My new favorite place ^_^ I had moved back to Chicago from NJ back in February and we had been getting their menus. Finally tried it and I fell I love. I’m now in Washington State and I do miss this place but they closed down before I even left Chicago

Our usual Thai place was not answering a call today. This place is two blocks away from us and quick 10 minutes away from Kimball brown line stop with so far good Unilocal ratings, I decided to finally try out this place. Easy walking distance from us and I was hopping this place can be our easily get to to-go place. Unfortunately it was not as satisfying as I hoped it to be. Interior was clean and nice and our food was prepared quick. Ordered Pad Thai for my wife, Pad See Eew for me, and spicy chicken wings to share. I am glad my wife chose extra spicy, it barely had any kick in it. My dish didn’t have any taste to it. It was so blend that I wish I ordered extra spicy rather than spicy. Spicy chicken wings were tasty but closer to sweet chilly(emphasis on sweet) than spicy. I doubt I will order any Thai food from here but I’d like to give a second chance soon with Chinese or Korean but honestly I don’t have much expectation when there are great Chinese or Korean options within 5 – 10 minutes from this location. hopefully I will be able to update this review with better stars next visit.

Very good! I had the spicy chicken and my wife had the crazy noodle with tofu, both winners. We’re new to the neighborhood and glad to have found this place.

i have seen the future, and it is a noodle machine. this place has all the asian favorites, but if you order correctly, you will get it with delicious fresh noodles. i ordered the cha chang mein(korean brown sauce noodles) and it was delicious. i could see myself coming here often and eating a bowl of noodles. but then again, i really love noodles. if you do too, try them here.

This was a solid 3.5 stars for this visit. My husband has been to Red Bowl twice for take-out orders, but this was my first time. We just got off from the CTA Kimball station three(3) blocks away and stopped by here to grab some dinner for tonight. Initially, I decided on the tempura don, but they were out of that. On the other hand, my husband wanted the beef basil. Coincidentally, they didn’t have that, either. Well, they went with second choices: Katsu don and pad Thai. The wait wasn’t long; it was approximately ten(10) minutes. There was another table with customers who were dining in, so cashier/server wasn’t tied up and orders were quickly passed to the cook in the kitchen. We both asked for spicy, which turned out to be a wise choice, because without the extra spice, the food would have tasted a bit bland. The portions were adequate. The cashier asked us if we needed utensils and napkins. I like being asked because since we literally live couple blocks away, there’s no need to have these plastic utensils, chopsticks, or napkins. It’s ok to save some trees since we have already sabotaged the environment through the use of styrofoam. The experience would have been a legit four(4) star quality if they had our first choices of entrees. I understand that there are unforeseen circumstances for not being able to provide certain items on the menu. However, the business hours weren’t posted at the front door, and they didn’t appear to be open when passing by at 1500 hour. Was this logical that ingredients were out by 1730 hour? I may just give them a benefit of doubt this time.

Glad to have Red Bowl in the neighborhood. I am looking forward to trying more. I had the orange chicken which I enjoyed. Also tried the crab Rangoon. Fresh ingredients and reasonable prices. Big portions. Would like home made sweet and sour with CR. Fast service.

Red Bowl has one of the best Asian Fusion style like food I have tried in Chicago. Inside of the restaurant the atmosphere felt peaceful and I loved the décor, especially the cherry blossom tree in the wall. I loved the fact that they make fresh noodles and you can see that while you’re sitting there enjoying your food. All of the food was really fresh and beyond tasteful. I ordered the Korean wings and they were to die for. They had just the amount of heat and man oh man the sauce they came with was out of this world. I would gladly take a cup home and drink it with a straw. My family had other delicacies and we were all satisfied, definitely going back there again as much as I can. The customer service ruled and everybodyif made you feel like they were really happy to serve you. The chef was really knowledgeable of the food. Overall this was a great experience and I am grateful that such an amazing restaurant with delicious food has arrived in Albany Park! If you have enough time to read this review you also have time to get your butt over and go make your taste buds cry of joy.

