I went last night to watch the highly anticipated game 6 of the NBA Western Conference finals(Warriors at Thunder), and it was CLOSED! I called and searched for an update to see what was going on… NOTHING. Everything said it was supposed to be open. Ended up scrambling to find another sports bar to seat is before tip off. Disappointing.

This place was fun! Plenty of beers on tap. I went with the Crispin Hard Cider. Delicious. At the time I was there, it was happy hour. I grabbed the buffalo tater tots, and some type of pork taco. They were delicious and I’d be happy to return when I am in the area. However, I tried going there tonight to have dinner and they were closed to the public! Some type of private party. Bummer!

It is what It is. Should be the mantra of this place. It’s a sports bar that caters to the neighborhood and sports fans. Not my jam but the food and drinks were decent. I didn’t expect much. I didn’t get much. Fair trade.

Came here prior to a Hawks game. Fantastic deal — free parking and shuttle to the UC. Good start! Decent game day beer special but we stayed to eat dinner as well. Ordered the deviled egg appetizer. Delicious! My wife and I split a burger, which was very good, as well. We also ordered the bacon and jalapeño mac and cheese. This was fantastic! I would go back for that, Hawks game or not!

Came in on a week night for a couple drinks and dinner. This was the first time here as I recall when it used to be a club. Found the spot on Unilocal as it fit my needs to have drinks food and watch the Bulls play NY Knicks. As I took a look over the reviews and great pics Unilocalers posted of food I knew this was our spot. The place was packed with Bulls fans ready to head over to the stadium. We ordered the fish and pulled chicken tacos with the brussel sprouts as the app. I was happy that I was able to get grilled fish tacos instead of the fried as it is not on the menu. The server was willing to accommodate the request. The place was very noisy which I had already expected since it’s a sports bar that fans hang out at before games. The brussel sprouts were“OK”. I’ve definitely had better at places like«Monkeys Paw» and Mastro’s. The meal overall was not bad. I enjoyed the tacos but wished there was more grilled fish on them. The longer I stayed the more I wanted to go to the game down the street instead of watching it on tv. The bar has a shuttle that drops fans off at the United Center and picks up mid 4th quarter. I decided to be spontaneous as I am always and try to get last minute tix at the box office or online. FYI, I was told that a guy whose name and number was taken off the bathroom wall sells tix. Unfortunately he was unable to accommodate this evening as Bulls vs Knicks was a hot commodity. I decided we would just hop on the shuttle with the rest of the fans and take the chance at the box office. The game was sold out everywhere online and the box office wanted one hundred bucks for 300 level standing room only. «No good !» Headed back to Park Tavern and had more drinks. Woohoo! The Bulls ended up losing and I got my drink on and kept my money in my pocket. Win Win…

This place is bigger than I thought it would be! It’s a good place to get some beer and cheer for your favorite teams, but I am on a tater tot adventure, so we only had the heavenly Animal Tots! Fantastic!

Working at Rush, I have become somewhat of a regular here-it’s the go-to spot for lunches, happy hours, and meetings. The space is very open, which is a plus, but be cautious if you’re coming before a Bulls or Hawks game-it gets absolutely packed. The tacos are probably my favorite. They are absolutely delicious and you’re stuffed when you finish. The animal tots are also my go-to happy hour appetizer. Happy hour deals are ok-deals on drafts, nothing spectacular. Service isn’t bad. I’ve had some really good waiters who were very attentive and some I’ve had to flag down more than I would like-even when it’s empty. It’s really just hit or miss with this place. But if you’re at Rush or in the area, it’s probably your best option.

The ultimate grilled cheese looked amazing but had a weird mouth feel, candied bacon and eggs on a huge grilled cheese sounds good but I think the bread threw the sandwich off, the candied bacon was weird too, prolly would have preferred peppered bacon. Place looks awesome though, I was there when it opened so no one was in their, would like to come back in the summer and have a beer on the patio.

I’ve been here a few times before Bulls and Blackhawks games. The food is super good for a quick bite, but the service is AWFUL! The first time I went we waited 10 minutes and never were helped after being seated so we walked up to the bar. The bartender(man with ponytail) apologized that they were really busy and took our order. We saw the happy hour till 5:30pm and thought we could catch a few bites because it was only 5:15pm. However the bartender claimed it ended at 5pm and the menu was wrong… okay. He was super nice though and even took a percentage off the bill because he felt bad about the service. The second time I went it was right around 5pm and the bartender let us grab a few drinks and place a food order. She was super sweet and we really appreciated her promptness and helpfulness. This third and I hate to say it last time was by far the worst. We walked in with 5 minutes to spare before happy hour was over to grab just 1 drink a piece. Our bartender/server who had reddish hair and glasses was SO rude! I asked if I can have a happy hour drink and she ripped her phone out of her pocket and said nope it’s over. I checked my phone and said it wasn’t even 5pm yet? She said oh yeah well I can’t do it because«the buttons disappear at 5pm on the computer». Lady really you can give me 1 drink at the happy hour price when it isn’t even over yet! She ignored us the rest of the time and we had to finish being waited on by Kati(she’s the best) because this lady literally would not come by us. I think she felt pretty dumb about what she said. Anyways if you are coming before a game go to Ogden for same quality food and awesome drink specials for game days. Or if you come here make sure to get there at least by 4:30pm if you are trying to get some happy hour drinks in.

