I was very disappointed in the service. The waiter took too long to attend to us, who was somewhat friendly. I hope management do a better job in boosting a great work atmosphere for their employees, organization and work atmosphere starts with the top. Anyways We had already picked appetizers and meal after 10mins. The place was not crowded for a slow service. It took a while for them to even get complimentary water. The food is ok, I’m disappointed. I had Ropa Vieja and it didn’t meet my expectations. The tostones– let’s say i had better ones. The empananadas was good I don’t like when someone sweeps while I am in a restaurant. Dust travels even if you can’t see it. I don’t think I’ll go back when in town. Not value for money!

The service was very poor. When my family and I got in, there was no one to greet so we sat down at a table. We started looking over the menu to see what we would order. No one brought us water or asked us if we wanted an appetizer. So I started looking around at the waitresses standing around to see if anyone would notice that we were ready to order. As I was about to get up and go ask for assistance, a waitress finally came over. We ordered our appetizer and food all at the same time. The appetizer did come before the food which was a plus, then came our food. The food was good. There just needs to be consistent with the service. The waitresses need to be more attentive and alert. Be courteous as well. I remember when I came here last time the waitress we had was very nice, but today the waitress that we had was not pleasant. Great service will keep people coming back! There just needs to be a sense of urgency in this place. I think I’ll just take my food to go from now on, or just order from somewhere else with similar food.

Noooo, no no no. $ 7 for a shredded beef sandwich(the small one) that had tomato sauce and spices on it. The beef was EXTREMELY chewy. Zero tenderness! This is a sign that the cook has NO idea what the hell they are doing. The spice? Laughable! Slight tomato flavor with no garlic and no real spice at all. This was basically the shittiest beef sandwich Ive had in years. They should be EMBARRASSED to serve this crap especially for $ 7!!! – Chewy beef – ZERO toppings – Very little spice – ZERO garlic flavor –small – poor parking spots – expensive for what you get($ 7 for chewy shredded beef on a bun… no cheese or toppings) ++ Employees were nice ++ Nice dining area BOTTOMLINE: No Idea why or how this place stays in business when there are 100 Latino places to eat that no ONLY have a much better product, but also for $ 4… NOT $ 7.

I locked myself in the bathroom and no one would come to help. I was stuck in there for 10 hours. The cook was at least nice enough to slide some fried plantain chips under the door. For being covered in the fuzz from the floor they were pretty good. Next time maybe I’ll see if they can slide some chicken under the door.

Never ever disappoints! Staff is amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Décor is so pretty to look at. Awesome inviting atmosphere. We eat in as well as take out and we’ve also had catering from here. Don’t forget to try the lechon empanadas they’re amazing! The flan is fantastic and omg the ropa vieja is fantastic. Always fresh and hot food accompanied by outstanding service and awesome prices.

Never disappointed with food and price. The meet is always tender and flavorful. The service is quick and friendly. I only recommend that the black beans be less watery and more love in it. I highly recommend this place!

Great portions. Good Pricing. Delicious food — get the ropa vieja :) and the sampler platter. Only down side is that they close early on weekends

Do not try the ropa vieja. It’s so chewy hardly enjoyable. I poured the juice of the ropa vieja over my rice and basically just ate rice n beans. The steak sandwich was good but also chewy. I had take out but noticed the restaurant is very cute and service was friendly. Def wouldn’t return from my side of town. The food isn’t worth the travel.

The service and food here are both great! I love the skirt steak dinner. The empanadas are a great appetizer. All of the rice/bean and plantain sides are wonderful, too!

I love this place! The food is always tastefully done. There is great service! My boyfriend bought a deal from Unilocal for $ 20 that was worth $ 40 of food. One of the ladies there(maybe the manager or owner) gave us flan to complete it which was super nice! The flan was also amazing. Overall I love this place and will keep going back! I really recommend it.

I love this place! The food is always tastefully done. There is good service. The only complaint I would say is that there is some waitresses seem extremely unfriendly. Hardly a smile. Other than that everything else is great! My boyfriend bought a deal from Unilocal for $ 20 that was worth $ 40 of food. One of the ladies there(maybe the manager or owner) gave us flan to complete it which was super nice! The flan was also amazing. Overall I love this place and will keep going back! First off let’s start with the bad… Uhmmmm absolutely nothing. Now that that’s out the way let’s get into the absolutely delicious Señor Pan. The empanadas are hands down the best in town. I’ve ordered the trio on every visit and they are all amazing each time, make sure you try the Ropa Vieja its .50 extra but more than worth it. The skirt steak is probably my favorite item off the menu, it’s tender, juicy and marinated to perfection. The lechon asado, Ropa Vieja(entrée) and steak sandwiches are amazing as well. Honestly haven’t tried anything I didn’t like from this place. A must visit!

One of the best place for Cuban food in Chicago… Being a Miami transplant this is the closest I could find. Congri is not like the one I am used to. Cuban sandwich is good, empanadas excellents, the lechon is riquisimo too :)

I enjoy coming to this place but truly I think the North Ave location serves better and fresher food … So, next time, I will just drive the extra mile to get better food… BC I order picadillo de carne(ground beef stew) with a side of rice and two fried eggs and my eggs were so cold and rice was old … I give it 3 bc my hubby’s sandwich was better.