A welcomed arrival to Albany Park, I have tried Asian food all over Albany Park, and had yet to find a place that had good food, until Red Bowl. The food was made fresh instead of sitting in a pot all day getting soggy, like other places here in Albany Park, and my Kung Pao chicken had all the ingredients it’s supposed to have, which seems to be a problem at a lot of places. It actually tasted like Kung Pao chicken !!! I loved the bright, clean cheery décor, and my daughter loved the mural of the cherry tree(she surprised me by correctly identifying it was a cherry blossom tree). The cashier was polite and courteous(My daughter gave him her stamp of approval, by waving instantly). I can not wait to come back here with my friends with a bottle of something because I heard it was BYOB, and it would be a good place to socialize, plenty of space. I do hope this place sticks around, AP could use a bit of class, and this is one of the classier places!!!

Bubble tea is over priced for what they give you. The tapioca balls are too hard and the flavors are bland. Food is alright.

This place is a true gem! Not only are they just down the street from me, their food is some of the best Asian food I’ve had — across the gamut they have Chinese, Korean and Japanese. True takes on classics that go above and beyond! Enormous portions at amazing prices! My favorite so far is the Orange Chicken with the fried chicken skin. It’s flavorful, it’s spicy and it keeps you coming back for more! Pot stickers are amazing, as is pretty much everything. It looks like the noodles are even made in house with love. Everything so far has been ridiculously fresh. Yup, this place is my new go-to Asian food spot. Highly recommended!

Great, simple local restaurant. I have been there several times since it opened. The service is quick and friendly. The menu is a diverse mix of Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The portions are large. I am a huge fan of the seafood noodle soup, the stir fry noodles and the rice bowls. They make the noodles in house which is a major plus in my book! Highly recommend it!

So excited this place is so close to me! Have been there twice in three days already. By far the best«fast» Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’ve only ordered take-out, but the décor is very cute. Nice, quiet, clean. A little gem in Albany Park!

I’ve gotten carry out from Red Bowl a couple of times so far, and the food was delicious each time. The ingredients are fresh and many of the noodles are made in house. Really liked the fire tofu. Note: although there are few vegetarian dishes on the menu they can substitute tofu for most of them. You can see into the kitchen, it is very clean, and the staff is friendly. The dining room is attractively decorated with murals painted by one of the staff members. I’m looking forward to dining in sometime soon.

Wow. I had never found a place in America that serves legitimate, affordable, fast-food style donburi bowls before. The Kyu-don was too soupy for me but this discovery is still a revelation for anyone on the hunt for cheap, authentic Japanese meals. Still have to try the katsu.

Awesome noodles, made right in the restaurant. The food was great and the chef is obviously proud to cook, and the flavor is great. The only negative was that the waitress brought us the wrong dish. We didn’t realize until we were leaving because there are two similarly named dishes, and maybe she is new. Otherwise the place was great and we will definitely be returning!

Red Bowl is just right down the block from where I live so we gave it a try right when it open. Their menu offer variety of main staple Asian noodle and rice dishes. So far we have tried Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Basil Fried Rice, and my all time favorite Ul-Myunn, which is a Korean seafood noodle in gravy broth. Unfortunately Ul-myunn is no longer on the menu but they told me they can still make it so I’m a super happy customer :) The food is delicious, the price is very reasonable and the portion of some of the dish is gigantic. Like Heather F. mention in the other review, they do make some fresh noodle in house and I had the pleasure of ordering one such dish(the Ul-Myunn) and I have to say that the fresh noodle is very delicious! I plan on becoming one of their regulars :D

Red Bowl just oped in Albany Park, near were we live. We tried it tonight and thought it was really good. We walked in and order take out b/c I couldn’t find a menu online. The food was good, we ordered-orange chicken, kung pao, and spicy basil chicken. They also have a large Korean menu. We didn’t try the noodles but saw them being made in house, nice. Next time! We did take out tonight but I was told BYOB for dine in. Prices are very reasonable. We will be back to try the noodles and Korean dishes.