I find myself at Park Tavern whenever my work buddies want to grab a drink immediately after a long draining day. Actually, every time I’m there, I see familiar faces from the company all doing the same. Park Tavern is pretty HUGE and open. There’s a large bar in the center, and a smaller bar towards the left side of the area. Anytime there’s a game, both bars are open and full. It’s great during the summer when the outdoor patio and bar are all open too. I think the best thing about Park Tavern is the service. All the bartenders, servers, and other staff are really nice. Once in a while you’ll get an inattentive bartender, but you’ll find that anywhere you go. They have a decent tap and bottled beer list and decent cocktail list. I can’t say I’m amazed with their selection. I will say though, how well the cocktails are made totally depends on the bartender. About a month ago a colleague and I had an Irish Mule after a couple of beers that tasted great. Our next Irish Mule made by another bartender was terrible. So we asked for another, still terrible. So we asked our original bartender to make another one for us. Better. We kinda felt like jerks for asking them to be remade over and over, but you don’t want to drink crappy drinks right? They were accommodating and didn’t charge us for crappy ones nor the last better one. The food here is actually pretty good. Our favorites are the pretzel sticks. The tacos, pizza and wings are also pretty darn good. Last night we made it to Park Tavern for our pre-game group outing to the Bulls game and they have a free shuttle running between Park Tavern and the United Center running every 5 – 10 minutes. Score! All in all, pretty cool place on the Near West Side!

Where do I even start. I mean we really shoulda stood up and left when we were wondering if anyone was gonna come by and finally take our order. At least a drink order? Does one not want to make money around here? It was pretty busy cuz of Blackhawks fans. Ugh. But still. Man up. Service here really fucking blows. MIA server, request for two separate checks but came as one anyway, missing food, barely an apology until I had to point it out on the bill and asked for it to be removed, I inquired about why it was even missing, lame explanation, rudeness. I can’t with this place. Just quit your jobs already since you give two shits and it shows. The homeless sitting along the bridges across the Chicago river are way more polite and courteous than this shit show if a bar. The bartender was even worse. We moved to the bar. Sat there for awhile drink empty… Asked for a drink menu, asked about cocktails on menu– gave me an answer full of stupidity so I just had to say you know what just give me a gin and tonic and be done with it. Then this guy sat near me later and we both were looking at her ready to order. The guy being a gentleman, imagine that– tells her I was here first which I was and I’ve been waiting mind you and the bartender says oh she’s been here for awhile. Yes, no shit Sherlock so that means I can’t order another? Is there a two drink maximum I didn’t know about? He ordered his drink then I put in my order after. Noted bitch, noted. We were in the midst of the game so I didn’t want to leave yet otherwise I would have said fuck this shit I’m out. Alas I left when half time started and too bad there isn’t another I can quickly go to like next door to watch my team lose but what a circus of a bar. Mess. Later that night I saw my bar tab had been upped twice the amount I recall signing for. I will be disputing that shit and trust: I’m never coming back to this joke of a bar. — update on that, contacting the GM is nearly impossible. When you call, no one picks up and their voicemail is full. When I came in they couldn’t produce the physical receipt I signed for so now I’ve put in a dispute with my bank. Dead to me. The thought of this place really makes my blood boil. Hours online are INCORRECT!!! I came here again to ask about looking at my receipt with my own eyeballs in person to see why the bill was a certain amount when I’m positive I didn’t sign for that amount but oh yay, closed. Update your fucking website bitch.

I have to say, I don’t know if Park Tavern is good, but it is good when it comes to bar food, proximity to the United Center, and massive space… we came by last night to use a Gilt City voucher and left happy. Tried the Animal Tots, the Footlong Grilled Cheese sandwich and the cheese-and-sausage thin crust pizza. The pizza was the winner but the tots were also solid; the sandwich was light on actual cheese(heavy on the other toppings, and it was served on a quality roll) so my wife thought the sammie was a bust. We both agreed that the fries served with the sandwich were burn victims but otherwise this place was a win. I thought prices were going to be worse, but was pleasantly surprised to see that this was fairly reasonable.