This was the place me and my boyfriend picked for our first dinner date a year ago because it’s Cuban — and he only eats Cuban food. Till this day, this restaurant lives up to my boyfriend’s expectations. He’s lived in Cuba all his life up until three years ago — he knows what it’s supposed to taste like. & I can quite agree with him that it is delicious. I always enjoy having Rope Vieja in sandwich form, and itself with congri, and yuca en mojo as sides.(& that yuca has the perfect taste) My boyfriend loves the pork-chops, and the steak — they’re juicy, and easy to eat. Their chicken dishes are also quite amazing. — Also their café con leche is toooooo die for — so sweet refreshing. The service is always optimal! Everyone is extremely well informed of the menu. The wait time for food isn’t long. They throw really nice birthday celebrations with their hats on, and birthday music. Overall, I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to try authentic Cuban food. P. S. The Unilocal deal on here makes this place 10X more affordable for bigger tables.

Really wonderful customer service. The food was awesome. I have the shredded beef with yellow rice and it was awesome. Also the virgin piña colada it was amazing. Going to come back again I recommended! FYI this is my first time here. Oh yeah and the plantain chips is also awesome.

If you fancy a well made Cuban sandwich and a café con leche, this is it. I love a good café con leche and my boyfriend and I frequent this restaurant to pick one up whenever we can. Everyone we’ve encountered has been super friendly and we’ve never had any issues with the length of time it takes to make the food. It’s also very affordable. Bonus: I love hitting the congos on my way out to indicate I had an awesome time. It’s the kid in me.

I could not find the Señor Pan Express on Diversey on Unilocal so I’m leaving my review here… I called in an order for a 2 grilled cheese sandwich no meat and a coffee and a juice I was charged for a full sandwich with meat over $ 6 charge whereas a piece of French bread with butter is less then $ 2. I mentioned this to the counter guy and he was rude about it and said that is how they charge it. So they could of given me the meat on the side and I could of given it to a homeless person. Rude service and way overpriced ! and I was initially excited about this place opening on Diversey. I will never go there nor recommend it … Lucky they got a 1 star because Unilocal does not have ½ star rating !

WOW! Where do I start? The food was absolutely AMAZING! I ordered the Lechon plate with white rice, black beans with tostones and a order of trio empanadas. From the first bite to the very last bite I couldn’t believe how good the food was. This is the first time trying this place and won’t be the last that’s for sure. Can’t wait to try there food again.

A well made Cuban sandwich is about as high on my list as a great«diner» breakfast. I’ll drive miles for either. So, based on the rave reviews in Unilocal,I did the drive out to W. Fullerton. The place was hopping, but service was really friendly and attentive. Nice menu, fairly priced. The Cuban sandwich was good(I couldn’t say«awesome»). Lots of meat & perfectly melted cheese. The bread was fresh, but a little too doughy for any grilled Cuban-type sandwiches on the menu.(For me, a great Cuban sandwich should have a «slight» crunch… think grilled cheese sandwich.) As another fellow Unilocaler noted in her review«Don’t count on the chips that come with the sandwiches.» She was so right. «I’ve had«mariquitas»(fried plantain chips) when they were less than 15 minutes out of the deep fryer, and wanted to «slap my mama» they were so delicious. Not so with the one’s on my plate today. Bottom line, I would definitely return and try a main dish(as opposed to a sandwich). The entrees being served looked and smelled delicious.

A most perfect lunch joint for takeout, couples, or small groups. Family friendly. The ropa vieja sandwich is the only true way to go. It’s saucey and savory. It is hard to chew, and will get in your teeth, but I tell you, my friends… SO worth it! the bread they serve the sandwich on soaks up the sauce in a complimenting way… *salivating in nostalgia* I have tried the pulled pork/lechon sandwich which is also good, but fares on the drier side. Don’t count on the chips that come with the sandwiches. I think they’re okay, but papery, and sometimes lack in flavor. Needs like a cajun seasoning, or something with a kick. Instead, order a side of sweet plantains! can’t go wrong. Ive tried the champagne soda — DELISH! also had the flan, which was also really good, drizzed in caramel. Very thick, creamy, and condensed in flavor. If only I lived closer… this would definitely become a guilty pleasure. It is definitely worth a drive to. On the plus side… they’re open pretty early! since they offer bakeryish items, I believe they’re open at 8am. they also offered a pretty nice groupon deal and Unilocal offer, last i checked.

Our waiter was nice the girl that cleaned the table had a bit of an attitude. I had steak with fried plantains and garlic sauce. The meat was rather frisky and tasted steamed. They needed salt. Black bean soup was mediocre and tepud. My brothers yellow rice wA seasoned good along with his pork. On the dry side but flavor was good. His wife had a steak stew was didi. The bread was good

I found another great restaurant on Unilocal.Señor Pan is rated 4 ½ stars w/1 $ sign. We went Sunday night around 7 pm and the restaurant was packed. There are 2 locations. The location we went to @ 4615 W Fullerton Ave. They have a large menu with very reasonable prices & the food we had was very good. I had the Masitas de Puerco Fritas. This is Deep-fried pork chunks were very tasty, but a little dry w/red onions, yellow rice was very good as were the plantains all for $ 10.95. We also ordered Ropa Vieja shredded beef in tomato creole sauce & The Choice beef Churrasco Cubano was very good. Good food, good service and huge portions(I have lunch tomorrow). Best of all Unilocal had $ 40.00 worth of food for $ 20.00& we all had left overs on all 3 dishes

It’s pretty sad that lately I have not been impressed with their sandwiches or the café con leche. They just changed the bread they use for the sandwiches so now I feel like they taste different and not in a good way. The café con leche has just been«blah» as well with no real taste. Sucks that they pre-make the café con leche and just keep it in a carafe there unlike before where they used to make it for you on the spot when you order it. Might have to start to look for a new Cuban sandwich place in the area since I’m pretty sure there have to be other places… sad day for me!
