my girls and i ventured out one cold saturday evening… we ended up at the spoken word café. now from reading others reviews it sounds like things have changed… yes, errr its been a few years and a two year old daughter later. when we went there was a little of this and a little of that… the house of twang(house band at the time) entertained the crowd inbetween sets(loved them, errr and the hot guitarist). i walked out of their crowned ghetto queen for the night. they sang me a song and i got to wear a ghetto fab street cone painted silver on my head, lol. it was fun. sounds like their confused on what they want to provide the community. i would suggest they figure out which route their going to go and stick with it. me? i prefer it a local hot spot for open mic talent!

So I went here on a Tuesday night– their hip hop/poetry open mike and it was filled with 18-early 20 yr olds who are trying out their rhyming skills via rapping or freestyling. I would recommend this place to any one who wants to try out their rapping skills to a crowd because the environment is friendly and plus– there is no way you could do any worse so no intimidation by any means! otherwise, I wouldnt recommend the place on a Tuesday. there’s a $ 5 cover and free if a performer

So I went here last night for the first time. Apparently they’re trying to convert this place from a coffee café to nightclub. It was nice. There was a blues band playing and free food. Chicken, Spaghetti, mashed potatoes and gravy. Supposedly the event was sponsored by Ciroc Vodka although I didn’t see that much paraphernalia. There were also comedians(although they weren’t very good. lol) There were also poker and blackjack tables set up in the back. They gave you play money and they were offering prizes. I thought it was really cute. Next Thursday they are having Patron Casino night. I think it’s definitely a nice spot to just relax and chill with friends and enjoy a nice atmosphere.
