The Lemon Drop Martini was great! I came here for lunch with my friend and we had a great time. Also, there’s parking.

Great customer service. People here are awesome to be around. My favorite was and is the short rib taco. Very soft and juicy… Definitely recommend this place for a good time.

Oink Oink. So I won a gift card to this place and had time to kill, so I figured a TGIF outing was the ideal way to use it. Overall, I was pretty pleased with pigging out at The Piggery. Got seated right away on 1÷29÷16 and quickly put in orders of beer from their modest brew listing. When it came time to get food, I knew that I had to hit $ 50 in total(the amount on the gift card, and no, I had zero intention of returning to such a far away place), so I decided to eat… well, like a pig. A big ol’ fat P-I-G. So I did. Started with a cup of pork bean chili that had a very unceremonious poop squiggle of sour cream on top. Pretty basic chili stuffs. From there we got ‘firecrackers’, which were jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon. Yummy, but again, nothing terribly groundbreaking to report here. Things picked up when our entrees arrived, with Jackie S getting the steak sandwich(melted pepper jack cheese, mushrooms, chipotle mayo) and I, the half slab of ribs. My half slab came with choice of 2 sides, and after great mental anguish I decided on the baked mac & cheese and boston baked beans. The beans were weak, IMO. I’m a bean guy, but I didn’t even bother to finish them. The mac & cheese was splendid, however, and more than made up for the insipid baked beans. Quite honestly, some of the best mac-n-cheese I’ve had in a while. The ribs did indeed fall off of the bone, and when one slipped out of my fingers and landed on the floor, I came close to crying. That’s how tasty they were. I appreciated that the manager came around to ask us how everything was(I wasn’t lying when I said everything was good, although I did refrain from mentioning the lackluster baked beans at that time). Our server was attentive, no complaints there. I couldn’t help but notice chilly gusts of wind coming from outside, despite our being seated at the far back. Because of this, I had to keep my jacket on throughout the meal. Bread = 4 Circuses = 4 It was fine for an isolated meal and worth the lengthy one-time drive, but since it’s nowhere near where I live, the chances of my returning to The Piggery are slim to none. Although… Were it not for my dinner date here with Jackie S(a 45 minute drive for us), I wouldn’t have been in the car long enough to call into 97.9 The Loop and win some sweet ass Black Sabbath farewell tour tickets(HELLYEAH!) Needless to say, I was so excited I nearly peed my pants and crashed into a tree en route to the restaurant.

Came here Saturday night with some friends. The place was kind of dead but a nice setup with TVs if your a sports fan. E split pizza, burger, fries, and some sides. We all thought the food was very good, but unfortunately it was a thumbs down at the bar. All of our drinks were noticeably weak which was annoying when it’s Saturday night and you just want a good drink. 3 of the 5 of us questioned if there was any alcohol in our drinks. We ordered shots — paid– and added them to the drinks. If I lived in the area I would go back — hopefully the drinks was a one night thing– but 3 is the best I can do.

I was upstairs for a private party and I must say, great party room. It can fit about 100 comfortably. We had bar food from the menu which I enjoyed, and I am fussy. I can’t understand how anyone can condemn their food??? Nachos and toppings good. The guacamole was great! Also, different items wrapped in bacon(I don’t usually eat bacon) which were jalapenos and artichokes, other items too but these were the only ones I tried. I think it was very clever. Basically, it was prepared there and not taken out of a freezer like so many other bars.

Three of us all got food poisoning. Two of us shared the onion strings with ranch dressing. I got a salad, and the braised short-rib tacos. My friend got the bbq pork sandwich, and my husband the pot roast w-broccoli and mashed potatoes(carry-out). Obviously concerning given the varied orders. I was the most sick, violently projectile vomiting from one end, and well, you can guess what from the other end. Everyone else had«other end» issues. Obviously something in the kitchen was contaminated. Too bad. First visit, and the tacos were actually good. My friend enjoyed her bbq pork sandwich, but my husband’s broccoli was completely raw, not al dente, stone cold raw. He also said the pot roast was meh, it wasn’t anything he’d get again. Certainly we won’t be trying anything else because we can’t risk going back. I did call the restaurant to tell them. They were apologetic and grateful for the call.

