I came here highly intoxicated after the Wicker Park music festival this summer. This was my first time. I grabbed a red bull/vodka. Pretty hard to mess up. Its a cute little nook in the wall and we only came here because it wasn’t as packed as the other ones. I would have given it more stars, but the music was horrible. They had a live band. I don’t know but I felt like I was in Mexico. It was a group of old men strumming bangos with sombreros on. Totally killed my vibe of this place. I would stop in here if I was in the area, but wouldn’t go out of my way. Its just alright.

Like the music and the variety of girls BUT the only thing I did not like was the BARTENDER! The girl with the stars on her face needs to practice BETTERCUSTOMERSERVICE!

DOLLHOUSEFRIDAYS The best Lesbian night in Chicago. It is a guaranteed good time every time! Never a cover and it has that small bar charm right in the middle of wicker park. Always good music and well dressed cool chicks hanging out there. As good as it gets ladies!

Definately didn’t go on fridays as they most likely don’t welcome men on that night. i went on a mexican night on a Sunday and I am sure with the all male crowd I saw this place would attract alot of gays who are into that. The place is small and the beer is cheap and they had ESPN Tv unlike many bars in this snobbish Yuppie area. Just passing wicker park bars this week and defiantely won’t be stopping here again. especially on a friday Night. I guess if I was a lesbian maybe.

Went here for… Dollhouse Fridays. and I must say, I’m not a woman who prefers women BUT it was an all right time, we were there on the earlier end and played darts and got goofy on the dance floor. Free drinks for ladies from 10 – 11 that night, so I can’t complain.

There was no room to dance once midnight came, but I guess that can a good thing as it was busy. I have no complaints about the service. The music was alright — some hits, usually pop or Latin — but many forgettable songs. Drinks were alright. But here’s the real question: how are you going to have ‘ladies night’ and only have ONE bathroom(read: one stall) for women? I’d say it’s a good place to start the night.

so like everyone else has mentioned, there is a ladies night on friday’s called Dollhouse and it’s one of very few spots that girls who like girls can go and party. from 9 – 10 they have an openbar which actually was like drinking straight juice but free drinks are free drinks so i’m not goin to complain too much… the music is hip hop, house, and latin of various sorts… i mainly go for the 2 – 3 bachata songs that get played and then some reggaeton… overall, the nigh isn’t too shabby. it’s small and the place gets packed and superhot but i’d still go back.

Friday nights are ladies night, Oh what a night! On Friday’s Wicker Well hosts an event called Dollhouse, mainly for women who enjoy women, but you’ll still find a mixed crowd there which is always nice! It’s not a huge venue, but sweating while you’re dancing to reggaeton, salsa, bachata, or merengue brings out the beast in me *Rooaarr* Then, to make things better, from 9 – 10 well drinks are free for the ladies(I prefer to pay for the better drinks, but it’s still a big draw and a reason to convince my friends to go). All in all, the Dollhouse events at Wicker Well are entertaining, fun, packed, located out of the usual spot of Boystown, and there to allow you to go in and let loose. This may not be the place for all the ladies, but for this lady, I’ll boogy down to the Latin music at Wicker Well!

My first time at this bar seeing my visit drag show I must say was a great night. Chi-City Kings and dancing was a lot of fun. Women everywhere jam packed and friendly. I first walked in worried by the music I heard and a women turns around and says don’t worry there’s a performance. So I stayed and glad I did! Women in Drag performing to short dick name had me laughing and rooting for more. The music was amazing! I went to dance and women without hesitation grabbed me to dance with them. My straight guy friends had a good time and we had no problems. This makes for a successful night. Only cons are no parking and it is a tiny bar. If the could open it up it would be perfect.

Not amazing. Not horrible. Completely average staff, completely average prices. Pretty good dance music but no one was dancing.

