rolls and I’m constantly taking out cause I work close. Definitely stop by and grab some food and don’t forget your wine!

OK this review is only for the Half Priced maki rolls on Monday’s. Five stars all the way for(a) CHEAPEATS,(b) BYOB and(d) decent maki rolls. I wouldn’t know how the rest of their food compares, but given the price of the rolls and the quality, I give it 5 stars! Plus, it’s BYOB so it really makes the final bill super affordable! We’ve made the decision to make it a monthly thing to enjoy half priced maki rolls here, so get ready for plenty of the same sort of updates(or not, I’ve been lazy lately). Definitely try their deep fried mashed potatoes. It’s like a croquette pretty much.

I absolutely love this place. When visiting Nori Sushi, I’m usually promptly seated as the waitress is quick to chill our wine. The menu offers a plethora of options and some of them are very creative. Who would have thought about creating a roll with banana? I’ve had it and it’s delicious. The ambiance is inviting and great for dates or getting your closest friends together. Not to mention, it is BYOB and there’s a Walgreen’s conveniently located across the street. Did I mention there always seems to be a Groupon available for this place? Check your local Groupon listings before your visit, but I would gladly pay full price for the experience again.

cute cozy restaurant, the waitress was super sweet… however way overpriced. We were there with a groupon, ordered 5 rolls(which by the way were just okay) one soup and one edamame, no drinks since it’s byob and it was $ 80.00!!! only would return for their half off sushi Mondays.

Half price maki on Mondays? Yes please! Besides the woman beside us being an idiot, the experience was great. Our waitress was sweet and helpful, and the food was better than expected.

Party of 7. The place was packed, and for good reason. The food was very good and the service is fantastic! I asked about MSG, as I have an allergy to it, and it’s usually in most Japanese foods. The kind girl checked and found that there is NOMSG in anything except for the mayo & a sauce they use with their wings. Pros: –Good food –No MSG*(see note above) –Very nice(kind, attentive, professional, informative) servers –reservations available –on MLK Jr.‘s day, food was ½ price if you pay with cash –checking in on Unilocal gave us a free signature roll –Bulls game on –younger crowd Cons: –Packed, small space to move around –parking is VERY limited –group tables may be temporary tables –sound = a bit loud

It’s nothing like coming back to my old neighborhood and uncovering a new gem. The Wicker Park areas has so many new restaurants and it seems like one pops up every other month. Nori Sushi was a pleasant surprise. I’m not sure how long it has been in this area(being that I do not live here anymore) but had it been here when I did, I would’ve been here no less than twice a week. Their sushi was very good and very fresh. What was even more likeable is that they serve half-off sushi rolls every day before 4:00 p.m. If you are looking for great sushi and a good price, definitely come to Nori Sushi. Enjoy.

One really cannot go wrong with Nori(both this location and the Lincoln Park one). They almost always have a Groupon to essentially give you the cheapest sushi in the city, they are BYOB without corkage fee, their fish is fresh and tasty, and their specialty maki are a pleasant surprise of creativity. At this point, I’ve been here enough times to know what’s good. Stick to the maki and specialty maki portion and the menu and you’re gold. Just avoid the sushi that has fruit in it — not my cup of tea, at least. The sashimi and nigiri aren’t that great and are better left to the higher end Japanese restaurants, but Nori does maki just fine. The following are my favorites(they all happen to be maki): soft-shell crab, spicy tuna, fire dragon, red nori, & Chicago. I will definitely be back next time they put up a Groupon!