And amazing restaurant, and great food. I Especially liked this restaurant because it’s great for people who don’t drink alcohol, they have a great selection of soft drinks and nonalcoholic drinks. The owner was really cool, and gave us a tour of the restaurant, he is a true businessman and knows his stuff. This is a hidden gem and Chicago, and if you haven’t been there you should you’re missing out.

Stopped for dinner on the way to a show. The Cuban sandwich was out of this world. Not your traditional Cuban sandwich but better. Who knew that was even possible. The serving was huge. I had to stand up after eating the entire thing. I was too full to sit. Good service and great menu. This is a must go to destination. I’m heading back for breakfast in the near future.

The name says it all! If you love pork come here. I can’t even begin to tell you how large the portions are-my Cuban was as large as my two hands and it was superb. We also had the pork egg rolls, the sampler platter and pork sandwich and Yes we went a bit overboard! The egg rolls were great and the bacon wrapped dates were also a favorite. Did I mention it’s half price apps during the week 9 – 12(I think). This place is a great start to a weekend– I’ll be back for sure on a Friday.

Pros: raspberry mamosa, tvs, fried pickles, mashed potatoes, bbq ribs Cons: no music in background, fried chicken wasn’t great(didn’t taste fresh), guacamole needed more flavor, moscow mule doesn’t come in a copper mug(disappointing), piggy egg rolls were not that great either.

The Piggery is a great place to get your hangover helpings on Sunday. Our minds were much bigger than our stomachs when our group ordered buffalo wings, buffalo chicken pizza, and pulled pork nachos just as apps. I would say the food is average. You really can’t go wrong with buffalo sauce but the nachos were a bit questionable. As an appetizer I split the taquitos and Mac and cheese with bacon and mushrooms. The taquitos were not at all what I thought –basically meat on corn tortillas. Although the the pork belly was delicious. I didn’t try the other ones because I was too full from the apps. Although, the Mac and cheese with bacon and mushroom was !!! Literally would come back just for that. Also had a Bloody Mary– decent but I’ll warn you I’m very picky with bloodys! Bloody was a 3⁄5. The reason this place was really on point was the service! Our apps and entrees took a while to come out so our apps were on the house along with a free shot and a birthday dessert for our friend. We never complained but the manager came over and offered. The service really was polite, extremely nice, and generous! Definitely why The Piggery gets 4 stars!

I cannot be more thankful that this place is so close to my house. This place has it all. It has great vibes, great décor, friendly staff and management, and great food. As devout badger fans my roommates and I are always checking out fun places to cheer on Bucky. This place is fun but not too crowded or rowdy during the games. A Bucky mascot even showed up! The food has been great every time we have been there. My favorite is going for brunch. Their build your own skillet is amazing and you get to pick three toppings! Their Mac and cheese is also something to not glance past. Honestly I would say the food is more of a 4 star but this place gets a 5 stars because I have yet to be to another bar/restaurant in Chicago where the staff is as friendly and fun. You feel like you are back up in Wisconsin. Two times now we have had the manager/owner come over and ask about our meals and chat with us for a bit and drop off some drink tokens(which are shaped like pigs…). Just in addition they opened a pretty amazing rooftop that is great for large groups. They also have great bloody Mary’s if you show up needing a little hair of the dog.

Wow, get ready for food that’s worth the price and keep you full all day. This little Wisconsin Badger owned and operated joint is just around the corner from my friends place. He had told me how good it was the giant sandwiches and he was not lying ! We spilt fried cheese curds as an appetizer served with chipotle mayo. Delicious ! I ended up ordering the turkey club with a twice baked potato. They have an amazing selection of sides also! And while their menu was a little all over the place, I’m pretty sure it’s all good. They also serve breakfast, which I would really like to go back and try! I had to carry home the left overs te portions were huge and I feel like I can’t eat for week. But I strongly suggest putting away your badger hatred and going in to eat some grub. And I suggest the twice baked potato, it’s amazing.