Oh Well that we so humbly call Wicker, how excited I was when i walked by your tiny door only to notice a line of cute girls entering and a rainbow flag in your window. How sad I was when I had to move away from you. Now I only get to see you when a friend offers to drive. :sigh: It was good for a time, when I could shake my butt to your pop, sway my hips to your salsa and embrace a beautiful woman to your bachata. Unlike girlb… er, circuitgirl… whatever it’s called, you’re not pretentious and no one is too cool for school. So, as soon as I get a ride, I’ll be back and it’ll be on.

Wicker Well, featuring $ 6 for a can of PBR and a shot of Jack Daniels. Unlike my past experiences at Wicker Well watching friends sing and play guitar on open mic night, that Wednesday featured the Afro-Cuban group, Ogunda Masa setting up shop for an amazing rumba show. On the side, jewelry was being set up and organized for sale to the general public indoors. A friend of mine saw robot painting on the wall and decided to grab two for $ 40 apiece, declaring that when he saw something he liked and wanted he had no problem shelling out for it. The crowd was eclectic but I did not know if they were regulars or just rolled with the band. I didn’t stay long after they started playing but it was a much better atmosphere than on open mic night!

This bar is slightly puzzling. I was here for a post-work drink at about 6:30 on a Friday with 2 of my lady friends, and it was us and a bunch of Men-dudes at the end of the bar – like ex-football players who are super nice, as in playing Chris Brown on the jukebox over and over again, which was hilarious. The bartender was fantastic too, very chill. Drink specials, did I mention! $ 3 blue moon pints on fridays, sign me up and take my dollars. I guess this bar has lesbian dance nights later on Friday nights, which seems like a funny combo with the footbally dudes, but I’m all about random crowds, especially at a wicker park bar, of all places.

I went here for a friends B-Day party, and would have to say this was among one of the worst bar experiences I’ve ever had. I understand a lot of bars get loud on Saturday night, but this was ridiculous, there was virtually no one there Saturday night at 10:30, but the hardcore rap(not hip-hop) was so loud I couldn’t hear what someone was screaming in my ear. Aside from being too loud, the music was just flat out horrid, I’ve never heard Enya mixed with Snoop Dogg — really just not a good combo. The drinks were served in plastic cups and were insanely expensive and the bouncer was snotty. There are so many better choices in the Wicker Park, Bucktown, Ukie Village area, it’s hard to understand why anyone would even consider going to the Wicker Well.

I was in this bar for appx 3 minutes when the smell of vomit and urine become overwhelming. It could have just been the night, but I haven’t gathered the courage to go back and find out.

I’m kind of confused. The décor says dive bar, but the music says dance club. The $ 6 vodka«special» says pricey(what does it cost when it’s not on special?), but the plastic cup it is served in says cheap(and yuck). Hmmm… I think I just stepped back in time to college. Sticky floors, bad music, run down space, and drunk people booty dancing to Justin TImberlake? I didn’t know Small Town, IN had relocated to North Avenue.

I went here on a Friday night with a gay friend who told me it was really diverse and a cool place to chill. She says she feels really out of place in straight bars but here she feels comfortable and thought I would also. She was right, I loved it. I don’t know if «dive bar» is totally accurate. I’m not sure what that means anymore. I would have called this a neighborhood bar but since Chicagoans are losing these daily maybe they don’t know what else to call something like this. There is excellent music and a tiny«dance floor» if you feel the urge. On this Friday night we listened to hip hop, reggaeton(sp?), and a mix of more traditional latin music. Dancers were just as diverse. The crowd is awfully nice and so is the waitstaff. I only ordered beer so I can’t say how stiff the drinks are, but the prices for a beer are good. The only thing I found annoying about this place were the dancers on the bar. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy watching a good dancer too, I just don’t want to have to worry about my drink being in their way. The bathroom is tiny and there is a long line to wait in to get in. It’s right off the«dance floor» and not far from the bar. So you won’t get lost trying to find it but it’s weird walking out of there and landing on the dance floor.