I came here before my first Hawks game. It is within walking distance of the United Center but they also offer free bus shuttle service before and after the game. I was here for a private event which used the east side banquet area. This area is carpeted complete with large round tables, tall boys, and a mini bar. The mini bar looked like a re-purposed coat check room. The west side is the main bar and restaurant area. Large modern sports bar with plenty of tables, bar space, televisions, you name it. They also have a nice large outdoor area. This place is kind of hidden within a commercial like building. If you weren’t looking for it you wouldn’t know it was there. My buddy left his phone here before going to the game and they actually still had it when we returned. What are the chances of that? The manager helped us find it and he was very kind.

I LOVETHISPLACE! I will start with the ambiance because that’s what sticks out most! It is amazing! You pick your mood, sporty, romantic, laid back; you can come here and make it work! There are TVs galore for the sports fanatic, the outdoor patio is hands down… AMAZING… the large booths can provide an area for a little alone time or romance… there is even a private area upstairs suitable for gatherings… im considering having an engagement party there… IFHEEVERPOPSTHEQUESTION… SHEESH… nevertheless… I DIGRESS… back to business… I have been there several times and have never once had a bad experience. ALLOFTHEFOODHASBEENEXCELLENT… and i have tried several… my absolute favorite is the Brisket Sandwich… and Fries… they are heavenly… but last night I had roasted red pepper hummus with cucumber, kalamata olive relish, and seasoned flatbread … TODIEFOR! They have a huge selection of craft beers as well!!! Yesssssssss!!! The waiter was extremely helpful to me seeing that I was a beer newbie looking for the perfect choice! I say… GOTHERETODAYANDTRYTHEMOUT… It’s beautiful outside and the perfect day to check their patio out!!!

What the heck has happened to this place? On my last two visits, the service has been terrible, the bathrooms filthy and the food just so so. And given I was the one on both occasions who suggested my group go here, I have to take Park Tavern off my list of pre UC places until they get their act together. Yesterday’s visit had to be the worst. We had a reservation but there was no one at the hostess stand to tell that to so we just took a seat on the patio. Our server was having an off day(was she even a server?) as she didn’t write things down, forgot parts of our order and at one point when we flagged her down to ask about a beer we had been waiting 30 minutes for, she said, «oh, were you the ones who ordered that beer? We’re out of it» So we ordered a replacement beer which came 30 minutes later after the food and right before we had to leave to get to our event. Don’t try ordering the deep dish pizza here. The server said it could take up to an hour and a half(I could call a pizza place and have one delivered in half that time!) And if you need things like napkins, plates, utensils or anything else, you might as well go into the the restaurant yourself and find it on your own. The table behind us did just that and went inside for a bucket of beers and their drinks. We had other people’s food delivered to our table, drinks put down and then taken to their proper table and at one point it was such a joke that the customers were all playing«who’s food is this?» and then getting it to the right table. Sadly, the place wasn’t even that busy. Just horribly unorganized. I asked to speak to a manager, and when no one showed up at the table, I went inside to the bar to find the person that the server had described to us. When I asked her if she was the manager, she just shrugged and said she«guessed so». Park Tavern, you are officially off my go to list. Unless you are trying to start a whole«self serve» concept, you’ve got some work to do!

We were looking for a good place to get dinner while on our way to University Village and Park Tavern appeared on my girlfriend’s Unilocal app. Thank God for Unilocal.I almost feel like it’s my civic duty to give back by contributing reviews because my girlfriend has used the app so much to find awesome new places to try. The atmosphere in here I would liken to a more upscale sports bar. There were a bunch of high chairs at the bar, which created a cool aesthetic. It created a kind of romantic atmosphere. I know, right? In a sports bar? That’s what Park Tavern delivers. There’s really something for everyone here. We tried a beer flight to start, which was fairly generously portioned with four different beers to try. I generally enjoyed most of them, though one of them was too hoppy for my tastes. I was a little disappointed that a few of the ones I wanted were not included as options for the flights. It all worked out fine for me, though. My girlfriend and I were both eyeing the grilled cheese with candies bacon, but we didn’t both want to get the same thing, so I let her get it. I opted for a burger, which was pretty darn good. Then, I tried her grilled cheese and it was really fantastic – definitely the star of our meal. I wanted her to have leftovers so I could steal them, but she gobbled it up. I can’t say I blame her! Our service was great – friendly and prompt. No complaints here. I would love to come back here whenever I’m in the area. The food menu looks solid, as does the drink menu.