The Piggery on Irving Park Rd near Ashland Av is a great place to go with friends and family. We were there on a Sunday afternoon for sandwiches and drinks. The atmosphere was lively, there is a patio outside, a large open bar and dinning room and other rooms for parties and banquets. The food was great. Our server was very friendly and handled our table very nicely. We shared the pulled pork eggroll appetizer which we enjoyed. It was different but a very good idea and tasty. I had their famous Cuban sandwich, trust me To Die For is no exaggeration, I chose the green beans which are cooked up very nicely in garlic and bacon. They were also fresh and very good but the Cuban is a must try for anyone. My husband had a bar b que chicken sandwich with french fries while our son had the Quesidillia. We left there very satisfied and happy with our choices of food and will return soon.

First off, I’ve never been to the restaurant and have only had delivery(ordered through if it makes any difference). I’m more than willing to go and eat in since there’s definitely potential. I ordered brunch in to help motivate me with the cleaning/packing process and got the pork belly benedict and the beignets. After an hour there was still no sign of my food, but my laundry had been flipped. After an hour and a half my food still had yet to arrive, but my stove had been scrubbed. At the two hour mark, after getting some vacuuming done, my food finally arrived right as I was about to call in to say«forget it.» As for the food itself… well, like I said, there’s definitely some potential there. The beignets were perfectly sweet and the crumbled up bacon gave them a great balance. While they were a little cold, it wasn’t anything that tossing them in the microwave for a few seconds couldn’t fix. My real issue was with the pork belly benedict. It could’ve been so good, the flavor was there(though I’m still not completely sure how I feel about the toasted cornbread), but the hollendaise had congealed on the ride over and my yolks were cold. My biggest gripe about all of this is that it took two hours for my food to get here when I’m a 10 minute drive away. Did they have other orders to deliver? Sure, that’d make sense, but it shouldn’t take two hours with zero attempts to say«hey, things are running behind, sorry about that» for a food delivery order to be completed.

Craving ribs and the piggery delievered! Went out for an early dinner with family. It’s a Wisconsin bar and they weren’t playing so we were seated immediately. Service was decent but not amazing. Our food came out at different times and I had to wait while the rest of my party had their food already. The ribs were the highlight of the expeirence. They were moist and fell off the bone easily. I ordered the mac and cheese, which was decent, but the baked beans were not the best. They were a bit soupy and cheap tasting. Tried a bite of the pizza that was also ordered. It was better than expected. The toppings(mushrooms and pepperoni) were very fresh. Not sure if a venture to the piggery would be in my future, based on location more than anything, but I would recommend stopping by for a bite if you’re nearby. (4÷5)

It’s called The Piggery but the best thing going for this place aren’t the pork products. Instead, it’s everything else that’s inside. Once you walk it, you feel like you just teleported to Madison, WI. It’s a Wisconsin bar so University of Wisconsin paraphernalia is all over. There are also cute caricatures of famous Chicagoans in piglet form like Oprah, Mike Ditka, and Harry Carary. It’s really a place for all the people from Wisconsin who are now living in Chicago. Yes, there are cheese curds on the menu for all you cheeseheads. The best part of The Piggery is the How I Met Your Mother trivia that everyone in the bar seemed to be playing. If you know all of Barney Stinson’s bro-tastic quotes, then this is your place. The food wasn’t phenomenal but the prices were reasonable. It was refreshing to see entrees for only $ 13 that actually come with a side. It’s pub food that doesn’t hold back on the cheese or pork fat which is a plus for my stomach. If you feel like a heart attack in burger form, get the pork belly burger. It’s got two patties topped with pork belly and pastrami. It’s possimbable.
